With roots dating back to the 1800s, the Palace Hotel of San Francisco is an iconic landmark located at the southwest corner of Market and New Montgomery streets. The current hotel is sometimes referred to as the “New” Palace Hotel. This distinguishes it from the original 1875 Palace Hotel built. That structure had been destroyed by the fire caused by the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. With its rich history, the Palace Hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of America.
With the original architecture still in place, the hotel pairs authentic elements with modern décor. This one-of-a-kind style is filled with light and warm colors. This Palace is truly fit for royalty but affordable to everyone. This luxurious style is extended to the accommodations for guests. Beautiful building on the inside. Everything was acceptable or better.
Dinner at the restaurant inside the hotel had live music. Good food for dinner.
Breakfast was meh, view was a brick wall, service was good, but not great.

A clean comfortable place that is centrally located to the city!
room, bright, clean, comfortable, would've preferred a better view of the city! Location was great, central to my visits! Breakfast acceptable, just had coffee and danish! There were only two employees that stuck out as exceptional Jose at the concierge desk and the second bellmen (think he said he's from Thailand)that brought bags up to our rooms! Literally everyone else including at the check in desk needs training in "customer service"!

very royal, clean and comfortable. will definitely go back. great location- Well connected by walking distance to shopping, all cuisines, Street car statin and cable car station. 20 mins from Airport. The beds are perfect. Housekeeping staff is amazing.
we really wished there was more availability for the special high tea so we could enjoy that experience also.

Breakfast was good with wide variety of choices and staff was great
That there was no coffee machine or at least kettle in the room with complimentary coffee and tea as this is the first hotel that lakes this feature and I have been traveling all over the world for many years now

Fantastic ambience great staff, only had a problem while checking in, The person who attended to me was biased n gave me a bad room, which I got it changed.
The staff was great and a comfortable stay and recommended very highly of this great gorel

We all absolutely loved and enjoyed our stay and will recommend it and most certainly visit again if in the area.

Will stay again
Very clean and all housekeeping staff always greeted us when they would see us. The staff member that delivered out room service was very nice and Eben shared some history on the hotel and Dan fransisco which I thought was so cool .
When I ordered room service the person that awnsered was very rushed and didn't really want to awnser questions . I wanted to know what came with certain things and never got a chance to ask

Beautiful, but very expensive, Hotel for GDC
I stayed at Palace Hotel during the Game Developer Conference (GDC) that occurs annually for work. it was centrally located in a fairly safe area of SF, which was important as I’d be walking around on my own. Our rooms, while a bit dated for the $700/night price point, were clean, with comfortable beds and relaxing bath. Daily breakfast buffets were greatly appreciated and the staff were a riot, letting me take 5 of those cute mini Tabasco sauce bottles back home. I’m sure outside of marquee convention dates, room prices are more affordable.
Property can appear a bit dated with very high price points during convention periods.

Beautiful historical building inside. Rooms are clean and modern. Stuff very nice and friendly. Lovely breakfast area, quality of food is good, service is excellent, but not big variety of food.
