EME Catedral Hotel, Seville

Friendly staff super location fabulous roof bar with excellent views of the cathedral.

we didn't eat breakfast
we did have a lovely evening meal at the hotel though so I am sure breakfast would have been great as well.
it was our 42nd wedding anniversary and we received a room upgrade which was fantastic and we had some lovely chocolates waiting for us in our suite.
The staff were so helpful and attentive which always bodes well.

We would have preferred a hotter shower.

Breakfast buffet was disappointing, room at the front ei died did not close properly so was very noisy.

Hotel sells itself as a 5* but is a 4* considering the standards of the place which needs refurbishment. Also only one bottle of water offered a day, no kettle, only a coffee machine

We had a room at the front of the hotel & it was very noisy at night as the hotel is located in a busy area - lots of bars & restaurants, street entertainment. Recycling happens at 5am.

Perfect location, right infront of the cathedral. Rooftop bar was really nice.

The property is very “tired” and in desperate need of an compleet decorative overall. We changed room as the first one and its terrace had no privacy at all as it was directly overlooked by the roofbar, pool and lounge areas. The view however was spectacular. They moved us to another suite, which had more privacy but was extremely “run down” .

Big room and bathroom, excellent location, helpful friendly staff. The breakfast selection was good.

Massage, the massage facility and access to the spa. Guests should be shown the spa on arrival and explain how it works. Being tucked away, no staff and having to pay to go in is not welcoming. If you can find it! Massage room is a bit like a Dr’s room. I would have appreciated better communication with masseuse and a better, more balanced massage. One would normally have a relaxation space, as in the spa, after a massage, be offered a drink etc.
I also had a poor steak meal at Al Lado restaurant which I was unable to eat. No tea making facility unless requested.

Amazing location. Only a short walk to the main sites of the Alcázar and Plaza España. Beautiful, modern, cool rooftop with views of the cathedral.

It is pretty noisy, everyone is heard at the rooftop until 1am. Then the bells start ringing from the cathedral at 8. No soundproofing.

Bedroom floor had large steps in middle of room so a little awkward.

Amazing location, lovely property with its quirky design. The little plunge pool and gym were a great bonus

Location and service

Rooms do not have a closet , or a single chest of drawers. When I ask about that, they told me it was the design.

The location was mesmerising, that’s is if you like a busy strip at your doorstep.

The room had no full length mirrors , just a bathroom mirror . The room had no drawers , perfect for weekend stays but not for longer .

Excellent location in the absolute Centre of Sevilla. Nice rooftop bar and good facilities in terms of pool and small gym. Very friendly staff. Nice views over the city from roof.

Limited space to sit near the pool. Chairs in the rooftop bar are not comfortable.

The location was excellent and you couldn’t get a more central position. The staff were excellent and the hotel was clean and very modern. The service was some of the best I have encountered. The interior room was ideal and the rooftop bar had great views of the area. The restaurants and attractions were so close and this hotel was perfect as a base to explore the old part. The taxi journey from the airport was quick, easy and cheap.

The first room we were offered was on the first floor and although we would expect some noise, there was very little soundproofing and I couldn’t get a restful sleep. Our window was a narrow street away from the tapas bar opposite. The staff responded to my request to move rooms and the new room was perfect. My wife is a sound sleeper and this was not an issue for her.

Excellent location, particularly in relation to the Holy Week processions. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

Some staff need reminding that they work in a 5-star hotel and hence guests have high expectations. Some tweaks are needed, eg when asking for some milk to make a cup of tea in our room it was like asking for the earth (and one wanted to charge 10€ for it!). Also, the design of the room meant that there was no sink for hand washing in the part containing the toilet.

Everything about this hotel was very good and very impressive. The design and location were just perfect. The hotel is a combination of many old houses and they have done an amazing job making it into the hotel that is now. The room was extremely spacious, the bedding and bed were also good. The location is the best thing about this hotel. You simply cannot find a better location in Seville. THey also offer cava and water and really good chocolate complimentary at the reception which i thought was very attentive.

The swimming pool was under renovation, and when asked about it, they said it was in the fine print on booking.com, I believe it is only fair to send a courtesy email informing customers of that issue. The service at the rooftop bar was very very slow. The rooms are not easily accessed. Sometimes you have to climb up a flight of stairs after using elevator, which is really inconvenient when carrying heavy luggage.

Staff were very helpful and location unbeatable. Our room (without a balcony), was very quiet.

Bathroom finishings had deteriorated in some places but only a minor point.

We received a complimentary upgrade to a room with a view of the Giralda, but the room and bathroom felt quite small for a Deluxe Room. Location of the hotel is first class next to the Giralda and Cathedral. Breakfast was very good, service a bit slow.

Instructions on how to reach the hotel by car were poor, and 50€ per night to park is expensive. This is an expensive hotel and probably isn't quite worth the price (compared to similar hotels in other Spanish cities we have stayed in).

The fact you have to pay extra for the spa is really disappointing. It was one of the main reasons we booked the hotel and paid the premium price but then found out it was a further $50 for just a few hours in the spa. We would look to stay somewhere else next time purely for this reason
