Rooms were kind of dated.

Position. Bit of a rabbit warren but nice old worldly. Fantastic breakfast - the best by far of this times travel.

Position of bathroom in room when you have three people.

Wonderful family stay with an amazing view and great service We had a wonderful stay at Grand Hotel Oslo and were very impressed by the service and attention to detail. When we made the reservation, we booked a large family room. As it was our first time in Oslo, I wrote to the hotel in advance and kindly asked if they could offer us a room with a nice view so we could fully enjoy the city. We were traveling during the cold season, on New Year’s Eve, and the hotel exceeded our expectations. We stayed as a family — myself, my wife and our 2.5-year-old child — and the hotel offered us a beautiful, very spacious room (around 40 square meters), with a fantastic view over the main street and the park, where the Christmas market was taking place at the time. I also asked if it would be possible to have a decorated Christmas tree in the room to create a warm family atmosphere — and the hotel kindly arranged this for us. The Christmas tree was absolutely beautiful and made the stay even more special for our family. The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, everything felt cozy and well thought out. We truly felt welcomed and well taken care of. Thank you to the team at Grand Hotel Oslo for making our stay so pleasant and memorable — especially during such a special time of the year.

Title: Great hotel, but a few important details were missing We stayed at Grand Hotel Oslo and overall it is a beautiful 5-star property with an excellent location and atmosphere. However, a few important details were missing, which slightly affected our experience. When we arrived from another country, we realized that there were no toothbrushes or toothpaste in the bathroom. As we arrived late and had been traveling all day, we had forgotten to bring our own, and on the first evening we had nothing to brush our teeth with. For a 5-star hotel, this is something we would normally expect to be available. In addition, after consuming several items from the minibar, it was not restocked during our stay. Another very important point is the air in the room during winter — it was extremely dry. In the mornings, we woke up with dry and irritated noses, even small wounds, due to the lack of humidity. In our opinion, a humidifier or some form of air humidification would be a very valuable addition, especially during the winter season. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but these small details made a noticeable difference and could easily be improved to truly match a 5-star standard.

Lots of things broken in the room, lack of shampoo or conditioner, television was broken, one of the rooms we booked the fridge was not working, our girls bathroom water would not get warm. There were many small broken or non working items. Nothing major, but a tad inconvenient. We also got some unique looks when asking for local shopping with a response that it may be “too expensive.”

The breakfast was absolutely amazing, the room was tasteful and well-maintained, the location – unparalleled. Beautiful Christmas decorations and super-friendly service at the lobby bar.

The concierge service was worthy of a three-star hotel. Failed to book my return transfers in advance. Instead of making restaurant bookings, sent me links to "book myself" – some links led to restaurants that had no openings on my dates, some only had a Norwegian version I couldn't understand.

Breakfast was amazing and complete in every sense. The service was excellent, the atmosphere wonderful. And to top it all off, Jaume's dedication deserves top marks for his attentiveness. Thanks to him, our experience in Oslo was absolutely perfect.

We were expecting slightly more comfortable rooms, more in line with the overall standard of the hotel. However, our overall impression is by no means negative, and we hope to return.

The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the city center and close to many tourist attractions. The breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of options

Great location for seeing central Oslo. Super comfortable bed. We arrived on a Friday evening at the end of November and the hotel was very busy indeed. Breakfast at the weekend was therefore very hectic and a bit intense. The Christmas market was right outside the hotel and although noisy when we arrived, it shut at 8 pm so we weren't bothered at all by noise when we went to bed.

The towels had seen better days and needed replacing as did the bathrobes - they were very tatty indeed. Would have liked to have had fresh milk in the bar fridge - there were only milk sachets and I had to pay for fresh milk. We ordered a taxi through the concierge for the return to the airport and it stank of cigarette smoke which was really unpleasant

The location was perfect, everything walking distance. 5 mins walk from the National theatre station also, quick connection to the airport. The staff were amazing. Always smiled and went out of their way to be helpful.

Not as well maintained as last time. Bleach marks on the carpets, slightly damaged walls. Not bad or anything - perfectly fine to stay in but not Grand. Spotlessly clean. Great location

I would like staff to intervene when people watch tv out loud on their phines in the bar. Its difficult as a female traveller with kids to do this so it would be better if the staff did it.

Very convenient for a short visit. Clean. elegant and helpful staff in an historic building.

I hadn't included breakfast when reserving. When I checked in the front desk asked if I wanted breakfast included. I said OK for one day, but they charged us for breakfast for two days. I didn't notice that until I returned home, but as soon as they became aware, quickly provided a refund.

Position, services, breakfast

Location was fantastic - very close to Royal Palace. Room was a good size and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good but I have had better at similar hotels.

No milk for hot drinks in the room. No real view from room. No individual toiletries that I’d expect from a high end hotel.

The location was the best thing, and we did enjoy the bar downstairs.

The bed wasn't quite as comfy as we would have hoped, and the shower was a bit low in volume of water.

The hotel is centrally located, has beautiful architecture and interiors. The room was ready when I got there and it was a fast check-in. The room was big enough, and nicely decorated, the bed comfortable. It's possible to leave the luggage for the day, it's well managed and secure. The Grans Cafè is where they serve breakfast. There's a swimming pool and sauna.

At the check-in I didn't receive any map or tips for visiting the city. I had to ask about the facilities, learned that the pool/sauna was paid per entrance. Every morning there was a long line to be seated for breakfast. The selection is poor for the type of hotel, and the coffee not great. Parts of the cafè are quite dark, and not being able to chose where to sit can be annoying. I used the pool (250nok) and asked about any other spa service, the reply was that they don't do anything. Which makes me confused of why they would call it a spa. The sauna it's small. Overall the space is way too small for such big hotel. The room had few stains on the carpet, no extra toiletries in the bathroom (would have appreciated given the price), and the internet connection not stable. My room had a connecting door to another room, which didn't make me feel very safe as a solo traveller. I was not informed about it. The elevator gets busy quickly as there are many guests. I wanted to go to the roof top bar one evening but the door was closed. Had to go back to grab my jacket to go outside and enter from the building next door. Overall I expected a superior service given the name and the price.

Although everything was good (as expected due to the price and rating) - must say that the room and corridors felt very outdated and should be renovated

Noisy from Wedding band and the next day a protest opposite Restaurant closed Sunday night , extraordinary for a top quality hotel .

Location and grandeur were exceptional.

Rooftop bar would only serve 20+ after 7pm. Such a shame when it was a group travelling to celebrate a big birthday with 19 year old daughters.

The hotel is in a great location -- right across from a lovely park and only about a 10 minute walk to the waterfront. It's a beautiful, historic building. Breakfast in the adjacent Grand Cafe was excellent.

Very noisy Saturday night! The university students were partying loudly on the street below our room till 2 AM. It was the weekend they started up the semester, so I'm not sure if this happens regularly, but it was an unpleasant surprise.

Staff is not trained at the level of the hotel We were late 10 minutes at the breakfast deadline and asked to be seated for a few minutes to have a coffee and some basic marmalade. There were still people seated and food over the counter. Long discussion, several managers of different levels intervened, time wasted for everybody bud nobody could handled it correctly. Also, at the bar in the eve and at the reception desk, the service was not of a decent standard

Very small bathroom with little space for toiletries. AC unit ran constantly making noise.

Breakfast was absolutely amazing and extremely fresh, for example freshly squeezed orange juice which is rare. The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable.There is also lots of fascinating history embedded within the hotel!

Button/Bell at the reception desk would have been nice as the concierge team was not always around, especially late at night - which is understandable but, it did mean we had to wait and hope that they knew we were waiting. Staff were quick to attend regardless of the absence of a button/bell
