My daughter and I are great admirers of Kit Kemps incredible designs so it was lovely to enjoy this luxurious hotel and admire her work. The restaurant was very buzzy and popular with a sophisticated crowd and the food was lovely.

My only criticism is the price as we stayed in 2 other luxury 5 star hotels which for us were in a better location.

The decor of the hotel is spectacular. Our room was beautiful and comfortable with the best shower ever. We had lunch and breakfast in the dining room and it was served beautifully and was delicious.

My family and I stayed at The Whitby as part of a birthday celebration in NYC. Although it was only an overnight stay, we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the hotel. The hotel itself is just beautiful, its like walking through an art gallery, every wall is covered with art & gorgeous wall paper, the Whitby is a feast for the eyes. Also, loved the shower, the duvet/the comfort of the bed, the quietness of the rooms and the English Breakfast. All the staff were kind and quick to help. We will definitely stay at The Whitby again!

One of the best mixes of design, perfect cleanliness, comfort, staff, room to move that I have encountered at a 5-star. Just superb. restaurant and bar were very pleasant and not overcrowded or noisy.

I think the food could be a bit better. Fairly routine execution of dishes.

Needed to be mid-town, so chose the Whitby over the Crosby. Appreciated how quickly restaurant hostess and staff were to recognize my husband and me. Excellent front desk staff. Appropriately COVID aware. Liked non-fogging mirrors in bathroom.

Please add capsule coffee maker and tea zone to honor lounge. Kettle in room please.

The toilet in our room had to be flushed several times

It was so beautifully decorated and felt like you were the most important guest staying.

It was close to everything and so enjoyable. Time square, Broadway, Central Park and 5th Ave were very close. Just so fun!

This is a beautifully designed hotel according to the standards of the chain (stayed at the SOHO UK too). We had a street noise issue in our room which was dealt with swiftly with an upgrade to a higher floor. The beds and bathroom are great and the view from the new room was amazing. The location near central park is great.

The hotel is in a poor looking street. It is such a contrast. It has limited facilities (just a bar/restaurant). We found the breakfast expensive and not exceptional. Our nice terrace (upgrade), was basically unusable because of airconditioning noise from the buildings in the street and cooking fumes from the restaurants. Take all this with perspective. This is a beautifully decorated room, amazing view, great shower and soaking bath. I would say fair value for money, but not exceptional value.

Loved everything about this hotel, except the location.

It's on 56 th between Fifth Ave. and Sixth, and so is on a very busy, crowded street with construction going on across from the hotel. Noise wasn't a problem. But the view is pretty sucky.

The staff and rooms are the reason I made a second reservation. The rooms are always very clean and polished. The food is great. But the staff is always so helpful and sweet.

The Whitby has tons of style and charm. The original art and artisan fabrics that Kit Kemp uses in the design really lend to the feeling of layered warmth. They do a great job with the scents also.

I think the bathroom set up is a tricky for getting ready/ makeup/contacts /medicine etc. I get and appreciate the look but it’s not practical. I was there on business and no counter space is tough. I lost a pill down the pedestal sink . That said, I would stay and have stayed here and at the Crosby again. They are exactly the same and lovely properties. Staff is delightful. Be prepared for expensive cafe but again- just lovely.
