A different experience to what you'd expect in Sydney, in a good way.
Relaxing location with fantastic views over Manly Harbour. Clean an functional rooms.
Shuttle bus service was a bit hit and miss over the weekend, but provided you were not in a hurry, it got you to where you wanted to go eventually.

Pleasant
Comfortable, secluded and relaxing
I arrived at check in time of 2pm only to be told that they had one group of cleaning staff and my room was not ready. Not good enough when I had a wedding to get ready for and was rushed.. other than that was a great stay.

Unique location, enjoyed the beach and surroundings, very peaceful
The shuttle buses were great. Staff very friendly. Peaceful, quiet and very relaxing!
Furniture on the verandah could have had a few cushions. A few cobwebs in our room but otherwise very clean.

never in summer again...
Location, absolutely stellar cocktails, food was fresh and cooked perfectly. The live music was just perfect in creating an awesome vibe.
We have stayed at the Q station a couple of times before and both times were magnificent. Unfortunately, having booked the wrong class of accommodation we were assigned a non sea view room. So we ended up in a block of rooms on what looked like open farm land with views of the toilet block and other buildings. No matter as it was my fault. The room, however became an airless sauna once you closed the main door with a woeful ceiling fan hardly up to the task. The super comfortable beds were a mute point when trying to sleep in the most uncomfortable conditions (I guess it was a quarantine station after all) The outdoor glass table was covered in grime (obviously not wiped before guests check in), an ironing board hung proudly on a wall in the room but sadly, its friend the iron was no where to be found. I left crinkly on check out. The staff presented themselves with a certain indifference (i'm kinda used to the warm and welcoming attitude, this is hospitality after all) and though they were professional enough but lacked any warmth or friendliness. Except for two shuttle bus drivers and our waitress. Being able to watch the entire dinner operation from the upper level I was surprised to see the garde manger and the dessert chef working with no gloves nor using utensils while preparing raw dishes likes salads. Kudos to the other chefs that had gloves on. It also looked like the hot lights at the pass were non operational and meals were banked up waiting for service staff to pick up. Naturally our meals arrived warmish as opposed to hot. Like all operations, there will always be issues that need to be rectified, but the Q Station is a wonderful place for an amazing weekend getaway just make sure you book a harbour view room and come in the cooler months.

Fantastic views over Sydney harbour.
We had a suite so loved that we had a small lounge area. Breakfast was good too. There is a beach near the boiler house restaurant and bar which was fantastic. Great for history buffs there were lots of signs about the quarantine station.
There is no air conditioning, we were there in February and it was during a couple of very hot days. There were ceiling fans but it still felt like a sauna when in the room. Also, You cannot park near your room and have to park in the car park and catch a shuttle bus to your room. Annoying if you have left something in the car.

Even all the dissatisfaction experiences, we would like to come agin some day! ✨
I love the view of the surrounding but not from our room. The shuttle bus service is helping and the all the staff were friendly. Just wish if we can get the view facing the sea next time.
Since the weather is hot, just hoping the fan working fine but turns out it very slow and we had to open the doors to let the wind in. Also, staying for 3 nights and didn’t get any topup from the house keeping for our toiletries such as shampoo and body wash,it’s kind of disappointing. When the house keeping came to clean our room, they not even bother to vacuum or swept the toilet floor where our hairs are on the floor and left it as messy as we leave it. Noticed the last night of our stay, someone open our door around 7-8ish maybe to do cleaning while we still asleep. My friend just freak out and feel unsecured the next morning.

Fabulous
Amazing and different experience staying in an ex-quarantine camp, now living museum. Loved the private beach.
Shuttles could run more frequently up and down to manly. Never once matched with our needs.

Basic pedestal fan saved the night
We love staying at contemporary, heritage venues, relive history, and try to get a picture of the way people use to live. And we got it in real life. The walks, views, breakfast, history, all great. Beautiful guest lounge where one could sit and enjoy conversation instead of drinking, talking, laughing in front of one's neighbours' room. Reception lady on night shift was fantastic. She brought us a basic, pedestal fan, which moved the air in the room, made enough white noise to block out the inconsiderate neighbours .
Room, as described, has no airconditioner - however, the fan did not work; the tiny vents could not function as the curtains obstruct airflow, the curtains can't be opened as people walk past your bedroom windows; neighbours sit on the deck in front of their room drink, chat and laugh and the porch light is on throughout the night - the room became stuffy and unbearably hot. If I wasn't 3h from home, I would have checked out and went home (even at 11pm). At $340 per night, the room was just not worth it on this Summersnight - Went home to R&R.

Excellent location. Very rustic rooms.
The location was great. Very quiet.
The room was very hot and uncomfortable. No windows and it wasn’t practical to keep the door open all night. The ceiling fans were ineffective.

A unique place to stay - highly recommend (as long as the weather not too hot and humid).
The seclusion, serenity, and 'unspoilt' feeling to the site. Despite being fully booked it was very quiet. It was an ideal spot to watch the New Year fireworks (albeit at a distance) without the hustle and bustle. Enjoyed a lovely 4 course dinner with wine at the restaurant 7.30 - 9.30. Saw echidnas. Historic. Very peaceful and relaxing.
Only one of the 2 (Heritage King) rooms that our party booked opened onto the front verandah. The other room was at the back of the building hence was dark and had no view (I think these 'back' rooms should be lower priced than those at the front). We were lucky with the weather (overcast, cool) as there is no air-conditioning in the rooms which, as there is very little airflow (particularly in the back room), would have been stifling if the weather had been typically summery.

Our "Isolation" room was not as pleasing as the rooms we were allocated on 2 previous stays.
