Capitol Hotel Tokyu, Tokyo

It’s a beautiful hotel with beautiful views of Tokyo. It’s very clean and the staff were very friendly.

It’s not a choice I would make again for a family hotel. They do not allow people under the age of 20 in to the pool/ gym and casual bar area. We felt a little isolated in the room while at the hotel.

Quite location, yet accessible transportation to other areas. The subway station is in the basement of the hotel. There is a beautiful shrine located outside the front of the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful with amazing views from the room. Short walk to fun resturants and bars.

The hotel provided excellent service with excellent concierge assistance. The rooms are fairly large and comfortable with oversize bathrooms. Very good access to the Tokyo Metro.

The neighborhood although very central, was somewhat less engaging than I expected. We tended to head to other areas of Tokyo, which is one of the most interesting cities.

Lowest priced 5 star hotel. Conveniently located to metro lines.

It’s located slightly north of the crazy Shibuya district, which is great to visit but I’m not so sure about staying near. It’s next to the government building areas, so it’s ever so slightly quieter (at least as far as Tokyo goes). There’s a subway station in the basement, and if you’re brave enough, all of Tokyo basically lay at your feet. We arrived rather late at night and discovered to our amazement that it is adjacent to a beautiful shrine, which was empty and dark and positively magical - buzzing with cicadas and downright enchantment. The building itself it exquisite and beautiful, with views all around. Everything you could want in a pinch is a short walk away - from convenience stores (everywhere) to walk in, quality but not pretentious restaurants. Arriving about 9pm as we did, we were starving, and within minutes wandered into a ramen place that was busy but not haughty and we proceeded to devour a sumptuous dinner. The hotel also has a glorious indoor pool and spa on the 14th floor, which opens at 6:30 and which I visited every morning for some laps and relaxation. The staff were incredible. I traveled there with my daughter, who speaks Japanese, but when she wasn’t around, they were conversant in english. Also, check out the incredible whisky bar on the 4th floor. Room was absolutely silent and clean. Comfortable beds. Incredible views. When I return to Tokyo, I shall return to the Capitol Hotel.

Beautiful, truly modern Japanese with top notch service. Every detail thought through. Quite, comfortable.

As we arrived tired after a 13.5 hr flight, we decided to eat at the hotel. The sushi omakase at the Japanese restaurant Suiren was exceptional. Highly recommend it. The hotel staff were super kind and friendly. Loved the Japanese hospitality.

Best Hotel stay we have ever experienced. The staff was super friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel was beautiful and wonderful. The beds were comfortable. We loved that the subway station was just underneath the hotel. The location was great. Everything was excellent and amazing. 10/10 we would absolutely stay here again. True Japanese hospitality at its finest.

Amazing room, spacious, great view. Tucked away enough to feel relaxing, but conveniently above a metro stop and a short walk to an amazing local street of food and bars.

Strict tattoo policy even for the gym. Unable to use onsen at all, full cover ups to be worn in the gym.

Our room on the 28th floor overlooked the Parliament and the grounds of the Imperial Palace. At night Tolyo blazed before us. The hotel sits atop four subway lines, making the city readily accessible.

Great view over the city, subway to the metro system could be accessed through the hotel really easy for sightseeing. Very good breakfast. Nice bathroom with bath & separate shower. Staff had a good understanding of English.

Everything is religiously looked after, down to the tiniest detail. The staff are all incredible. The Capitol Bar and cigar lounge are great.

The interior design of the hotel was amazing. The Origami lounge area was very serene. We had an amazing view from our room. The room was extremely clean, comfortable and we loved the Japanese style interior design. Bell desk staff were very friendly.

Check-out was quite lukewarm here considering the overall wonderful hospitality we experienced throughout Japan.

Bring back the breakfast buffet!

The Capitol Hotel Tokyu is very conveniently located on top of the subway station with 4 different metro lines. Great if you are planning to jump on the metro or go for day trips with a JR Pass. The area surrounding the hotel is clean, safe, not crowded and an easy walk. It’s a nice quiet escape after the bustling streets of Shibuya. The Premier Corner King Room is good for 3 adults and has two giant windows with a city view. It is 58 sq.m which is spacious by Tokyo standards and we had a very comfortable stay. The hotel environment is modern and pleasing with water features.

The hotel has dim ambient lighting which is fine for the lobby and common areas but it’s not great in the room - particularly the bathroom. The room could be undated with my storage space in the bathroom.
