The Old Clare Hotel, Sydney

Very nice and exceptoonal Hotel. Nice rooms with high ceilings, comfortable bed. Everything in Retro Style. Very nice rooftoop bar and rooftop Pool. Also offers a very good Option for having a delicious breakfast in the Restaurant area (try the Eggs Benedict)

The room was spacious but a bit smelly. I spoke to staff several times to see if they could do something about it - it kind of smelt like the previous night's takeaway.

Loved it all ! The rooms were fabulous and the bed was the comfiest bed I have ever slept in! We will be back.

The roof top pool is nice but when you go to swim and the bar is full of people you feel like your on view to everyone like a crayfish in a tank someone might select for dinner 😂 lack of good coffee spots close bye early in the morning a discount on drinks to people staying at the hotel would be a bonus seems you are sharing the area with everyone else that hasn’t payed to stay

The proximity to Central Station for regional and suburban travel is a major draw card for this hotel. The decor and room layout together with spaciousness is an added bonus

The design and style is gorgeous. Love the breakfast restaurant! The heated pool (vast improvement!!!) and rooftop bar. Great menu!

Can’t think of anything!

Our first time to Sydney and loved staying at the Old Clare Hotel. The rooftop pool was an amazing touch to the facility. Location was great because we were so close to so many food options. Front desk people were so helpful with everything on our stay.

The vibe of the hotel is very cool. Good location at upper end of Sydney and close to trains.

The rooftop pool was a bit of a let down - small and hardly any space to sunbathe

Unfortunately the rooftop pool bar was closed for private functions so we couldn't use very often.

All staff in varying roles were lovely and helpful during our stay (including helpfulness beforehand).

I think the upstairs pool looked bigger than it was in photos also it’s open to the public, which turns in to a loud rowdy bar. Not great for guests or children as people are drinking and partying that are not hotel guests.

Incredible staff. They go above and beyond each time I stay. Room is impeccable. Stayed an extra night.

I liked the unique building and how thoughtfully the old and modern were brought together.

The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel reception staff were excellent - very welcoming and helpful. Appreciated very much the written birthday wishes and the offer of a free drink from the bar for my wife & I to celebrate my special day.

The room was a bit smaller than I expected. The bar staff were a mix of friendly and reserved. Would have appreciated more smiles from some of them.

Rooms were quirky. Loved the upstairs downstairs idea as in future if I travel with my partner one of us can be working and the other watching TV without disturbing the other.

The bed was a little squishy / lumpy as if a large person had imprinted themselves on the mattress and the 'memory' had not been erased ... if this makes sense as an analogy
