Ace Hotel, Sydney

The staff was friendly, helpful and fun. Cannot say enough positive things about them!!! Hotel is located in Surry Hills, in walking distance from the train station and Hyde Park. Great vibe.

The lighting in the room was driving me crazy. lol. Mood lighting in the shower and toilet area - barely enough to see! Shaving legs ? Forget about it! Also, when you turned one light off, another one went on. One light was on all night - only way to shut all lights off was to pull the keycard - which shuts off the A/C.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a unique and thoughtfully curated design in every corner. The restaurants are excellent, and we were lucky to enjoy a weekend with fantastic live music. The staff is very friendly and attentive. After staying at the Ace in New York and Sydney, our next destination is Japan!

We booked two large rooms, but one was noticeably smaller than the other. Although the staff made an effort to offer a replacement, we didn’t quite get what we originally reserved. Housekeeping didn’t vacuum the room during our stay.

The reception staff actively found me a room knowing I’d arrived very early in the morning after a 26 hour commute from London. They also accommodated me for an extra night when there was the fire at Heathrow. Their cafe and room service was amazing- I dare you to find a better breakfast and the bed and pillows! Even when dealing with uk to au jetlaf they made all the difference.

I have told all the friends who came to Sydney for the same event as me that they should have booked the ace. This was my second visit and I love everything about it. The reception, cafe and bar staff are lovely, the rooms are clean and so well designed and comfortable and the service is fab. There is nothing I don’t like about it - I’ve been so well taken care of. The only disaster was a fire alarm at 8am when id been up at a party quite late the night before but totally out of their control and they got us back to our rooms really quickly.

A great stay in a terrace room. Thank you to all the staff for making the trip extra special! There’s a great bar downstairs and all the facilities you’d need. Big plus having an ice machine too!

A really lovely hotel with beautiful design features, handy restaurants and helpful staff. Easy access to Central Station, Haymarket and China Town.

Hip, well furnished and appointed rooms and facilities in a great central location. Enjoyed a lovely dinner at Kiln the upstairs restaurant.

Lighting in room a little dark in shower and toilet. Very hard to see in the night, a very dim sensor night light would be good.

Front entrance was not wheelchair accessible, not sure if there was an alternate entrance which was. Staff were very helpful with suitcases.

The Pillows hurt my neck

We had a great stay here. The interior and facilities are new. The room is quiet and clean. With washing machine and kitchen, it’s very convenient for laundry and cooking.

Wonderful hotel, staff were certainly helpful. Room was spotless and comfortable. Great view high up and the room had everything you needed. I didn’t make it up to the roof bar, but the one downstairs was very nice and had breakfast in the restaurant.

The location to the station was good, but it rained a lot. No problem, hotel offered to rent umbrellas which is did.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and great vibe 🙂 We had last minute changes to out stay and the team were so accommodating, and even got to check in early as the room was ready! Located conveniently to delicious restaurants and visit-worthy cafes for tourists.

Such a cool hotel! Great vibes, friendly, welcoming staff, excellent food and coffee and well located. Loved everything, drank the coolade, will be back!

I liked the artful vibe. Everything you could possibly need/want right at your fingertips.

I wish there was a smidge more room so have my luggage open so that I could easily access my things without having it open on the small floor layout.

Convenient location within a short walk to Central Station and nice restaurants. The bar downstairs was a great bonus.

The bedroom was on the smaller side (we were hardly there but if you had/needed time in the room there wasn't much space)

The Ace hotel is a vibe and one stop hotel. The rooms were fabulous, mini bar had a huge variety at fair prices. Cafe, restaurant and a bar that is open til late is on site. Staff were excellent and accommodating.

style, thoughtful touches like a dark flannel for taking off make up, well placed power points for doing hair, healthy menu options. really good pillows and comfortable beds.

We were there for the Ace hotel laneway party so expected better access to and from the laneway for hotel guests

The location and the easiness of sitting downstairs for a drink or a coffee

The cocktails were not strong enough. And twice we tried to have a drink upstairs at the bar but it had shut early because it wasn't that busy.

The hotel doesnt provide sleepers so had to get it next door, will be great if Ace can at least stock some good quality ones for sale. Housekeeping is probably not the best in the league I’m afraid, the cleaners forgot to clear out the garbages for several times (thinking they might not know it was garbage so we placed it right beside the bin).

We were well taken care of at the hotel. The room was amazing, and the food at Kiln was excellent!

I really enjoyed my stay at Ace Hotel Sydney. The location is excellent, and the F&B options within the hotel are a standout, especially the restaurant on the 18th floor and the bar—both offering a great atmosphere, delicious food, and drinks. The young guy at reception who checked me in was absolutely fantastic—super friendly, welcoming, and exactly the kind of person you want to see in hospitality. More staff like him would make a big difference!

However, there are some areas that need improvement. The lighting in the room was insufficient, particularly in the bathroom, toilet, and wardrobe area where the mirror is—it was way too dim, making it difficult to get ready. Also, the room itself was extremely small, barely enough space even for one person.

Would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to book again. Beds were super comfortable, central location, all in all a great hotel.

After a small hiccup in our check in process, manager went above and beyond including a complimentary ungraded room, and drinks. Much more than we would expect in such a situation.

Wow factor +. Funky cool vibes with the incredible convenience of a great bar and two restaurants on site. That and a 6 minute Uber ride to our venue - loved it.

No conspire carpark nor drop off zone. Comes with the inner city location of course. But it was pure luck we got a carpark on a busy weekend. Would have been a spoiler if we had not.
