Wombat’s City Hostel, Munich

The location is perfect, the staff also, very helpful, specially Andrey.

You have to take down your bed sheets to reception, not much privacy in the rooms, curtains in bunk beds would be great

This was my third stay at Wombats, as I used Munich as a base for exploring Bavaria. The location of this hostel is so perfect. Every time I arrived by train or FlixBus, it was only ever a short walk to my hostel. On the morning with thick snow, I was very glad of that fact!! Also, while I had poor shower pressure the first two times, my shower in my third dorm was blissful! (Third time lucky?!) The staff are so helpful and the communal areas are great. Thick snow outside and you can hang in the glass roofed indoor garden/ sofa room? So clever! The communal kitchen is so well stocked. And I enjoyed the kind of travellers who stay here. They were friendly and nice.

The pillow was unnecessarily big. They should tell at the reception that towels and soap are not included so I don't need to go up and down

The value for money was very good, the rooms had lockers, the staff was here for you even at 3 a.m. The breakfast was very good for only 6€.

Easy check in and check out, you receive your own bedsheets and put them in the laundry before you go, great location, spacious dormrooms

Room smelled bad because the bathroom’s door wouldn’t close, windows cannot be opened because of the noise coming from the karaoke downstairs

The common room was amazing and great when I needed some relax time with computer or book.

My third stay in this hostel over the January period as I came and went from various locations in Bavaria. This time the water pressure in my room was amazing! This hostel has such a welcoming and social vibe. The kitchen is SO well equipped and the winter garden communal area is wonderful. it was -8 degrees celcius outside and yet we could be in the glass-roofed area feeling warm and comfortable.

Wonderful warm, informative welcome from the reception staff when I arrived. I love that there is a female only dorm option if you don't fancy a mixed dorm. The washing machines and driers right there in the hostel were amazing. Front reception staff changed my money for coins and sold me washing powder for a Euro and all my washing was in the machines the first evening I arrived, while I chilled with new roomies. Beds were comfortable and the room was warm. There was an ensuite bathroom in our dorm room too, a pleasant surprise. Also a table and benches in the centre of the room! Genius! So handy when repacking your bag or sorting through your stuff. The location beside the Haptbahnhof is perfect. Plus only a short walk to the old town and plenty of food and shopping options nearby. Early sandwiches, drinks and pastries can be bought at the Haptbahnhof if you are heading off for an early train/ bus/ excursion, which was super convenient. There is also a really large, well equipped kitchen and I enjoyed an evening of live music in the bar.

The hearing in the room was a bit too high in the night. We woke and opened a window, even though it was snowing outside, because we were just too warm! The pressure for the showers in the dorm rooms is really weak.

Location is wonderful. The staffs are very friendly. The kitchen is huge and always clean! We have plenty of space in our bedroom.

WiFi is not working. The elevator is too small

Late at night, the indoor courtyard and closed. This access is needed to access the kitchen for your late night snacks and anything you stored in the fridge. Not ideal. Wifi in the rooms (particularly top floor, private rooms) was poor

they have a common space with equipped kitchen and tables to have a meal, or work if you have any urgent issue.

Ther are small lambs above your batt with an charger.

I did not like that ther where she's for the bett on the bed. So that you have to do it your self but that's really the only bad thing and I can understand why that is

The breakfast, the location and the cleanliness

The staff did not inform me that I was in a room with only guys. I know it is mix but I, at least, would like to know if I am the only woman in the room.

Distance to Munich train station

Quite noisy at night, noise came from outside and one day from the dorm

The location is perfect. Very near to the train station.

The floor in the room is dirty and no one cleans apparently. Remember to bring your own slippers. I didnt get enough sleep everyday and theres no curtain and shampoo provided.

Comfy beds, nice staff and clean facilities. The covered outdoor space was great for reading.
