Primo Piano Posillipo, Naples
Primo Piano Posillipo is a chic, intimate bed and breakfast nestled in one of Naples’ most elegant and prestigious districts. Perched on a hillside overlooking the Gulf of Naples, this boutique retreat offers a serene escape from the lively, often chaotic energy of the city center. Its name, “Primo Piano,” translates to “First Floor,” reflecting its elevated perspective and the tranquil, airy atmosphere that guests enjoy.
The property is celebrated for its bright, tastefully decorated rooms, many of which feature private balconies. These outdoor spaces are perfect for soaking in the breathtaking vistas of the shimmering Mediterranean and the distant, iconic silhouette of Mount Vesuvius. The design is modern and fresh, creating a peaceful sanctuary that feels far removed from the urban rush despite being well-connected.
Staying here places you in the heart of the “slow life” of Posillipo. The area itself has roots dating back to Ancient Greek times; the name “Pausilypon” literally means “a respite from worry.” You are within easy reach of local gems like the lush Virgiliano Park, which offers panoramic views of the entire gulf, and the charming village of Marechiaro, known for its pristine waters and “calm sea.”
For those keen on history, the district is home to hidden treasures such as the Roman-era Tunnel of Sejanus and the sunken ruins of the Gaiola Underwater Park. While the historic heart of Naples is just a short bus or taxi ride away, many visitors find that the true magic of this location lies in the quiet, sophisticated beauty of the Neapolitan coastline.
Expert reviews
“Located in Naples’ pretty, seaside Posillipo neighborhood, Primo Piano Posillipo — conceived by the architect Giuliano Andrea dell’Uva, and opened in February — is a colorful vision of contemporary style, showcased in its four airy rooms, including one with a stunning Mediterranean view.”

Stunning place and view! We will come back!
The view, the floors and how it’s furnished! The place is just lovely and Francesca was very welcoming and also responsive on WhatsApp!
The location is great in Posillipo, a beautiful quarter with views over Napoli and Vesuvio.
The breakfast is a collaboration with a small cafe a 4 minute walk away! Tasty with several alternatives.
To reach the old quarters my recommendation is to use the Lime bikes. So convenient and charming to bike around town!
When we come back to Napoli we will stay here again!
Nothing. Some complain about the rooms leaking sound and maybe that’s true but it didn’t concern us at all!

Absolutely never again.
Bed was ok. P
Never saw “staff.” Except at check in done by 2 non-English speaking cleaning ladies who were very nice. Room is small, fits double bed with little room on either side. Need to duck under mounted tv to get in one side. No chair- bed and small metal table only. Difficult to get to without paying big price for taxis. No water provided. You pass a kitchen on way to room but it has nothing for guests. Loud noise from 11 pm to 2 am - sounds and smells like garbage trucks off loading and room filled with garbage/sewage smells. Window overlooks resident parking lot. Nothing conveniently located.

Bad experience in a great hotel
Great concept, great design and location.
Don’t put parking on the listing when there is none that the hotel can in anyway guarantee.
Had to park over a mile away. And had lots of luggage. Would not have stayed if listing was more accurate.

great location everything else very poor, totally over hyped
Great location and design aesthetic
the owner cancelled our booking for our last night with no notice, Whilst an alternative was offered it was not suitable and sub standard. Breakfast is not at the property it is a 6 minute walk to a bar for a coffee and a pastry, use of the kitchen facilities is not allowed. Coffee machine was broken, no milk. Toiletries, v poor. Our room had a view of the car park. This place is totally over hyped with owners who do not care about their customers.

The best B&b in Naples
This place is amazing! It’s was very clean, quiet, and I’m so happy that there was a good coffee machine! I highly recommend, and the posillipo area is wonderful, such a beautiful view from the hotel. Thank you so much, next time I will be in Naples I’ll choose you for sure !

Would be ideal for both business or personal travel.
The location, customer service and beautiful building
There is nothing to dislike, it’s lovely.

It’s ok for an overnight or two but I wouldn’t want to stay there for several days.
The design of the hotel was nice, as was the building it was located in.
The room was clean, but it smelled like an old wet towel. The bathroom was also clean on the surface but there’s a lot of calcium buildup on the faucets, distributing the water very unevenly.
The communication wasn’t great either, there was no receptionist present during the entirety of the stay. They left it all to the cleaning lady, who was nice but who didn’t speak a word of English.

It was lovely, I met one of the owners he was lovely and had some great tips. Shame about the kitchen.
I loved the design of the property, the room itself was a decent size with some beautiful design features. The communal space was also stunning with a gorgeous sea view
The ‘yellow’ room is very bright (owning to a lovely big window) but the curtains could be improved to black the room out further. The bed is positioned right underneath the air con unit, I’d reorient the bed to avoid this. There is a kitchen but it is out of bounds, despite being accessoried for cooking. I made my daughter some lunch but was told it was a b&b only. this was a big shame especially because a kitchen is useful when travelling with a young child.
