Great destination for a family weekend
Great location and good value. The museum was so informative. Loved the little beach. Shuttle buses were a real bonus. Lovely staff.
In need of a facelift. But you probably know that!

Great spot to stay at a reasonable price
A lovely view, close to Manly, lots of space in the rooms. It has a separate bedroom and lounge room and a little area in between for luggage and hanging space for clothes.
It’s a bit tired. We have stayed there a few times over the past 20 years and it feels like it hasn’t been upgraded at all in that time. The bed in P1 is a bit sagged in the middle and there is a slight mould problem in the outside (and separate) bathroom and toilet. All the rooms are clean but I would recommend the back of the bathroom door and the ceilings in the bathroom and toilet be cleaned.

Great service, great breakfast and would go again if I return to Sydney.
The location was great, with a lot of wildlife in the grounds and fascinating history of the qstation.
In my room the bathroom was external so you had to leave the room to get to the bathroom. It was ok generally but a pain if you had to go in the night. This is a minor point though and I was aware this would be the case.

Historic Location, National Park and Sydney Harbour Tranquility
The Quarantine station is part of Sydney's history and a lovely location to stay to take in the harbour, the heads and the grounds, we stayed in a Heritage King Room. Its proximity to Manly and the ferry services links the stay to everything that Sydney offers. Keep in mind that it is a historic location that comes with wear, tear and other limitations. We were aware of these limits prior to booking and had a very enjoyable stay. Free on-site parking, on-site private harbour beach and a competitive room rate.
I wouldn't say we disliked this list but you should be prepared for them. 1. The grounds are large and worth exploring and there is a shuttle service but it does take 10-15 mins to come and get you. Plan Ahead. 2. The shuttle to Manly is first come best dressed and seats 11 people. I believe they will lay on additional mini-busses if there is a large demand but you can not reserve a seat. 3. No AirCon. Fans and Windows only with little insulation. In very hot weather this could be an an issue. 4. No on-site shop for necessities.

No Air cond in room. Some Bessie lamps or such would be handy.

Fabulous
Rooms are spacious and great to have robes and slippers provided too. Staff are so lovely and it was a nice surprise to have plant based options at breakfast and at the cafe. The private beach is gorgeous - such a perfect place to unwind! Interesting visitor centre about the history of the site too. What a fabulous, unique stay!
The room was pretty stuffy as there isn't air con. Given that this is remote location, a mini bar with some options in the fridge would have been helpful on arrival.

Lovely location and great historical significance
Lovely location and exclusive feel to the whole property. The shuttle to each of the different accommodation blocks is super helpful. Staff were great.
Ceiling fan in the room was not super effective against hot Aussie temperatures unless it was on highest settling which was a bit noisy. And lack of windows made it difficult to avoid the room getting stuffy overnight.

It was wonderful and we win be back again for another 10 days later this year.
The location was perfect, the room was ok but no air conditioning which was disappointing coming from WA most venues are air conditioned I would have thought but maybe that is just the west coast. The view was nice looking at the bush. The walk down to the wharf cafe, beach and restaurant was nice, we got to spend the day there hiring kayaks when not having appointments.
I did not like the stuffy room without air-conditioning and on Saturday night we caught the shuttle from our room to Manly but external beach goers had got a ride from the wharf to the reception before us, so we went out to dinner with wet bottoms after sitting on the seat after them.

Chose location for uniqueness, location and history

I enjoyed my stay very much and will be back
Wonderful views of Sydney Harbour, very peaceful, within walking distance of Sydney Harbour National Park. Very easy to access COD Sydney.

A fascinating and comfortable place to stay.
This is a comfortable and interesting place to stay, full of Australian immigrant history and with great facilities. The history tour was well worth taking, and Hannah, our guide, was excellent. The shuttle bus from Manly made it easily accessible from Sydney as the pick-up point is close to the ferry terminal, so we had no need of a car. The site is on a steep hill so the accommodation area is a short uphill walk from the cafe and restaurant but the friendly staff with their pickup buses were always at hand to give us lifts around the Q station area. Fabulous beach for swimming.
We were disappointed with our room initially so the staff had no problems changing us to a room with a sea view, which was what we wanted. The restaurant was closed the first two evenings of our stay- on Mondays and Tuesdays. This hadn't been outlined in the Booking.com information.

Great Place to visit. Great experience and great to understand some Australian history.
The staff were a standout. Really lovely hospitality culture from the front desk and definitely including the internal coach drivers. Nothing was too much trouble and they were all super helpful in facilitating us seeing the Q Station and the local area. The Q Station tour was excellent and well worth doing.
The breakfast could have been a bit better for the price, but I'm nit picking a bit (i.e. it was fine, but I would probably go and spend the same amount in local cafe and get something a bit better value). The bathrooms etc.. obviously don't have the '5 star' feel, but this is completely understandable given the heritage constraints in what they can do with the buildings.

Great location would definitely stay again
Fantastic location Room was great
We had an external private bathroom but next time I stay I will get a room with a bathroom in the room

Can’t wait to go back!!
Loved the location!!! View was amazing. Staff were amazing, transport was brilliant and I loved it!
Going out to go to the loo wasn’t fab, but manageable .
17 February 2025
Cheeky lil overnighter
The location and history. Our room was quaint, and even though the bathroom was out on the balcony, it added to the character of the place. The breakfast was tasty, but watch out for the opportunistic scrub turkeys and magpies if you’re eating on the balcony! We stayed 1 night, and feel that you probably wouldn’t need any longer.
17 February 2025
Awesome. We will be back!
Iconic location and heritage gives the Q Station an awesome vibe. The staff are very accomodating and helpful and ensured that we had a very good experience.
The taps for the shower dripped and the room was quite stuffy overnight. Although the ceilings are nice and high, room ventilation could be improved to enable the heat build-up from the day to escape either through improved vents or a window that can be left open with fly wire to prevent insects from getting in.
16 February 2025
Unique accommodation
Unique accommodation! Not a usual hotel as the rooms are spread out over the site. Loved walking round reading all the history of each building - really fascinating!
Completely understand environmental aspect but having no air conditioning might be a consideration if staying in the heat of summer. Was ok for us as the fan was enough to keep room cool overnight.
16 February 2025
Value for money accommodation in a beautiful location and a historical site.
Location in the Sydney Harbour NP. Right in the middle of a historic site. The shuttle system available. The price. Excellently priced breakfast.
Hilly site and amenities spread around.
16 February 2025
Enjoyed my stay.
Breakfast was great and loved the location.
Museum closed at 4pm on Saturday & not open till 10am on Sunday. Had to call to get sofa bed made up. Would have liked this information before so I could have planned my arrival for earlier in the day.
16 February 2025
Great location, room was quiet. Shuttle bus availability good. Parking not great.
Room was a bit worse for wear. Stained carpet.Would be good to have a USB port in the room for charging. Remote for the fan would be good. Bathroom could be a bit cleaner.
14 February 2025
Fabulous
Basic facilities but charming and atmospheric buildings. Location remote from manly but setting was spectacular and situated in national park which made for a lovely stay.

Not having a coffee shop
4 February 2025
Secluded, tranquil, excellent
The location was excellent right in the middle of the bush. Accomodation was good. There was a close beach that was essentially private (only guests and intrepid outsiders there). Proximity to Manly meant that food options were extensive when the restaurant wasn't operating

Very good
Beautiful location
Room was hot
4 February 2025
Fabulous
Stunning setting and super interesting- wish I had longer there to explore more
It was quite run down. A lick of paint, some maintenance and slight modernising of the interior accomodation would make it feel incredibly luxurious without taking away the heritage charm.
3 February 2025
Very good
Wasn’t a massive fan of having to go outside to use the toilet in the middle of the night after doing the ghost tour haha would love to know if there is rooms with toilets in them for future stays!
1 February 2025
A wonderful spot and one we will return to.
excellent site and wonderful staff. The beach was beautiful. The onsite restaurant and bar was excellent and the food was very good.
no issues

Not worth the money, but all staff were amazing!!!!
We came for the tour and to stay overnight…. The tour guides were really great! Both Deb and Simon did a great job x
My husband and I are not old by any means (46) but having us 2 in a group of 8 x 18 year olds was not great, we were there trying to experience things for the first time in the paranormal investigation tour…. It was very off putting having the younger group constantly talking over the guides trying to help out experience. I would suggest tours for 18 to 30 and 30+ perhaps???? For about $750, for dinner, tour and breakfast and 1 nights stay…. I wouldn’t recommend it…
29 January 2025
Very good
Fantastic location , great history, great staff
Accomodation was very basic , we had a room with no air con. It was very hot and fan was only just adequate. Get a room with air con if weather is hot.
27 January 2025
Loved the experience! Would highly recommend for locals and tourists alike. Will be back!
Great location Very quiet Surrounded by beauty - National park, wildlife, & harbour views. Spectacular! East to walk but the shuttle is also a great idea. Additionally, the shuttles down to Manly are an excellent idea! Great breakfast at the View restaurant- worth adding to your room stay. Sunset sessions on Saturdays-brilliant idea!
Appreciate might be costly to run, but having a small air-con in the smaller rooms would be good. Rooms can get very stuffy once you close the French doors. Unfortunately, they need to be closed at night due to the bugs etc.

Pleasant
Old hair dryer doesn't work, no AC on very hot day, expensive restaurant.
