Ace Hotel, Sydney

The style of the hotel, the food was amazing and the ambience. The gym was great, used it both days and 'the kiln' rooftop restaurant was fantastic!

There was renovations nearby, but it turned out to be ok as there was no noise!

First impressions from the road, rrecoption was a little dark. However, much nicer when inside.

Great location. Plenty of options for dinner. The rooftop bar is amazing. All of the staff were excellent, customer service was amazing.

Lobby bar had a great vibe, decor quite nice throughout. Staff very friendly, good location.

Pillows and bed were not overly comfortable, not bad, just not amazing. Medium room felt quite small. No coffee pods or Nespresso machine. At that price point you would normally see one in the room.

This place is amazing wow! The interior design throughout the entire hotel is on point. From the in room record player with selected records, to the high concrete ceilings, there wasn’t anything to dislike about this place except for some shoddy pillows aha!

Funky design, great position near good cafes, shops, Chinatown, Hyde Park - and easy walk from Central train station. Very, very appreciative that staff let us check in early when a room was available - a truly welcome bonus after an uncomfortable overnight train trip - thank you!!

Upstairs bar and restaurant a bit TOO cool and taking themselves too seriously - didn’t make hotel guests feel terribly welcome (but it was the complete opposite at the stunning marble bar downstairs)

Delicious breakfast - perfect hangover cure! Bed was so comfy and luxurious, whole room felt really chic and cozy. Great location in Surrey Hills.

More hanging space/storage space for clothes please.

Had everything we needed. Loved the shower. Comfortable bed. Loved the bar downstairs in the lobby, great atmosphere. Good location. Everything was clean and tidy. Loved the layout and design of the room. Decent view of the city for where it was located. The boys loved the birthday note and free drinks, it made their day so much better. In all I think we would come back here, not so much for the city but just for this hotel.

Only being abit picky here but i feel like i might have some valid points. It would have been nice if the bar fridge wasnt so packed, had no room to put our own drinks. Had to buy water down the road because the bar fridge didnt offer water. The staff didnt tell us which floor in the elevator to go to we just had to guess based on our room number. The lobby has stairs, abit inconvenient if you have luggage with wheels. The hotel doesn't offer parking unfortunately so you'll have to walk 5 minutes down the road to a payed parking garage, if you can get a park in there. The terrace is lovely, wouldn't recommend at night though as its riddled with cockroaches. Overpriced food. The room isn't as sound proof as you think.

I did not like it - I LOVED IT. Every element. The best of Sydney's helpful humans work here, with no exceptions. Practically perfect in every way. Bar and restaurant and cafe areas are gorgeous. Food and bevvies were divine. Location is outstanding - Just moments South of Hyde Park.

I can not identify anything whatsoever to not like - And, for me, that is saying something!!! I can be inclined to be a hyper critic ... But, not with this establishment. It simply rocks.

The overall feel of the property was lovely! It was cosy and moody throughout from the front desk to the rooftop bar - It had plenty of facilities including a restaurant, cafe and rooftop bar.

We had originally booked a standard room which was nice - we had a few incidents with cleaners taking our belongings, leaving the door open and leaving another guests bloody (used) pads on our belongings. This was soon followed by an upgrade of room which was appreciated.

Room was nice, great view. Breakfast was good, although not included in my room rate. Gym was nice, small, but good equipment.

I wouldn't say it's 5star service

Great location, close to plenty of bars and cafes and to shopping/touristy things. Nice decor. Having a gym in the building is always great. Super friendly staff. Tasty breakfast and great coffee.

Wasn’t crazy on the dinner in the restaurant up top. Also rooftop bar wasn’t really what we expected. We had a terrace room but it was a little noisy with renovations going on so we didn’t really use it much.

Early check-in and later check out time were great

The Opera House is about 20 minutes by walk. It was at Christmas time, basically no restaurant was open in the area.

The hotel was very fun with a great vibe, decor and atmosphere. Our room was clean and comfortable but a little crowded for three adults. The location was excellent with lots of nice restaurants and pubs nearby.

Design, bat and restaurant all very high end. Love all the interiors and the high end products. Love the aesthetic. The food in the downstairs area was very well priced and yummy. Yummy cocktails in both bars.

No movies or Netflix, old tv. (The Qt has movies and TV etc) For breakfast the staff were really bad. Slow service too forever and the coffee was really bad. Sorry I’m a coffee snob. Mecca coffee is very bitter or maybe it was burnt as barista wasn’t great. I had two breakfasts. I work in events and hospitality so I might be a tough critic. Bar fridge is very small.

Love the design of this hotel and how friendly the team are and how how cool the lobby bar is. Always meet interesting people when I stay here.

There isn't a pool which is a bummer on a hot day.

We didn’t receive a welcome note which is ok (was not expecting it) however we did find a welcome note addressed to a previous guest where the hotel info, blank paper, pencil is stored from a previous stay. For a 5 star hotel small details are important and this was missed. We didn’t feel as special :(

Exceptional stay in central Sydney / Surry Hills at the Ace Hotel. Super modern, cool decor, and really comfortable with great amenities (e.g. really comfy bed and massive shower!). We loved our stay and would definitely be back. Shout out to the baristas in the ground floor cafe who make a banging coffee, and to the reception staff who were incredibly friendly and even let us check in a few hours early after a long overnight flight. Recommend for couples looking for a trendy base to explore Sydney!

The hotel is lovely and the bar downstairs is a great spot for a drink before dinner, or on the way up to your room.

The check in service was not very smooth. We were delayed in getting to our company function while the front desk worked things out.

Great decor, good vibe, very comfortable

The low light for applying make up, the lack of hooks for hanging towels, and the ridiculous delay in room availability. We didn’t get in until about 6 and I had to actively follow-up with the reception people - thankfully we could enjoy the wait drinking happy hour cocktails and people watching in the bar. The bar staff were excellent. We will be back though

The bed was very comfortable, well stocked mini bar which we didn’t use. I would describe the hotel as bougie, designed for a younger crowd

Very dark lighting. We didn’t like the bathroom- this was the entrance to the room. & toilet & shower extremely darkly lit, not enough storage for clothes. Definitely not 5 star, it is over priced

Gorgeous designer hotel. So well located to the centre of the city and the fashionable Surry Hills area. Very nice design in the room and enormous comfy bed.

The room was excellent! Very comfortable and clean and beautifully decorated. It was a really great place to stay for one night while on business.

I thought the size of the room was quite small for the price. And it would have been nice to have a little more privacy on the terrace between the other guests. But it was otherwise lovely.
