Overall, the service was outstanding and the hotel itself is stunning. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and attentive staff. The breakfast room was spectacular, and I truly enjoyed lingering over my coffee, which made for a very relaxing start to the day. The rooftop bar is well worth a visit, as is the spa.

Minor issue: Wi‑Fi connectivity was a bit inconsistent for work purposes, particularly in my room, though I was able to connect successfully in the Exhibition Hall.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at this beautiful hotel in Norway. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming, and perfectly organized. I would like to send a massive thank you staff named Velde!!! The location was stunning — surrounded by breathtaking Norwegian scenery that made the whole experience even more special. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, with a cozy atmosphere that made it hard to leave. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we slept so well both nights. Breakfast was also a highlight — a great selection of fresh, local ingredients and something for everyone. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the outstanding service. A special thank you to Velde at reception, who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. She was friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. Her recommendations for local activities and restaurants were perfect and really enhanced our weekend. It’s rare to meet someone so dedicated and passionate about their work. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We left feeling relaxed, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable weekend in Norway!

The location to the centre was in walking distance. The hotel was exceptional in decor, hospitality, facilities and the variety of restaurants.

The hotel was beautiful and characterful, the staff were friendly and efficient, breakfast was absolutely spectacular in every way, getting around was very easy with tram and bus stops right outside the hotel. The pool and spa was stylish and quiet. The rooftop pool and sauna was fabulous - it was an extra charge, but worth it!

There were a couple of chargeable things which I felt the hotel could have signposted better. The rooftop pool and sauna is an extra charge, which only becomes apparent when you actually book a slot. It was worth the money, but I felt they should have been more open about the extra charges on the website as it set an expectation that they didn't meet. There was also a facemask in the bathroom which turned out to be chargeable - there was a label on it (who reads those?!), but I don't expect to pay for things in the bathroom - it somehow felt underhand!

Location and staff excellent. The car was valet parked with such consumate ease and no stress at all. Good breakfast options including gluten free. A fee optional extras can be booked such as a timed slot for rooftop pool and sauna.

the staff at the hotel were excellent, professional, proactive and accommodating. Really excellent. The design of the hotel is stunning, the brasserie has a brilliant vibe and the food was good. The sauna was great and the breakfast to go was really tasty. I will definitely come back.

A truly outstanding experience - a luxuray hotel built in a former administration building of the Oslo electricity company . Unique ambience decoarted with very good taste and eye in art deco style. Needless to say that the selection and quality of the food at the breakfast buffet as well as in the restaurants was exceptionel.

Parking places are very expensive and should be included in such a high-price hotel. But what bothered me more was the fact, that I could not get a proper dinner reservation for New Year's Eve although I was hotel guest with family for 5 nights and spend a little fortune on accomoadtion

Refined upmarket five-star hotel with great food and service. The downstairs bar offers live jazz music on some nights.

The room was amazing: spacious, clean, comfortable. The art deco theming was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was powerful. Access to the pool, plunge, and saunas free of charge was a great addition. The location was also really good; it's a short walk to the royal palace and the harbour. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

On one of the days the host in the spa area was a bit rude and didn't explain the facilities to newcomers at all.

Overall we enjoyed the experience. Try to get a room facing outside not inner courtyard. The expedition bar is great for all occassions; breakfast,lunch,dinner or drink.

One morning we woke up at 8.30 with a strange nose like a nuclear alarm and realized they were drilling on the wall right outside of our window!

Everything, so comfortable- hi early it was the best place over ever stayed at in Oslo and I don’t want to stay anywhere else ever again.

Room was beautiful and so comfortable. Loved the heated floors in the bathroom. Spa was lovely, but surprisingly you have to pay to use the pool.

Service at Izakaya on top floor was very dismissive so we left and went to the bistro downstairs. So glad we did! Food was phenomenal

Conveniently located close to Nationaltheater station, with several restaurants on site. Beautifully decorated, cool room keys (they let me keep mine as a souvenir!), heated floors in the bathroom. Very nice selection and quality at breakfast, though it felt somewhat more formal and wasn't easy to relax into.

I would have preferred self-serve coffee and tea at breakfast instead of having to rely on sporadic table service.

Everything. We can truly say this is one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Our room was beautiful, as was the whole hotel. We ate at several of the hotel restaurants and they were all excellent, especially Ekspedisjons-Hallen. All the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

The sommerro has to be one of the most beautiful hotels we have stayed in. Paying a little extra for a suite gives you free entry to the both spa areas which is highly recommended. All staff throughout the hotel were fantastic, we felt like long standing customers and felt very welcomed. The decor is stunning and all very modern and clean. The location is ideal as everything is within walking distance but feels a little set back and not as busy as the centre so it's lovely and quiet. The room surpassed our expectations. All the staff that we were greeted or served by were fantastic. The Italian barman that served us was brilliant, very friendly and informative also. Great stay, would highly recommend.

The decor was exceptional and unique throughout the entire hotel. I found the breakfast super vegan friendly, one of the best I’ve probably had. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere and the evening band.

I was disappointed to find that the access to the pool needs to be pre-booked and has to be paid additionally.

Janine at the restaurant was amazing from the very beginning – her service and recommendations made our stay feel special. The hotel itself is beautiful, with an outstanding gym and one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had at a hotel.

The twin-bed rooms don’t have a phone and are treated like second-class compared to the others, which was quite disappointing.

The overall stay was just perfect. The arrival and the friendliness of the staff, they were so helpful! The breakfast was so great, so many options available and amazing food. Our room was amazing! The cleaning staff were great and really friendly. They even done a turndown service most nights.

It was beautifully decorated! The location was very easy to navigate Oslo. The breakfast was also amazing!

It was HUGE! We had 2 rooms and requested the same floor. They were very far apart from one another. Also, we were there over a Saturday night and there was a wedding and you could hear the music from the wedding in the room.

Super location in Oslo, right next to bus, tram and subway. Easy with car and valet parking. NOK 795 per day. Smiling staff, everyone very attentive, efficient check-in. Great rooms in terms of style - retro, large bed (very soft), large bathroom. It is mainly double rooms. Paid extra to get to the roof terrace and pool. Decent area, a bit small, and on a hot summer day there was nowhere to sit (full). But we were able to cool off in the pool. The best thing about the whole stay was the breakfast. Fantastic atmosphere, delicious buffet, separate menu for omelettes / pancakes etc. It never happens that I am stuffed after a breakfast, but I was this morning, and was almost a little sick for having eaten too much.

Pay extra for rooftop terrace access. A bit negative is that once you have done that there is really no space other than being in the pool.

Good choice of breakfast. The room was excellent and the staff (Emma on reception and Thibaud in the level 7 bar) were particularly helpful.

The people showing you to your table at breakfast and dinner had this insatiable approach of sitting people right next to each other even when there were plenty of spaces elsewhere - this is not always what people want.
