The Hoxton, Vienna

Breakfast was good and staff very helpful......good location within walking distance to major downtown attractions.....would stay there again !

Dinner menu was a little under-whelming.

Size of the rooms were so small I got claustrophobic.

My daughter was ill and they took great care of us.

Rooftop pool was great and also location. Bed and pillows were very nice and comfortable. Rooftop bar service was very good.

The staff in frond desk was not very welcoming, the service in the restaurant on ground floor was quite slow, we were waiting for apperatives close to half an hour, even food arrived earlier. Usually the beverages are served very quickly in restaurants. During the breakfast the coffee was delivered extra slowly.

Location is excellent, cleanliness superb, staff excellent. This time I had breakfast option too which was superb.
The Stadtpark station is literally 5 mins walk from the hotel.
My favourite feature here is the pool, absolutely superb, roof top pool, had the most perfect swims in a morning looking out over Vienna

The location was excellent - no real need for transportation since everything is a walk away. Beds were huge and comfortable. The room was pretty spaceous for two people as we chose the biggest room available. There was a vintage radio speaker playing music when we arrived at our room - very nice touch. Also, the music being played in the lobby and elevators is of very good taste and suits the wanted aesthetic of the hotel very much. The staff was helpful and informative when needed. The tea at breakfast and in the room was very good. We appreciated the sustainable brand of soaps and hand cream provided in the room. The highlight of the stay - unlimited freshly squeezed orange juice during breakfast!

The style and design of the hotel was unique, but came off as a bit worn-down rather than vintage at times. Our room wasn’t the cleanest, there were cobwebs in a corner by the ceiling. The windows were very dirty. The curtains were missing a few clips when we arrived and a lightbulb from the main lamp in the room had burned out. All of this made the hotel seem very lazily put together, especially for the price being paid, we’d expect more. Breakfast was okay, but desperately needed some fresh vegetables or colour, as most of the menu consisted of fatty foods or frozen produce like hashbrowns. The a la carte selection was often a disappointment - avocado toast had blended avocado with a very weird texture, poached eggs were either overcooked or undercooked, waffles were obviously store bought with huge chunks of sugar and bacon tasted like it had been sitting out in the heater for hours after cooking - definitely not “crispy” as advertised. In summary, the hotel seemed to be chasing an aesthetic rather than focusing on quality, which made our stay quite disappointing. A bit of clarity on when the pool opens would also be nice as only when we arrived were we informed that it opens on May 1st - the exact date when our stay ended. Since this is a huge selling point, it should’ve been mentioned sooner.

A bit minimalist regarding nrooms

The location is great, very close to the centre, to the main museums, to the most famous cafes and pastry shops. It is also very well connected with the airport and with the other quartiers of the city thanks to the metro station “Stadtpark”. The rooms are modern, stylish and well equipped with all the necessary things.

Well located - walkable to both airport train and main sights- chic, comfortable seating on ground floor, good restaurant and roof terrace bar, room comfortable and well-designed.

We booked based on the hotel having a pool/bikes neither of which were available as the pool was empty of water & the bikes had been stolen way before we arrived. We invited our daughter to join us for my husbands birthday breakfast she’s a student at WU & we’re shocked at the cost for her to join us she had a coffee/croissant. It might have been a nice gesture had you allowed her the brekkie for free as compensation for no pool/bikes.

Amenities within the hotel and the room, the on site restaurant, toiletries are nice and locally made, very close to the main train station in Vienna and it was VERY clean, one of the most important aspects for me when travelling

The 7am drilling - when we asked why the drilling happened so early on a Monday morning were told it was the only time the work could be completed by the company the hotel was using. While there was an apology I would have expected better communications (upon check in, a letter under the door) and/or compensation (free cocktail at any Hoxton bar?) from a chain like The Hoxton. Alternatively, don't put bookings near the room where the drilling is if it's going to be at such an early hour?

The rooms were quite warm and when we were unable to put the AC on - we were told if its a certain temperature outside we are unable to turn the AC on. The sleeps were quite warm both nights (we stayed in Jan/Feb) and you are not able to open the windows to offset the lack of AC

The wait for the breakfast Sunday morning was almost an hour. This was more an issue our side as we left it until an hour before they stopped serving AND there was a wedding the night before (which we didn't know) - its more a flag to anyone with specific timings to give yourself more than enough time for breakfast or to go earlier than normal on a weekend. Monday morning breakfast we were sat quickly and served swiftly

The breakfast was tasty, staff friendly and service was very quick. The rooftop bar had lovely views. Room was great, cosy, clean and the shower and bathroom products were excellent.

The aircon didn’t seem to go lower than 20 in the room so it was quite hot in the middle of the night despite us playing about with it. Not enough to warrant a call to front desk but my husband was uncomfortable sleeping in the heat.

It would be amazing if it had some more wellness facilities as pool is shut half the year, the rooms didn’t have the best storage but we were in a smaller one so maybe this is why.

Very stylish and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Great that there’s a Spar just around the corner, as well.

The aircon was tricky to navigate so a bit of a sleepless night (was very loud).
