Grätzlhotel Karmelitermarkt, Vienna

Everything was perfect. Even though, the room is "on the street" (meaning there is a restaurant few meters away, busy streets,...) the windows and doors are "air-tight", so no sound comes into the room(s). The location (from where I am working) is amazing (5min walk). The bed is comfortable. Top, really, 10/10!

The one staff member we spoke to at the office was great and super friendly. The location we stayed at was also close to food, supermarkets and a metro station

The hotel has multiple addresses however when finding them on the map, unless you have the exact location it will only show you their office, or a property under the hotel in the area. If there are multiple buildings under the same name it is very very confusing to find your property. I received no information how to find our accomodation until we arrived at the office believing this was our hotel. The bed is very comfortable however the pillows are very very thin show pillows and were very uncomfortable. The shower was also very mouldy, rusty and unclean. We were unable to check in at the check in time as well because the room was still being cleaned. The property is a studio stand alone room that is on the road side and very exposed. We only had a curtain for privacy and the Tv did not even work.

An interesting concept with an overall comfortable atmosphere. Spacious room, a very comfortable bed, and located in a very nice neighborhood. I will definitely come back.

That my apartament was in the street and i had big windows and i felt exposed. The other apartment were nicer

Large space. We've never been in an Airbnb so your setup was strange at first but ok when we got used to it.

Toilet door would not close. Lotion did not dispense but it was alright since I can't stand strong scents. Perhaps unscented Lotion and soap per request? We arrived early and had a problem with where to stow our luggage. Other hotels allowed us to stow our stuff with them while waiting for check in time. I understand your unique setup but maybe this is something you can work on.

Room was spacious and comfortable, walking distance to tram stop and also to the city centre. Big shower, functional kitchenette and dining space.

The bar next door was busy during the weekend evenings as expected, so if you are a light sleeper maybe it would be a problem.

Close to shops and metro station. Was clean and good quality bedding.

We stayed in room 205. It was situated next to an aperitivo bar. When you open your door, you see their tables and chairs outside. No fresh air. There was a foul smell in the bathroom and the extractor fans didn't seem to work.

Quite a good location to get into central Vienna; useful little kitchen and huge clean bathroom; comfy bed and lots of space.

Door is very difficult to open, we had to call the office; we could also hear the bar next door until late; there was a dark stain on our bed sheet.

Amazing modern and clean apartment with a kitchenette, fridge. Very spacious. Easy self check-in. Location top - 20 minute walk from the city center. Easy access to two metro (ubahn) stations (U1 and U2). Highly recommended if you're coming for the Vienna Marathon as it has balanced access to the start and finish lines (of course depending if the organisers keep or change them). Light sleepers beware: there seems to be an adjacent apartment separated literally only by a locked door, which is close to the bed. We were lucky that people there were only staying for 1 night so we didn't hear much besides that one day but if you're unlucky it could be that you'll have some noise.. Besides that it was totally quiet though. Also the bed pillows are not the best, very thin and flat. Minor things though, it's a brilliant place overall.

This is a very nice apartment located in what used to be a craft workshop. It is situated in a very nice area, full of bakeries, good coffee places and various restaurants and bars, which has not been taken over by tourism. The flat has everything one may need.

Nice place worth the price. The room is spacious and big. The location is convenient. We were given a two-hour late check-out, which was nice.

1. There is no one to talk to, if you need a tissue you have to send an email. Communication is only via email or local SIM, not WhatsApp. 2. The toilet is leaning sideways. 3. I forgot to mention that we were bringing a baby, my mistake - but the hotel said that it was impossible to provide a baby bed overnight and that it would take two days from the day we arrived. In the end, it was provided after one day. I don't think this is right - the baby slept on the sofa one night

Exceptionally clean stylish room with ensuite and good location for Prater and public transport. A good price for a short break. There was a little fridge with a complimentary bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. Good shower and bathroom. Really comfy bed. Close to shops, bars and restaurants.

The door to the room was on the road, so people would hang around just outside the door which felt a little unsafe although the door was secure. The room is open plan so no privacy when showering.

No communication from Urbanauts. Linen was changed once in 13 days. Kitchen did not meet our expectations as advertised on the website. eg 2 pots and a collander were the only cooking equipment. Enough washing up liquid for 1/2 days. Rubbish was not cleared regularly.

Location is near to center. 15 minutes walking. Silent neighnourhood. There is a Spar very near. Kitchen facilities are good.

We loved how the whole apartment looked; spacious, cool, comfortable. The location was amazing even though it wasn’t traditional hotel which is something we should have expected but when person reads all information, they should not have problem finding the room.

It was more issue on my end since I forgot to do check in, however the staff was extremely helpful on the phone. We had trouble unlocking the door and had to push the door towards really hard to get it unlocked. The whole apartment was clean, except for the shower where was mold, which was unfortunate since the shower is amazing! Sincerely the room/apartment is very spacious, which we loved, it was also very cold, but I found the bathrobe and was okey for the night, but for people who are not used to colder climates it could be bigger problem.

Upstairs resident stomped around from early morning till late evening. We could hear every step. Otherwise a lovely place

I really liked my room. It has only one downside - the sidewalk is just in front of one's door step. I had my (nice) curtains closed all the time to have some privacy. The light conditions are still good. The room has character. Personally, I am a big fan of the neighborhood. I love Leopoldstadt and would always stay there if I travel to Vienna.

Location was perfect, really close to 2 metro stations. Surroundings noisy after 23, I was a little afraid to walk alone, but during the day it’s really nice place. Clean and comfortable place with everything what is needed for few days trip.

The bed was for me too soft and front of the room has a thick glass, so we heard surroundings in the morning.

Facilities were great, even a free bottle of wine! Location was perfect, right near the metro or a slow stroll into the centre was great for our sunny trip. Huge room, very comfortable bed too

Only slight issue was that we had a problem with access to our room and there is no on-site reception. Was easily fixed with a phone call and a lovely member of staff coming to assist 15 or so minutes later.

Overall nice place and clean. Comfortable bed and big bathroom. Not much facilities inside. It s location is the beautiful very vibrant area plus -the market is a few steps away. And walking distance from the very center.

Very loud. Located on the street-literally. Felt like sleeping outside as it is surrounded with glass door and windows and the only privacy are the curtains. During the day whoever it is outside can see you unless the curtains are closed all the time. Missing all the light or possibility to open the windows. The 2nd day of our stay were workers from canalization and that was particularly loud and unfortunately not so pleasant as it also lasted 6h right in front of the door.

Location excellent, 5 minute walk from Metro station. Beds were super comfortable. Modern and well decorated. Easy access with lock box for key.

TV did not work. Only 1 mug for 2 people. Damp unpleasant smell in the shower .

I had requested one of the rooms with a bathtub and never received a reply, and did not get a bathtub in my room. Small lip on floor to the toilet needs to have safety tape on it. We both stubbed our toes because the lip is not noticeable.

Quite noisy at times as it’s right on the road, one apartment in particular is next to the cafe/bar so gets loud on a Friday/Saturday night (room 205). The beds weren’t the comfiest.

The interior design of the place looks nice when all the curtains are closed. The kitchen area is well-designed and there is a comfortable shower. The wifi was not working properly and the staff was friendly and replaced it, but the replacement also did not work properly. Due to this issue, we received around a 10% refund from the original price.

The apartment's large panoramic window and glass door that directly faces the busy street on the ground floor were not what you were expecting. Despite the photos making it seem like the windows faced a quiet yard, the reality is quite the opposite. Living in this apartment feels like living in a store or even worse, in the red light district. The constant noise from the nearby bar and the unsettling experience of having someone try to enter the apartment in the middle of the night has left us feeling stressed and unable to get a good night's sleep.

We loved the aesthetic of the place, really vintage and cute. What socked us was the size of the room & the bathroom

The only thing that could be negative was that the room we stayed in ( 205 ) was located on the street , 0 floor , and we had the curtains closed all day for privacy. Also we heard 2 people trying to unlock the door, probably due to the complexity of the building. Maybe it could be a bit more simple for the guests. But it wasn’t really important. And it was overall safe!

Pillows were not comfortable at all, way too soft/thin. Could here some noise from bar next door, but not so that it was disturbing.

The room was clean when we arrived. We liked the kitchen area that had everything along with coffee machine. I also enjoyed the big table, lots of room to eat and also leave your stuff. Also the self-check in process was very smooth. We did leave our luggage for some hours after the check out in their offices for free and that is also a bonus point.

The room was almost on the road making it appropriate for a shop but not for accommodation. It seems that is used to be a shop of some kind. Given that there is a big glass front there is a lot of curtains to cover and have the illusion of privacy. Although the curtains did somehow the job, in the morning we could not open them to have some light as passengers could literally see us as the were passing by. So all in all the privacy element is a minus Another bad point is the bar just next to our room that was kind of loud at some points and the room was vibrating from music and other low frequency noises. I was also expecting that the cleaning ladies would come earlier in our stay.

It was not hotel , was just room so it was so hard to find how to get the room key and get contact as well . I received info in german language so I had to find ppl to translate.

The impression that it is a hotel is wrong. It’s like a apartment. Quite noisy in the morning, not easy to find. Toilet could have been cleaned more proper.

Great location, close to the canal and transport. Karmelitermarkt just over the road has some great cafes and restaurants. Taborstrasse is a great street with lovely cafes, bars and restaurants. Contor bar was a highlight, just a stones throw away with such lovely staff and natural wines. Highly recommend

The apartment was very exposed, windows looked out on to a restaurant Al fresco area. It was also quite dark, as we had to have the sheer curtains closed for privacy.

The suite was nice and spacious for 3 people. Clean, had all necessary amenities. Location is good, 15 mins away from the city center. A couple of bars around and a food market. Smooth check-in and Check-out process.

It can be a bit noisy at night if you book the street suite, especially over the weekend.

Apartment was very nice and clean, we loved the huge bathroom. The location is not far from the metro station so that's been great as well. There is also a lot of shops and great cafes near the apartment.

Apartment is on the first floor, and because of the huge windows, without the closed curtains, you feel very uncomfortable and on display. We also didn't feel comfortable putting our credit card info again into hotels check in website. Since there is a lot of scams out there, we felt like this step was not necessary, as everything was already paid via booking. They also tried to charge my card again on the day of our check in. Supposedly to authorise my card in case of cancellation, but when they tried to charged me again, it was only a few hours before our stay, so this didn't really make sense to us.

Great location, walking distance to river, Nacht market, restaurants, bars and local Spar. The courtyard apartment is spacious, beautifully decorated with incredible high ceilings. Leafy green courtyard setting (we were in room 202). The kitchenette is perfect for making coffee (Nespresso) and basic meals.

The two single beds are different densities - one is very old and saggy with a topper that doesn’t fit properly. One bed was very uncomfortable and urgently needs to be replaced along with both sets of pillows (they are so flat and worn they are not really pillows :(
