Boutique Hotel Casa de Colón, Seville

“A superb location, warm service, and quirky decorative features combine to winning effect at this charming, family-run hotel. Look out for white cast-iron pillars, bedsteads made from old doors and cobalt blue stained glass in the neo-Mudéjar windows.”
Featured as Lonely Planet’s Top Choice in Seville.
“A cleverly balanced blend of exposed brick walls with zingy colours, African prints and repurposed furniture make this family-owned 18th-century conversion, halfway between the cathedral and Plaza San Francisco, a stylish city-centre steal.”

All you need to know
Located only two minutes from the cathedral, surrounded by shopping and restaurants, Casa de Colon has an unbeatable location. With a restaurant on either side, you don’t have to travel far to satisfy your hunger! This family-run hotel’s most notable feature is the incredible rooftop terrace, boasting views of the cathedral and surrounded by lovely greenery and flowers.
Casa de Colon’s design has several unique features, including neo-Mudejar scalloped windows, cobalt-blue glass, cast-iron pillars, and ceramic tiles on the patio. These features make this space feel historical, but with several contemporary accents thrown in, like woven Indian stools and exposed brick, it still has a trendy atmosphere. Many of the headboards in the guest rooms are made from recycled wooden doors sourced from the original home, adding a quirky and historical touch.
This three-star hotel houses 17 rooms, all of which vary in size. The largest suites are the Grand Deluxes, some of which have street-facing outdoor spaces. The Grand Deluxe and the Deluxe rooms come with separate baths and showers. On the third floor, you’ll find two Attic rooms. These spaces might be smaller, but include private sundecks, outdoor showers, and sun loungers. Each room offers coffeemakers, teamakers, wall-mounted TVs, minibars, and locally made olive oil biscuits. While WiFi is free, you must log in through Facebook or your email.
Breakfast is included in the price of your room, and can be served on the patio, roof terrace, or in your room. It includes croissants, toast with Manchego cheese, jam, tomato, honey, chopped ham, eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, and your choice of coffee or tea.

Wonderfully authentic stay in the old city center
The bed in room 101 was huge and very comfortable. The windows overlooking the street were very soundproofed so we heard virtually nothing from outside. The clawfoot bathtub was lovely for a soak each night. The breakfast was also very good - delicious bread with tomato spread, cheese and iberico ham, yogurts, fruit, tea and coffee plus other breads and jams. The choice of having it in your room, on the terrace or in the lobby was great too. The hotel was beautifully authentic and perfectly imperfect as a result. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone that wants that authentic experience over a chain hotel.
Pillows could be better but they were fine.

Central
The Atrium that lit up the main entrance and beautiful Seville tiles throughout.
The breakfast had to be eaten in the atrium instead of roof terrace due to bad weather. The tables were unomfortably small . Saying that breakfast was a good assortment.

Fabulous
What a lovely welcome we had, all the staff we met were very helpful and pleasant, I would say they go above and beyond in making your stay as perfect as possible. The location is amazing and very convenient for the main attractions of Seville. This is a boutique hotel in a beautiful building, the room was attractive and had a huge bed and we had a view over the street which we liked. The shower (over the bath) was powerful and there was plenty of hot water. There is a very small mini bar fridge and a kettle, tea and coffee . I would recommend this hotel .
As mentioned this is an old building and therefore you wouldn't expect fully modern facilities, however the bathroom was quite small with a bath with shower over, sink with a wonky tap and the toilet roll holder was very rickety. You leant to work with it and this wouldn't put me off returning, but if you like a luxury bathroom it may not be for you.

We loved the hotel and the location was perfect. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Beautiful shabby chic ornate Spanish hotel. Great location. Loved the balcony.
Shower seal needed replacing. Small toiletries and no soap. From a sustainability aspect toiletries should be fixed and refillable. The current ones also have the small silver foil which need removing and can easily get washed down the drain. More hooks! A couple more in the bathroom to hang the dressing gowns on and a couple in the room for coats. Also a shelf or two in the bathroom. Nothing major- just small things that would improve the room. It was overall very comfortable, clean and a good temperature. 😊

Perfectly located example of Sevillan design and history, immersed into the city.
We were delighted with this hotel. I chose it for its central location (between the cathedral and the Setas modern installation), courtyard feel - although glass-ceilinged now - and detail everywhere. We walked everywhere other than arriving and final departure. My teenage sons weren't delighted to have to share a giant double bed but it was enormous. Breakfast is informal and arrives as quickly as it can be carried up to the terrace by one person, but is varied and includes grated tomato and jamon, and Ines do Rosales biscuits. We had a top floor room with a terrace that is cool in the mornings but sun-facing in afternoon/evening. Loved hearing all the sparrows, bells and general city hubbub. The ceramics shop on the street front, with incredible tiling, is exceptional
It's slightly scruff in places but nothing to really be bothered about given the age and charm of the property.

Lovely, local family run hotel
Liked the original Andalusian architecture and tiles, and the family run hotel ethos.
Air-conditioning was not very effective, which was ok but only because weather was cooler whilst we were staying.

Lovely hotel in a good spot
The location was really good, you were in close walking distance to all the main activities. The staff were also very lovely and helpful. There's a lift to get your luggage up to your floor. There was a rooftop terrace you could enjoy breakfast on (I opted not too do this) but I went up to have a look and it seemed nice.

An amazing stay in Seville!
Breakfast on the terrace was fabulous!
The lobby was a little loud at one point, and my room wasn't very soundproof.

A perfectly located boutique hotel to explore Seville.
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It’s an old traditional house transformed into a small boutique hotel. The rooms are tastefully furnished and have everything - kettle, bathrobes - and in the lobby you can help yourself to water and coffee. Breakfast is served on the rooftop overlooking the cathedral. Fabulous.
The only downside to this hotel is the fact that it is very difficult to find and access by car. The nearest carpark is quite a distance away.

Great location, great staff, one of the rooms could’ve been better
Excellent staff, breakfast was great, location was stellar. So close to the Cathedral.
We had two rooms. One of us had a room that faced into the atrium courtyard and was noisy at times because that was also where reception and lobby was. It had insufficient light to read. The other room was great, had a balcony overlooking the street.

Would stay again!
Staff were lovely. We were greeted by a very friendly chap who made us feel welcome. He was helpful. Obliging. Made us a lovely coffee while we checked in. That level of service continued during our stay. Location is excellent - a stones throw from the main sites. Hotel full of character. Plenty of hot water. Nice towels (but could have done with one more each as standard for hair etc) It was spotless!
All the things we "didn't like" were minor tweaks. Breakfast was in principle great with lots of choice; however we didnt eat the ham and despite asking every day not to have it we were given it regardless - feels quite wasteful. Maybe a tick form to say what you actually want. Also an additional spoon for the yoghurt - we used the ones for our tea and coffee to eat it. A handle on the inside of the bathroom door and the bathroom just needs a little TLC - sand down the polyfiller and paint. Maybe some shelving higher up - one of us was older and so it would have been better to have more shelves at standing height. Maybe a few shelves in the wardrobe. All of that said we would definately stay here again as these were minor compared to the warm feeling of the hotel and the staff

Great location
The location of this hotel is fantastic within walking distance of the most important sites. The historic building is beautiful and has been sensitively refurbished and decorated. Having the excellent breakfast on the rooftop terrace with views of the cathedral was a big plus. In the main the staff were good especially the guy on reception who was incredibly helpful. Comfy bed and powerful shower. Lovely period features in room.
Not withstanding the age of the building our room could have used some modernisation. There were insufficient electrical sockets, no full length mirror (it had apparently been broken the week before) and the shower cubicle and fittings were a bit shaky and in.our view need to.be replaced. Greater attention to little details would have made a big difference.

Highly recommend - Superb hotel in traditional building and fantastic location.
Hotel Boutique Casa de Colón was in a great location - a one minute walk to the stunning Seville Cathedral, but far enough back from the hectic road by the Cathedral to be quiet. The breakfast was served on a roof top terrace that overlooked the Cathedral which was spectacular, and breakfast was served individually to each table with no cumbersome/cluttered buffet. This hotel had an individualised, warm and welcoming family feel with very friendly staff. The room was large with very high ceilings so it was spacious and in a lovely traditional style. There was a large choice of lovely cafes, restaurants and bars within a few minutes walks in any direction - we were spoiled for choice.
I can't find any fault - it was a lovely hotel and I would happily stay again.

Great place, great staff and great location.
Great central location. Atrium area is very lovely and the decor is very much clean and of the area. Staff polite, friendly and helpful. Room Well appointed and comfortable with air con and a mini fridge being most welcome! Breakfast is a fixed menu with the option of having on the roof terrace, your room or the reception area. Very tasty and fresh.
Quite noisy at times due to the nature of the building - we had an internal room with a window that opened into the atrium space and at times it was easy to hear conversations from there, and therefore they could potentially hear ours so whilst it wouldn’t stop us going again, it was a little odd. We opted to have breakfast in the reception area as it was too warm on the roof for us.

A wonderful location, beautiful hotel with a great staff and family run.
The location of the hotel is superb, a stones throw from the cathedral and other key landmarks. Shops, cafes and bars all within a short stroll. We loved the vibe of the city, the friendly atmosphere and general safeness of the city. It was a little too hot, so we often looked for air-conditioned places but overall a great experience. The staff at casa de Colon couldn’t do more and we thank Ana and her team. Great room, excellent breakfast on the roof terrace facing the cathedral. What more could you ask for. Highly recommend
Location, staff and city.

Lovely old hotel in a perfect location.
Lovely old building situated very near the cathedral and bars and restaurants in the centre of Seville. The staff were pleasant and breakfast on the roof terrace had a great view of the cathedral.
We had to move rooms as there were several maintenance issues in the first room. The second room was much better. The whole hotel could do with maintenance in many areas and it was a bit tired. But it is a very old hotel and had some lovely features.

Short but sweet!
The location was great and the room was quite spacious. Aircon was perfect. Make sure to lock doors while inside and before leaving as the door does not lock automatically! Very pretty blue stained glass in the hallways
There was little privacy in that all the rooms had windows that did not conceal any sound at all. If someone was having a quiet conversation in the hallway it was loud enough to hear every single word. I also attempted to call reception a few times for breakfast but was hung up on. The window next to the shower also only had very thin curtains so I’m sure anyone in the hallway would have been able to see me. Not ideal!

Lovely staff. Good position in town. Best breakfast we have had anywhere!
Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. The breakfast on the terrace was amazing. Delicious and varied food. Very fresh. Lovely fruit
Very few hangers. No drawers for t shirts, flat items. Couldn’t use the safe as it was broken and not screwed down to furniture.. not fixed so felt unsafe

Hotel located near the cathedral, served breakfast at the room terrace or public terrace
The hotel is located in the city center near the cathedral, we didn't have to use public transport, we took a taxi from the Sevilla Airport and paid 25 euros. Breakfast is served, public terrace or room terrase can be chosen!!! Served breakfast at the room terrace was perfect. The room was quite small for two persons.

Great location, friendly staff, no-window room.
The location is good, very close to the cathedral. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooftop breakfast is great.
The room has no window facing out. Facilities are rather basic inside, not very “boutique” as the hotel name.

Anyone looking for a friendly, attractive, helpful stay in the middle of Old Seville will love it.
The style of the hotel, its family feel, the helpfulness of the duty manager, Marco was phenomenal and went way beyond expectations. The bathroom was fabulous, old style with a bidet and both a full size bath and a lovely strong shower. No bath extras - soap, shampoo, etc. but they arrived with a smile when I asked for them. The double bed was very comfortable and the air-conditioning was just right.
The breakfast was disastrous. Described as being served on the roof terrace it arrived cold and late. Scrambled eggs - bread that had been cut so well in advance it felt like yesterdays' and undrinkable coffee. But they were trying hard all the time to be helpful, sadly unsuccessfully, but they did try.

Do not stay in ground floor rooms pls. It isn’t good for your health to smell it all night.
Location
First night they gave us a room at the ground floor there was a very bad smell I couldn’t sleep bc of the smell of the dampness and bathroom. I complained to reception they upgraded us next day to an upper floor it was good .

Pleasant
the location and staff were excellent. you cannot ask for better.
however the facility is tired and poorly appointed with furnishings that belong in a thrift shop not a 3 star hotel. And the building is noisy. For the price we expected far better accommodations

Comfy character hotel in a great location
Great location very close to the Cathedral. Huge comfortable bed and we had a quiet room off the street. Roof terrace for breakfast. Reception staff very helpful. Good breakfast - you need to be specific about your requirements - type of tea/how you like your eggs,
Housekeeping could have been a bit better, we had to call reception as no towels were left in the room.

Lovely staff but facilities need an upgrade - we particularly didn’t like the smell of bleach in the room
The location is central, the service was friendly
Very strong bleach smell in our room, very noisy from the street outside, bathroom was cramped and bed was not that comfortable.

Authentic Seville
Very vintage and authentic, rooms were attractive, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the terrace in the evening.
It took us over 2 hours to locate the hotel and finally park our car. Seville is NOT car-friendly and once you miss a turn (very easy to do) you’re condemned to another 20-30 minute circuit around the narrow streets. The hotel instructions included google-map links but these did not deliver us to the correct spot. I’ve been a host myself and trialled my links to ensure they were effective and included street photos to reassure the traveller. I suggest this hotel does the same.

The Hotel helped to make our trip memorable
Fantastic location with a real Andalusian feel. Authentic and charming
The WiFi was unsecured and wasn’t always stable, but it didn’t cause any personal issue.

Very good
Great location & gorgeous hotel. Nice breakfast/coffee plus a nice rooftop view. Everything was clean & the staff was very helpful. My only complaint was that the Wi-Fi was weak. It often was out of range, and we were on the first floor, so if you’re trying to avoid international internet/messagings costs, you may want to consider this. Otherwise great place!

Great family run boutique hotel in the heart of the old town
Location was perfect, room was spacious with all expected amenities and very comfortable bed. Bathroom was great size with good hot shower. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Despite the central location, we were not affected by any street noise late at night. Loved staying in a family owned hotel in the heart of the old town.
Nothing, the hotel was perfect for our holiday needs. (Even the unforseen power outage due to a thunderstorm was handled expertly by the management)

Great location but I would not book it again if travelling to Seville.
