The Flushing Meadows Hotel, Munich

The location of this hotel is excellent 15 min walk from Marianplatz, with a great area to walk through to get there with lots of cafes, bars etc. - a really eclectic vibe. Also within easy walking distance of the Deutsches Museum. This 'could' be exceptional - and has a really good bar - each night there were private events on but we could get drinks but not stay in the bar ? Some rooms have private balcony's with great rooftop views.

The website photographs don't reflect the actual condition of the hotel - its tired at best - and there is a plan to regenerate I believe. No coffee making facilities in the room - access to a coffee machine in the bar - accessed via a roof passage not really adequate, and the small continental breakfast was served in the bar - both ok but not ideal. The room was small , and the bed could only be accessed from one side only. Bathroom needed a birthday. A real shame as this has potential to be a really good boutique hotel - but to do so needs upgrading & the hotel put in the vanguard of the business.

The property was in a great location.

There was dust balls in the corners and the shower did not drain properly. The rooftop bar was supposed to be open until 11 but they closed between 10-10:30 and were actually rude about it. We were refused service because the bartender had washed everything and was closing.

The bar was booked out on both nights of our stay so we couldn’t use it. There was a wedding on one night that lasted until 2pm, plus another hour of staff moving stuff around - our room was directly underneath the bar, so a bad nights sleep. The breakfast is as basic as it’s possible to have.

No value for money. Room didnt look like on the pictures, Walls need a fresh paint. Hot water in the shower only worked half of the time. Had to go up to complain because no one did answer the phone.

Location and friendly team to solve the mess of this ‚hotel‘

If you enjoy cold showers, dirty and broken rooms, and feeling unsafe, then this is the place for you. But if you expect even the basics — warm water, cleanliness, or a working safe — please stay far away. The room was disgusting, everything felt worn out and neglected, and it’s unbelievable that the owners don’t seem to care at all. It’s a real shame, because with a little effort this could be decent, but right now it’s just awful. Please don’t make the same mistake I did — do not book here!

The hotel is well located and offers parking nearby. However, you must first go to the front desk on the 4th floor to get instructions before returning to retrieve your car. Unfortunately, there is no designated space to leave your car temporarily at the entrance, so if you’re traveling alone, the process becomes nearly impossible. The staff is nice and friendly.

The rooms are quite small and not as clean as they appear in the photos. The bathroom lacked several amenities you’d typically expect at this price point. Additionally, the café/bar is located right next to the rooms, making noise a significant issue both during the day and at night. We had to file a complaint due to a private party in the bar that lasted until 3 a.m., we did receive a small reimbursement, but the disruption was unacceptable.

Little hard to find

It was a boutique hotel with a very funky vibe, i loved it. Modern and clean, the staff was lovely. Gave us a local beer upon check in and overall the room was huge with heated bathroom floor. Highly recommend.

Everything was great.

Just a really great stay, nice place with comfortable rooms in a good part of Munich. The people who run this joint are just lovely to talk to and want to help.

We loved the concept of the hotel, small scale with a nice place to hang out in the morning and evening (the upstairs bar). Rooms were unique, well done and bed was super comfortable. The location was perfect, it was close enough to the more touristy center of town but in a great neighborhood that didn’t feel overrun with visitors. We can’t wait to come back!

Heating didn’t work so the room was very cold, we got downgraded with the room without previous notice (due to travelling with the dog), personel at the bar was very polite though the next day in trying to solve our dissapointment.

The room we had was nice and had a nice terrace. The interior design chosen was appealing.

Most things were broken or about to break in this hotel. It didn't seem that the company operating this hotel cared much about details and to make the stay for the visitors as nice as possible.

The bar staff was cool, friendly and accommodating. The overall look and feel of the place was unique and the hotel is so well hidden you might as well feel like you're entering a speakeasy. Great cocktails.

Got the only single bed room in the hotel, was I not able to switch. Luckily I traded rooms with another party in my group. The room was located along the terrace bar and sold as a "loft" but I couldn't swing a cat in there and you had the noise that comes with a rooftop bar that's open until 1am. Wasn't looking for an early bedtime thank heavens, but that might rub some other people the wrong way.

Smelly elevator, I checked in with a rude bartender - because there is no front desk, the room wasn’t cleaned each day. I was charged resort prices for what felt like a roadside motel. Just awful experience.

The location was excellent. The hotel is in a trendy neighbourhood with super access to transport links. The view from our room was outstanding, looking over the city. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating to my early check-in request. I enjoyed being close to Marienplatz and liked the ambiance of the area. Overall a great hotel experience.

The breakfast that was offered was a croissant and a coffee. This was to be expected. Originally finding the hotel was tricky because there was no obvious signage, but again only a minor fault to an overall good stay.

The messaging was clear that breakfast would be croissants, coffee and juices, so expectations were properly set. The croissants were great!

There were no condiments in the rooms for the coffee - great coffee maker, but it would have been nice to have sugar, or even some cream packets.

10/10. The location was perfect – close to the city center with a great breakfast restaurant nearby. Even better, the hotel had a bar on the 4th floor with a balcony facing the street for smokers and a terrace with tables offering a fantastic view of the surroundings. The bar and terrace were so nice that I skipped a party to relax and enjoy the evening there. The room itself was pretty decent too. It had high ceilings with large windows, and the bathroom had a clean look with white tiles and copper accents (like the knobs, hangers, and faucet). An added bonus was the heated bathroom floor, which felt amazing every time I stepped in.

The pictures online didn't really capture how nice the hotel actually was. The rest of it, however, was absolutely great.

It is advertised as an entire apartment, but it was a hotel room. The facilities advertised do not correspond to those in the room.

The smell of cooking fat in the corridors was disgusting. The whole hotel is worn, dated, dark and filthy. The pictures used to advertise the hotel are completely misleading and give a false image. The whole place is run down and hasn’t been dusted for ages. Do not stay here!

Room was very nice and clean, but it's really more a bar than a hotel. If you only need a nice room to sleep and don't care about the service, it's totally fine.

Noone was there in the morning at 8AM to help me with a question or provide breakfast/coffee and so had to leave at 08:15 without coffee. Elevator smells of beer.

Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Loved the decorating, comfy beds, breakfast and rooftop bar!

Parking was a little bit challenging but we are from US so maybe just not used to the parking.

I was traveling with my brother and we enjoyed our stay very much. The location of the hotel is ideal, next to the river and only a refreshing 20 minutes walk from the central station. We got a free upgrade to a fabulous room and even a delicious welcome drink was included. The whole atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff very informal, super friendly and laid back. I will be back at TFMH in a few weeks and can’t wait to spend more nights there.

A small breakfast was induced in the prize but since we got up at 7.30 already we couldn’t find any staff. Since our stay was so splendid we didn’t mind too much this small lack of service or communication.

Not a criticism of the hotel but something to be aware of as a guest - the room we stayed in had the bed located in a mezzanine reachable by a pretty steep, slightly wobbly ladder. If you are afraid of heights or injured make sure to let the hotel know and I'm sure they can help make better arrangements (there are other room options available!)

I loved the bustle of being right in this great neighbourhood, the rooms are under the rooftop bar, but you don't hear a thing and the parking is right behind the hotel, which was great. We had lots of stuff in the car which we didn't want to take up to the room, but everything was secure in the parking lot.

The hotel is in a good location, close to the city centre and transport. The cosy rooftop bar is fabulous and serves great drinks. We loved the breakfast of fresh croissants, coffee and juice, which is included in the room price.

The pillows weren’t great and the room didn’t have a bar fridge. In our room there was a connecting door to another room, which was unlocked and the people next door walked into our room! However the hotel staff quickly locked the door for us.

Very trendy and modern design. The staff is helpful and welcoming. It was not easy to find the place as there is no clear sign on the building (at least to view it from a car). The breakfast is limited but the croissant is very delicious.

The entrance is very hard to see from the street and the check in was a little confusing. Also, when I left around 7:00am there wasn’t anyone available to checkout. I had to just leave my keys and garage key fob at the entrance of the upstairs bar area where I checked in.
