This is a very fun hotel! Our room had a vinyl player so we brought our own vinyls to use which really elevated the experience. The room design is very thoughtful. Plenty of storage areas and places to put your bags. Great location, would definitely return again.

The reception was incredibly busy as there were only two staffed rostered on when there probably needed to be at least 4-5. Minor complainant but makes asking questions at the front desk a bit difficult.

Very low lighting which made it difficult to get ready. I couldn’t find the hair dryer and it was instant coffee, I would have expected a coffee machine in this style of accommodation and price point.

I like Ace Hotel for its location, relative new, the rooms are clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. It has a casual up market vibe; not too serious.

The property was in a great location and the bar inside was lovely! Staff were very friendly and happy to help with any questions and the rooms were spacious and clean.

Absolutely loved our stay! The atmosphere was effortlessly cool and welcoming. The record player in the room was such a fun touch — we spent hours listening to a great mix of vinyls. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, made of natural fabrics that felt fresh and cozy. Every detail made the stay feel thoughtful and unique. Can’t wait to come back!

Honestly, when the checkout survey asked what I didn’t like, nothing came to mind. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Lighting was very dark in bathroom!

Location is perfect, love being on the edge of the city and close to Surry Hills restaurants. Quiet and easy to walk everywhere. Funky industrial aesthetic. Beds were comfy. Happy hour cocktail in downstairs lounge was delicious!

Our room was not made up on the second day, housekeeping arrived at 4.30pm and we’d arrived back in room to get ready to go out again so that was disappointing. The roof top bar being closed on Sunday night was annoying. No parking. Carpet was fraying near tiles. Didn’t love the blankets as bed covers.

Check-in is easy, the rooms are well maintained and comfortable. While some can be on the smaller side, for a little extra cost, you can enjoy much larger and more comfortable rooms. There are three options for dining, from the fancier Kiln to the casual Loam or, for a quick daytime coffee, an excellent cafe. I’ve never used the bar on the ground level, but it has a nice buzz of an evening. Location wise, it’s on the fringe of downtown and adjacent to vibrant Surry Hills. It’s a great spot.

I had to rush to check out and it took longer than usual at a peak period.

Really fun hotel. Lots of luscious textural layering throughout the hotel. Excellent mini bar choices. Lovely high ceilings in the rooms. Good dining options.

Immaculately clean. Beautiful decor and such vibrant lively fun surroundings! The downstairs bar was full and inviting, incredible martini and views from the roof.

My bedroom door would make a lot of noise. I wedged a flannel in it to stop it moving.

Location and room size

Room wasn’t cleaned until 7pm one night and 6pm another. Level of clean wasn’t great either - dirty towels left behind and cleaning cloths also left in the room.

Location was perfect

The floor of the room was very dirty with dust balls on the entrance and on the skirting board. This should be cleaned properly before new guests.

Great style. Very aesthetic, and super clean. Staff were extremely helpful. Great location, convenience store a short walk down the street.

No parking available on site, had to park in a seperate building and walk, made difficult with multiple bags

Love the concept of the hotel. The restaurant and bar are nice. Good food, but I couldn’t leave this review without mentioning the staff. They were amazing, friendly, polite. Highly recommend

The hotel is very stylish and has a cool atmosphere, love every little details in the room. The restaurants and bar are all very nice too and the food and cocktails are to the expected standard. The stuff is all very friendly

Few minor things can be improved like there is no light on the closet (and it really needs one), and after cleaning the room they would not replace things like coffe or tea bags so we had to ask the reception for more.

Very comfortable Attention to detail New York vibes.. home away from home

Location was great, within easy walking distance to the Sydney art gallery, botanic gardens and harbour. Absolutely loved how quiet the room was, a huge plus for a light sleeper. Pillows were also fantastic and not gigantic firm abominations as some hotels tend to go for looks and not comfort. Very much appreciated the ability to leave our bags there as we waited for check in. The bar in the hotel on ground level had a great range of tequilas. Also its proximity to a hidden gem of a coffee/muffin place tucked behind the AFP building.

It was super peculiar, we had a male knock on our door and say 'House keeping' in the late afternoon and try to open the door - it sounded like they had a card that worked. Eeek! We said we didn't want anything and they didn't come in and left. We didn't hear any other rooms being asked for housekeeping.
