Magma Home B&B, Naples

Via San Giuseppe Dei Nudi 18, 80135 Naples, Italy. (show on map)

Magma Home B&B, located in the heart of Naples, is a unique, family-friendly guest house set within a traditional building that dates back to the 1800s. Its name reflects the fiery, energetic spirit of the city, perfectly complemented by its prime position in the historic centre.

The property is perhaps most famous for its rooftop terrace, which provides stunning, panoramic views of the city skyline and the sparkling coastline. Inside, the rooms blend historic architecture with modern comforts, such as memory foam beds and curated, stylish decor, making it a peaceful sanctuary after a day of exploring the bustling streets.

You are incredibly well-placed here for sightseeing. The world-renowned Naples National Archaeological Museum is just a few minutes’ walk away. Additionally, the hotel serves as an excellent starting point for visiting the famous Sansevero Chapel, home to the breathtaking “Veiled Christ” sculpture, and the vibrant, narrow lanes of Spaccanapoli.

For those who love to wander, the location is unbeatable for immersion in local culture. You can easily stroll to the artisan workshops of Via San Gregorio Armeno, famous for its traditional nativity scenes, or catch the nearby metro to quickly reach other parts of the city.

With its combination of historic charm, thoughtful modern amenities like a communal kitchen, and a sun-drenched solarium, Magma Home offers a deeply authentic Neapolitan experience that feels both personal and welcoming.

Stay in an Artful Supremely Hosted B&B!

This is an art lovers paradise, centrally located by the Archeological Museum and hosted by the sensational Roberto - who greeted us enthusiastically and shared the soul of Naples with us! Excellent breakfast - amazing rooftop (lucky enough to see Roberto play with his Orchestra Topica) GREAT AC and gorgeous artistically decorated common spaces !

Nothing adverse to report

So beautifully furnished in a classic old spacious building. V well located.

Nothing really. It was fantastic. The location is 3 floors up so maybe be aware of that if any accessibility needs.

The location! Was a perfect spot for us to walk around the city. Felt like we were really a part of the city and saw a cool part of it.

Pillows could be updated. But the room was clean and comfortable!

We stayed for 3 nights and toured Pompeii and Napoli-was a very good base.

The renovated style was charming. Plenty of room for privacy and socialising. The rooftop was a bonus with great view of Vesuvius. Breakfast was great with home cooked food (including cakes) and very personalised service. Hosts were well informed and very generous. Would definitely do it again!

Stairs for older folks or physically disabled would be a problem

Best citybreak hotel ever.

The staff were amazing - they arranged a private transfer from the airport to the hotel and back again. They were so welcoming and kind - We felt like family. They met us at the property, and told us all about where to go in Naples.

If there was a private kitchen - we would have stayed there at the end of the trip too. That said, the communal kitchen was excellent and not used much - so if we ever returned to Naples, would be very tempting to stay here again.

Solid. A more authentic experience for those looking to get outside of the tourist areas.

The staff was great! The rooms were modern, minimalistic and clean. The location has a nice rooftop to enjoy a night cap.

The location is a bit removed from where a lot of the main areas are. It also does not have an elevator so anyone with heavy luggage or in need of assistance, this will be a challenge. The overall cost per room was also somewhat high considering there are boutique hotels with very similar ammenities/decor in the sought after area of Chaia

Charming space with charming staff!

The staff were charming, friendly and helpful. They deserve 5 stars alone for carrying our heavy suitcase up all those stairs. They provided us with plenty of recommendations, both before and during our stay. The list of restaurants and pizzerias provided meant we always ate while we were in Naples. Our room and the common spaces were clean, spacious and beautifully decorated, inspired by artists from the city. The shower was heavenly (waterfall shower with good water pressure) after hot days exploring Naples. The breakfast was delicious (we loved the homemade dark chocolate and almond cake). The views of Vesuvius from the rooftop terraces were worth the stairs. Great location, close to metro stations and the archaeological museum.

There was nothing we disliked! The stairs were tiring to walk up everyday, but it was worth it for the views of Vesuvius.

An excelllent and memorable stay. I will definitely come back

The rooms and the space are excellent- like being a guest in someone's amazing home. The owners have impeccable taste and go out of their way to be helpful and accessible. And the breakfast is great.

My unit could have had more food supplies available. Milk for coffee, some fruit and some more snacks would have been really nice. And the door to my room wouldnt stay closed unless I locked myself in

Being at Magma makes you feel like you're part of Napoli life!

Loved the design and decor. Large, airy room. Great location near to the old quarter. Loved having coffee on the roof terrace of a morning. Staff we super friendly, helpful and accommodating. They can't do enough for you.

Breakfast was tasty, maybe could be a bit more varied. Struggling to think of negatives!

We really enjoyed Magma and would return to visit again from it's wonderful location and facililties

Out room was very spacious and comfortable. The terrace and beautiful art in our room and common areas. The staff and breakfasts were wonderful. The overall feel of Magma was excellent.

These are small points in comparison to the overall stay which was excellent. There was no coffee machine in common area outside our room. It looked like there was one once as coffee was there but no machine to use it in. In our room, the bathroom shelf was coming away from the wall which was a little worrying as we did not want it to break and cause a flood. The bathroom door needed some attention as it did not close easily as I do not think it was hung quite correctly.

Welcoming Stay in Naples

One of my favorite hotels in Naples! Located just outside the city center, but close to metro and sites by walking. A very beautiful building, with uniquely decorated communal spaces and rooms. My floor had a shared kitchen and sitting space. There is also the upstairs shared spaces along with an incredible rooftop terrace with jaw-dropping views and comfortable seating.
The staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and easy to communicate with via WhatsApp. Breakfast had good variety with homemade cakes and other options, especially the to-order eggs and cappuccino, with the real treat being able to eat on the terrace. It always felt comfortable and inviting to lounge in the communal spaces and chat with guests or staff.

I knew about the stairs in advance but definitely do not underestimate the many flights of stairs. It's worth the views but be warned. And although the property is close to many sites, it is slightly uphill and adds up when tired.
My room was a little noisy from the street but I am sensitive to sound so it might not be a problem for others. Other room locations likely vary.

Stylish accommodation , fantastic breakfast!

Excellent location just a short walk from the fabulous archaeological museum.
The property is in a beautiful old building and the owners have renovated with great style and taste , incorporating the work of local artists. We really appreciated the communal kitchen area to make tea and fridge to store drinks. Our hosts were super responsive both before and during the stay, giving helpful tips for places to eat and visit. Breakfast was an absolute feast including homemade jams and fresh baked cakes as well as eggs if you want them. The roof terrace is a great location for breakfast or for taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Would certainly stay at Magma House again- highly recommended!

Nothing! We didnt mind the stairs- just a few flights….

Gorgeous rooms, special staff, warm and welcoming

Great location, easy walking distance to sights and to the metro, also to the lovely bars and restaurants around Bellini Square. The hotel is like a series of apartments off a kitchen and living space and all gave access to the gorgeous roof garden. Roberto is a fantastic member of staff - total superstar! really helpful in advance of arriving and warm, friendly and informative on arrival. He was a lovely welcoming face at breakfast each morning. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfy with aircon etc.

There is nothing we didn’t like but it is worth mentioning, as others have, that magma is on the 3rd floor so it’s a good 10 short flights with your cases on arrival. I’m the heat it’s hard going.

Perfect stay in Napoli!

We absolutely loved staying at Magma. Roberto was so kind and welcoming, he gave us an excellent guide and advice about the city which took all the stress away from planning our days. The apartment itself is in a beautiful old Neapolitan building which made the trip so special. The view from the rooftop terrace is unbeatable, panoramic with clear views of Vesuvius. The photos don't do it justice. Such a special trip!

Everything was perfect

Couldn’t have found a better place!

Incredible location, just a short walk down the hill into Naples and right next to the museum. They offered us breakfast every morning and they make special considerations for gluten free. The best part was the roof! You had views of the city and Vesuvius from there

Wonderful hotel, what a find! Naples is a fascinating city, but don't go in high summer.

This place is so charming and original, we couldn't believe our luck finding it! The different apartments are themed - for example, our floor featured street artists. There are interesting objects and design elements everywhere you look. The roof terrace is beautiful and the individual rooms are spacious with good bathrooms and comfortable beds. Fabulous breakfasts with a wide choice of delicious things. The staff are all lovely as well. We appreciated the advance communication about arrival, transfers, and recommendations as it made our visit very easy. Everyone was very helpful and friendly during our stay. If we return to Napoli we would definitely stay here again.

I can't fault Magma at all. The only thing that was difficult about our trip was the heat - Naples in August is very hot and this August was particularly hot - thankfully our room had good air conditioning. I'd say, don't visit Naples at this time of year if you can go in October instead!

Both quirky and traditional.

Spacious, clean and tidy, helpful and friendly staff and management.

Most of Napoli's attractions are to the east. Fortunately the taxis to the city centre are not too expensive.
