It was in a great location. It has a lovely garden and lots of places to sit - and the rooms are small, but well appointed.

There wasn’t anything not to like!

This hotel is a little island of tranquility in a busy and frenetic city. The gardens were heavy with scented blooms, lots of chairs and tables and a manicured lawn (complete with robot lawnmower!) The pool is small but soothing, as is the hot tub. Unfortunately we weren't able to sample breakfast properly but the warm, welcoming and friendly staff prepared breakfast-bags-to-go for us, which were lovely. The location is great for walking. The hotel is within easy reach of cafes, restaurants and artisan shops. It's also a comfortable walk to many of Palermo's main sights, e.g. the Four Corners.

We were only sorry that we weren't able to stay longer. If we're ever in Palermo again, we will 100% be back!

The hotel courtyard, the size of the room and the proximity to local bars and restaurants. The hotels restaurant recommendations very very good.

Shower in room very small but that was due to the fact we have a whirlpool bath.

Wonderful gardens, tasty breakfast, comfortable room. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful and took very good care of us. Great location, and easy to access the sights of Palermo. Recommend!

What's not to like?

Lovely small hotel with beautiful grounds and comfortable accommodation. Very friendly staff. We stayed in a basic room set in the walls of the fort which was perfect for our stay. We had a large comfortable bed and large shower in the bath room. The pool is lovely to dip into after a day sightseeing and the hot tub perfect for relaxing. There are plenty of sun beds and comfortable seating on the lawn by the pool. Breakfast is great with a good selection of food. Location is also very good as only a short stroll from the old town and the harbour. Overall it is a little oasis and a perfect hotel to relax in.

Lovely hotel with a beautiful little garden. Quiet and peaceful. Superb service, very helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast. Very comfortable room. Excellent beds and shower.

The hotel is clean and interesting because it has a beautiful garden, plenty of chairs, and sun loungers. The location is excellent.

Room space is quite plain, and apart from the garden, the hotel doesn’t offer any other amenities. Unfortunately, we had bad luck with the weather in Palermo, and there really aren’t any additional facilities in the hotel. The room is small, has no window, and features an entrance door with a small outdoor seating area in front of it (which wasn’t usable due to the weather). The breakfast is very limited, with no freshly prepared hot dishes.

Beautiful, quality, boutique bed and breakfast. Stunning bedroom and a superb breakfast. Easy walking to town centre and lovely square and restaurants within 5 minutes. A little gem that I would instantly return too.

Great location for parking up just inside the ZTL and an easy walk into the centre. Parked the car in the street and didn’t move it until we left. Lovely rooms and friendly staff. Paolo was especially friendly and helpful when we arrived. There is a small outdoor pool, but it was a bit cool for us in early March.

There was nothing we disliked

From booking to leaving communication with the hotel was prompt and helpful. Great location and easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants and bars. A little oasis of calm in the city. Accommodation was perfect. Bathroom was stunning and toiletries were high quality. On arrival we were welcomed and felt very special. The staff are amazing. Very friendly and helpful. We were celebrating a birthday and they made us feel very special. Room was clean and serviced daily. Breakfast was fabulous. Great selection of pastries etc. We were over the moon with everything and the hotel and staff made our stay even more special.

The hotel fully lived up to its claims, we only stayed one night but on the strength of this visit would be happy to go back. The staff were very helpful from booking an airport taxi to helping navigate signing up for electronic tickets for transport

Hotel is well situated within minutes walk from the old town . There are some bars and restaurants directly near the Hotel. Staff at the Hotel is very friendly and responsive. I would highly recommend this Hotel.

Charming historic property in the bohemian Kalsa district. Very professionally updated to a modern and comfortable contemporary hotel. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast is excellent. The staff are very professional and helpful. And the courtyard around the hotel means that it is an oasis of peacefulness in a lively part of the city.

Staff was great, the hotel grounds with pool, hot tub and relaxing sitting area were great, and the breakfast was very nice. Close to water and short walk to sites - it was a good choice.

The entrance was a little hidden. No signage. Just a metal wall with a door hiding property.

All of the food was wonderful. The owners daughter, Carola, treated us so well at dinner. Finding special wines for us to enjoy.

Heated pool

This was our second visit here which shows how much we like it. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is superb with fresh fruit, amazing array of pastries, cheese, etc. Lovely staff make coffee as you wish to have it. The bedroom is large and airy and ours has a small terrace enclosed by bamboos where we could sit and relax. Overall an excellent hotel.

Leaving!

Yolanda at the reception was amazing! She gaves us plenty of useful info about the city, helped with booking dinner, called our next destination to clarify things for us, and so much more! We’re very grateful! Breakfast area was cosy and choices were good. Suggest to include more veggies and fruit choices as well as artisanal bread. Central to all, yet quiet with windows closed.

Bastione spasimo is an absolutely beautiful and charming boutique hotel. The staff were extremely warm, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Located less than a 10 minute walk from Kalsa , it was very easy to navigate without needing transport. Lots of food and shops close by. Absolutely stunning property, would stay here again and again.

Location - bit of a scary walk to the hotel at night from palermo centrale if you are travelling alone. I would recommend you stay here if you are 2+ ppl

I can only give this hotel and its staff the highest of praise. Friendly, helpful, and creating a sense of "us" at this hotel. I will always recommend this to anyone that plans to visit Palermo. Me and my wife will be back, without a doubt.
