Wombat’s City Hostel, Munich

Great location near train station and a short walk away from the city centre. Shared kitchen was nice to be able to make my own meals or a drink. Common space was a lovely sheltered courtyard that felt welcoming to relax in for a meal or socialise.

Bunks were comfy and I appreciated the fan that was installed since it was a lifesaver during the warmer nights. Curtains also allowed for privacy and helped block lights if other people were moving about in the room.

No hand towels in the bathroom and floor would often get wet and slippery around the shower.
Rooms could get stuffy, especially on first floor where the windows open out onto the courtyard (which is covered so no fresh air coming in). A lot of noise would travel from the courtyard into the first floor rooms also if the windows were open.

A practical hostel with a good location near the railway station. The luggage lockers are a great feature, allowing guests to store their belongings and continue sightseeing before departure.

The staff were friendly and quick to respond to questions, especially regarding local transport options.

The breakfast information could be clearer. We booked breakfast at reception, but were only informed later that egg dishes were charged seperately. More transparent communication about what is included would improve the experience.

The hostel is conveniently located close to the train station. It offers lockers for luggage storage, which is very useful if you want to explore the city before check-in or after check-out.
The staff were responsive and helpful, and they provided useful advice about public transport.

Be careful when ordering breakfast. We arranged breakfast at reception, but only during breakfast did we discover that eggs were not included and required an additional payment. It would be helpful if this was explained more clearly in advance.

I didn't know you had to make your own bed. It was the first time I'd ever seen that. When I got back late at night from a walk, completely exhausted, I realized I still had to do it. Damn it))

Wombats is a great choice- and the staff is always a highlight for me. They are kind without question!

About the facilities:
You access all area with a key card so it feels safe.
There is a bright common area (with trees! indoors!) where they had a lovely yoga class on Fridays and small kitchen where you can store and make food. You can also buy coffee at their café.

About the dorm:
Beds are well-equipped with a curtain, fan, locker, light, and outlets. They fit a lot into a small space. The shower had good water pressure, and there were more toilets in the hall if needed.

Hostels always depend on the people in your room, which is a wild card! It would be nice to have dorm toilet cleaned daily.

This was a notch above other hostels i have stayed in - I particularly liked the 'safe' attached to each bed frame, the keycard entry (which also worked on the locker), the presence of table/benches in each dorm room and the very good breakfast for less than €10. Location was also excellent for train station, sub-way and city sights. Other than to refill my water bottle, i did not use the communal kitchen, but that looked to be well provisioned as well.

Breakfast add-ons were just a little too expensive

Loved the location being right next to the train station and close proximity to the Old Town. Facility had everything I needed, rooms were spacious and comfortable, loved the bed setup with a fan and safe and the staff were always very friendly and approachable whenever I needed help

The hostel is nice, the overall atmosphere is pleasant. The reception is open 24/7. The location is good, just a few steps from the station and about a 10- to 15-minute walk to the city center.

The double room was quite small, around 10 square meters. The main issue was the heat: the sun coming through the windows made the room warm, and there’s no air conditioning. We stayed in May and it got uncomfortably warm during the day.

This is a nice hostel in the heart of the city. The staff are friendly and the rooms are as described with privacy curtains, lockers, and plug in areas. There is a comfortable common area and a small kitchen. Overall it is a above average hostel in a great location.

Victoria was a very helpful member of staff and so friendly. The room was spacious, and bed was comfy. The location is excellent. The shower water was warm and welcomed.

There was an odour near the bathrooms near the bar that lingered and made the common room smell bad. It was hard to ignore. Also, the drinks at hostel were more expensive than other hostels.

I liked how much hangout room there was. A lobby, an atrium and large bar area with a pool table. The cafe portion was cute and had a good selection. The beds were nice but the bathroom shower needs a shelf to put stuff on or everything just goes on the floor for showering.

Things were a bit pricey and would have been a lot more helpful if it was a more cash friendly establishment.

I was only here for one night, traveling by myself on a budget, and for a night it was fine. :) The location is very central, close to grocery stores, restaurants, cafes etc. The hostel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the beds had curtains at least in the 6-bed female dorm. There's a big common area to hang out in and it's good for working as well + a well-equipped kitchen. There are lockers in the reception where you can store your stuff after checking out if you need to for a cheap price.

You need to put your bedsheets on & take them out by yourself which I find a little bit annoying. :) The top bunk was a bit difficult to climb since the ladder is so narrow, and this made putting on the sheets a bit hard. There's only one bathroom for 6 people which can make getting ready in the morning or at night quite slow. I couldn't find any more showers, just toilets on some floors. I didn't find the hostel very social, but this is just my first impression after one night.

location is very good very near to the main train station, room is big, huge enough space if you want to open your suitcase or luggage at the same time with other people it wont squeeze you have plenty of space in the room. They have a very nice patio open space where you can sit and wait for your time after you check out. They have also good common pantry where you can access to make your own food. When i arrive it was past 12 midnight and i feel sorry to my room mate its very quite everyone sleeping but cannot help i need to open my luggage open the light also.

Nice place close to a main station so it is easy to take transit.

The only thing is our bed was not too comfortable and the room is small but it has a nice balcony.
