Everything was nice

Too expensive for the quality of the rooms

Wonderful stay at this absolutely iconic hotel in Munich. Fabulous concierge and front desk staff, helping us with even the most difficult-to-get dinner reservations! Excellent rooms and wonderful views from the rooftop bar and the breakfast restaurant.

Perhaps the Trader Vics downstairs is a bit in need of an update, and the staff are a bit rude. But I realise this is a separate business and not the fault of Bayerischer Hof!

Location and facilities were great! Walking distance from restaurants, shopping etc. Room is huge.

The room we got was too dated.

The location was excellent - the center of the old city, conveniently accessible by taxi, 5 minutes to the metro. A cozy cafe was nearby with delicious and varied breakfasts, and we had breakfast there. The staff is polite, the service is fast - we asked to change the pillows (because the default ones were skinny and looked more like a pancake than a pillow), and they quickly brought orthopedic pillows.

We booked a "superior room". - less than 24 hours before check-in, the hotel sent a notice that neither the pool nor the spa would be open. Therefore, the hotel did not leave the option to cancel the reservation; - we asked for a room closer to the lobby, but they gave us the farthest one, with access to the construction site; - The hotel's wi-fi is a kind of attraction. By default, you can connect only three devices at all. Even if you disconnect one of the previously connected ones, you cannot connect a new device - you need to call reception to have them bring you a piece of paper with additional access. The Internet login interface also does not work correctly (you can open it from the mobile Internet, but not from the desktop); - it is impossible to regulate the air conditioner's temperature; it doesn`t matter which temperature you set up at the thermostat (+18 or +24) - the air is chilly. We asked reception to do something, and they promised to call a specialist, but in fact, nothing has changed; - for some reason, the warm floor in the bathroom was switched ON, although the thermostat was turned off; thus we couldn`t switch it OFF; - musty smell in the room and bathroom. No one lived in this room for at least half of the year. In general, I got the feeling that the hotel provides the oldest and most uncomfortable rooms for booking from booking.com :(

I used to stay at the hotel as a child with my parents. I was quite disappointed that the quality had declined from what I remembered. Unfortunately, I checked into a dirty room, and even after pointing it out, the assigned cleaning staff only laid down a few towels and gave me chocolate without addressing them. After I came back from my dinner, I notified them again and a manager for the night, a lovely lady, saw the issues as soon as she walked in anf took care of it. She was very apologetic and cleaned everything within 10 minutes. She was highly professional and quite surprised that they were missed. I was offered a new room but declined. Other than that, the general staff, concierge and reception were lovely.

Some of the rooms need a deep clean due to the old smell. Mine smelt a bit damp and as I am not a regular guest I assume I’m not given the “newer” rooms. I’ve had friends that had the same experience. Some furniture upgrades wouldn’t hurt either. The tables were scratched and old and the glass tops only made the scratches more visible.

There was a live mouse roaming among the guests the mezzanine bar repeatedly and the hotel didn’t seem to care enogh to deal with it

Room, breakfast and Spa were all excellent.

We felt there was not enough personal touch. For example its not hard to ask a guest how they are coming, and if they arrive by car to find out their number plate before hand, let the door and porter staff know and have them all greet me by name when we arrive. Also our rooms were not ready until 2:30, but we were at the front desk at 11am to ask about them - if I know people are waiting and are on site, I prioritise those rooms to be ready first and then go back to the normal routine. Neither of these two things is a large amount of work or effort to do, but they would make a huge difference to each guest and a great hotel does these things. The staff are not at fault for lacking these skills, it needs to be drilled and instilled by management.

Great staff, big rooms, great location

Shower inside the bathtub, which was an issue for one of us who had a bad knee. No lobby where guests could sit and wait or meet visitors. Breakfast was excellent but overpriced.

Location: very close to St Mary Platz and shopping area, walking distance to Residenz Museum and Englischen Garden.

Housekeeping & Cleaning services: dusty shelf and our tooth brushes have cleaning detergent smell after room make-up …

Comfortable, clean and ready ahead of time. Good room facilities. Helpful staff. Excellent location.

I really cannot see how a price of 47 EUR per head is justified for breakfast.

I stayed there on three previous occasions and enjoyed every minute of it. This time though, after the re-decoration and re-pricibg, I felt disappointed.

The room was spacious with windows that open. All of the staff from front desk to housekeeping were efficient and very pleasant. They were very responsive to our questions and needs. The rooftop pool was wonderful!

It was convoluted to get to the pool. The rooftop dining area was balmy even though it was open air. Perhaps in the Spring or Fall, it would be really nice.

Breakfast was excellent. Very big choice Staff very good. Very efficient organised staff even though the hotel is very large. Concierge very efficient. Enough choices of Restaurant spa etc . Location wonderful . Near to everywhere in the old town

Moved to a room with balcony. Absolutely stunning room. Huge balcony and magnificent views.

Restaurant options were rather limited, especially with the Garden not open one evening and booked for a corporate event on another.

It is avery good hotel!

The pool zone is small . It became very easy busy?! It was very noisy in the room , working were near hotel.

The bathroom toilet was not clean and the bed/pillow quality was not comfortable or soft. Telephone in the room didn’t work and there was no steamer in room.
