Great vibes, cool decor, friendly helpful staff, well appointed room

Amazing atmosphere, stylish, comfortable furnishings, friendly people, amazing food and service. We felt so welcome and at home during our stay. I wanted to move in!

A couple of minor housekeeping things - a toothbrush and tissues from the previous guest were left in the room, and the radio didn't work - but didn't detract from our experience.

Fabulous room with so many thoughtful little touches that we appreciated. Great location for exploring the CBD and Chinatown. Breakfast downstairs at Loam was delicious. Will definitely be back 😊

Very stylish hotel in a great location.

Nothing. Only disappointment was the upstairs restaurant was closed on a Sunday.

First time travelling with our puppy and just loved the service the friendly staff from the moment we arrived the hotel is gorgeous m. We will be staying there again!

They allowed us to check in (after they found a room) at 9am when we arrived, which, after a 22hr flight journey, was amazingly perfect. The room was silent (even though the piles of glassware from the rooms next door signalled they had very fun and loud evenings!). There was plenty of storage, and great amenities in the room. And the room was gorgeous! Everything we could have asked for, done exceptionally well!

We ordered room service for breakfast which was delivered quickly and professionally and utterly delicious. It was so good we did it again the next morning :) Beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space for what we needed. Loved the big shower, hot water never gave up. Block out curtains made sure we slept in way longer than we usually do, making it a great holiday. Really great bar downstairs just in case you didn't want to go far for anything, but close to some fantastic restaurants and public transport.

Great location, friendly staff and the on site cafe and restaurant/bar were excellent. The aesthetic was well delivered on down to the small details.

I wish the shower and toilet had brighter lights or they were on a dimmer like the rest of the room. The dim lighting was a bit claustrophobic.

Retro chic

Small check in area just at the entrance. A little cramped during busy times. Have to drag luggage up 4 steps to get to lifts.

The ace hotel is an exceptionally cool, lax and comfy hotel. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, including the restaurant, friendly staff, and uber cool room. I enjoyed the turntable and speaker in the room, including the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, gorgeous views, and the king-size lounge and king-size bed. My only regret is not staying for a few more nights! What a treasure.

I wish the hotel had a swimming pool and spa.

Lights for wc and shower not at obvious locations, the door of wc and shower not full height, could hear noise from water pipes from another room, so basically the design of the wet areas could be improved

We love Ace, stay most the time we visit Sydney. Rooms are great, love the location. Can’t fault it, we always come back!

Nothing to Complain

As a first timer it appeared well placed for someone like myself who likes to venture without much of a purpose. I found nearby coffee houses with ease, although necessitating welcomed and frequent changes in elevation, abundant parks with trees so tall they seemed to have had their inception during the jurassic period, and vistas of trains, and train crossings, adding a pleasant feeling to the city. For what is worth mentioning in the room itself, begin by thinking of a bunker recently updated with modern amenities - concrete ceilings, the thank-the-heavens-its-back-in style rust coloured carpets to host the bed, surrounded on one side by soft earth toned brick flooring, and cream coloured flowing blinds across the window on the other. There was also a marble basin, flute bathroom windows, light-coloured bricks, and emerald tiles to compliment the rain shower. The restaurant on the top floor, Kiln, cannot be rendered to any words created in written language, its simply an indescribable must experience aesthetic for the senses.

In the night I found myself searching for the light switches on the lights above the bed head like an old man needing to find his glasses on the side table in the morning. There should be switches on the side tables rather than the lights themselves. Perhaps I did not look hard enough, but there was no light in the bathroom. Although its much part of the room, out of habit or otherwise, I prefer to have the door closed when sitting on the toilet. For difficult sleepers such as myself, small plastic coverings that can be shifted to hide the green lights that made me feel like I was back at a psytrance rave in the early 2000s, would be appreciated, or perhaps a light killswitch that keeps the other features of the room running, such as the AC or fridge. Have a soft pillow option. I think there must be a mandate across hotels to have a certain thickness of pillows, which is too much; they are both too heigh and too hard, there must be a healthy medium.

Location was close to all amenities and good restaurants. convenience store 30 metres up the road. Central station easy walk away. I liked, particularly, the guitar in the room. That was a first for me and I'm 76!

This is a wonderful, beautifully designed hotel in an ideal location for exploring Sydney. The staff is exceptionally friendly and made our stay truly memorable. You can enjoy a delicious breakfast in the restaurant and relax with a cocktail in the evening while taking in the city views. If we ever have the chance to visit Sydney again, we will definitely return to this hotel.

This time the cleaners had oversprayed room spray which was over powering. Aircon took care of it in an hour.
