Great location on a peaceful leafy square 100m from an underground station that’s straight into central sights in a few minutes.
Staff are amazing rooms excellent. The breakfast is the best we’ve seen in many a hotel. All in all superb.

Exquisitely appointed boutique hotel with a cozy and inviting design concept. In a quiet neighborhood outside the touristic crush and convenient to Södermalm restaurants and bars. Metro stop is less than 5 minutes walk with Slussen 1 stop away, Gamla Stan 2 stops, and T-Centralen 4 stops. Excellent breakfast with both buffet and à la carte, served in a lovely space. Courteous and professional staff throughout the property.

The hotel has no negatives.

We had a spacious room in a great location. The breakfast was outstanding.

I can’t think of anything that we did not like about the property.

Hotel located in a charming area, with a theater and a bar at the entrance that give it a very special atmosphere. The staff is young, friendly, and always helpful.

One night I spilled tea on the bed, and the cleaning lady, Claudia, kindly came to change the sheets; she was very polite and attentive.

I recommend it to everyone: it is a hotel full of charm, where you can truly feel the Swedish cinematic culture. The breakfast is varied and of excellent quality.

Excellent breakfast, the room was clean and very cosy with an awesome view at the park. We were lucky enough to see some snow the days we spent there. The shower was amazing, pressure, cleanliness and amenities were spot on.

Great location, beautiful hotel room on the 6th floor with a balcony and a view, the bed was heavenly, the lounge area and the breakfast was excellent.

A warm reception greeted us on arrival and staff went out of their way to recommend and book good local restaurants - all of which were excellent and within walking distance. The hotel was very well located being a fifteen minute walk from the interesting Gamla Stan. We all enjoyed relaxing in the stylish comfortable bar areas and there were excellent well presented breakfast buffet choices

The room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding and the ability to order Swedish pancakes fresh made was very yummy. Fresh fruit, cookies and coffee/tea were available 24/7. Every time you walked through the lobby, the front desk staff treated you as the most important guest there.

WiFi was slow and inadequate.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Rival. Our rooms were lovely, large and beautifully decorated. We stayed on one of the higher floors with a view of the park and skyline beyond and it was gorgeous. Everyone at the hotel was very kind, helpful and solicitous of our needs, going out of their way to be helpful. Especially a receptionist and concierge agent named Michelle who had many excellent recommendations. The housekeeping took care of our rooms and everything was clean and cozy. Breakfast was great and even included a surprise chef on hand for some specialties. We loved this neighborhood and found it very convenient, a few blocks from the metro and very walkable to a cool area. I didn’t want to go home! I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Hotel Rival in Stockholm. From the moment I arrived, Cecilia from the front staff was warm, attentive, and professional, making me feel immediately welcome. My room was spotless, beautifully designed, and very comfortable, with thoughtful details that made a real difference.

The hotel’s location is excellent for exploring the city, and I loved how peaceful and relaxing it felt once I was back at the property. Breakfast was a highlight – fresh, varied, and delicious, with something for every taste.

What stood out most was the genuine hospitality of the team, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. I will definitely return on my next visit to Stockholm and would gladly recommend Hotel Rival to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay.

Great location, spacious room, and truly wonderful front desk

The shower was poorly designed

This is a very nice hotel but I do not understand the bed system. Two twin beds pushed together just never makes sense to me. How do people snuggle up? The two beds would just push apart and create a giant gap to fall into!
Another hotel we stayed at had two twin foundations, but the top layer was a single unit so nobody fell off the bed! And there was no gap.

We felt at home at Hotel Rival. It is located on Mariatorget, a square full of trees and a gorgeous fountain, close to the metro stop with the same name.

Our room (319) had wooden floors and wall coverings and two curtains that muffled sounds. The bed was comfortable, the best we had during our time in Sweden. There’s also a dvd-player in the room, with a small music and film selection, which of course includes ‘ABBA Gold’.

The breakfast was delicious - great coffee, ginger shots, tasty loaves of bread covered in seeds, and a side menu you can order from for free.

You might hear your upstairs neighbour strut their heels over the wooden floors.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the hoteL The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were cosy and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the selection of CD's and the sound system.
The location is very good, in the center of Södermalm and close to public transport.

In comparison with other hotels with similar quality, the prize is at the higher end.

I booked based on TripAdvisor rating of 9.8 This is a well deserverved rating.
Breakfast was great! Champagne ibcluded. Excellent selection.

Great location to get the subway. 1 1/2 blocks away. Can get anywhere in Stockholm area from there.

Quiet neighborhood location with shops and restaurants nearby. Nice park across the street.

Front desk staff are wonderful, especially Michelle and Richard. Love to go back to the Hotel RivaL

We could not stay longer as we already had plans to move on.
