Hotel Cocoon Sendlinger Tor, Munich

Quiet and pleasant. Our room was not big but very well designed. The beds are firm and comfortable. The lobby serves as breakfast room, restaurant and bar, which makes it very lively and pleasant. The possibility to take a bottle of water from the bar was much appreciated and the principle of “cleaning on request” was clearly explained. We really do not understand why one of the reference tourist guides advises to avoid it.

Good location within a short walk of most of the main tourist sites. Very friendly staff. Easy check-in/out. Excellent buffet breakfast with many good quality food selections

Modern design and comfortable space. 5 min walk to the metro.

Not a major issue but there was no cleaning of the room during my stay, I found out you had to notify them of this, but as the check in was virtual it would have been better to make this clearer.

Great location just across Sendlinger To station. Extraordinary vibes, in the rooms, lobby... Loved the various sitting areas. Sustainable approach. Will keep on coming…..

Walking Distance to Oktoberfest, stylish stay, the rooms were small but enough, breakfast was pleasant.

There was music noise up until very early morning.

Great room and hotel had a great lively vibe. Self check in was easy and the wooden room cards are eco friendly and so cute!

Thoughtful and well- designed room and facilities. Imaginative and light-hearted decor. Friendly staff and bar. Free water and fruit is a delightful, welcoming touch. Breakfast was excellent and something for everybody. It is served for a generous amount of time, which would suit those who had a late night, especially ! Overall , apart from a few minor niggles, I enjoyed my stay very much, and would happily visit again. Only a short walk to the station, with several U-tube lines and also trams and buses available. Convenient spot to see the city from. Till next time.

Excellent shower, but the soap bottle was empty. Breakfast food for everyone, but cooked egg and bacon etc was looking a little tired by 9am. Perhaps needs to be refreshed more often. Unusually, breakfast is available from 7 till 11 am. That is a long time for hot food to remain fresh. Also, the evening menu is rather limited to PINSA (Pizza) and only one or two desserts. However, what there is was fine, and the soups were delicious and the service friendly.

Door on each floor was too heavy and unlocking was difficult. Room too dark when there is no sun in the morning. Room not cleaned well and found dusty corners.

This is more of a Europe thing that is different for an American, but little to no airflow in the room and bathroom. Would have enjoyed a fan or a window to open (we were on first floor, so can’t leave door propped at night)

The room was very comfortable and clean.

For the price, our room should have had extra towels with a soaking tub and rain shower. Would have liked a fan in the room too. No breakfast was included and we had just traveled for last few weeks and all of the places were less expensive included breakfast.

Excellent location for Oktoberfest, and the overall vibe and decor of the hotel was great. Having air conditioning also a huge plus.

The WiFi was really bad, sometimes usable but slow, sometimes not usable at all. Having a few hangers supplied for clothes would’ve been nice since the bar was there for them.

The shower temperature was very sporadic. All ended up having cold showers for the most part.

We went for Oktoberfest, the location was great and very handy. Also it was a short walk to Marienplatz (1.2k). Hotel was good, nice roof top bar comfy rooms, very simple but clean and reasonable size

Nothing to complain. I've been in munich 5 days for a conference. This hotel was the good choice, very comfy, close to the metro station and the staff super available.

The room was very comfortable, the bedding was very soft, the pillows and the mattress were high quality. The distance from my office was in a walking distance. The breakfast had all options I normally like.

The drain in the shower was not working properly.

I loved the design of the room and the public spaces, it is trendy but comfortable. The location is excellent, in a charming residential area but very close to the city center, also walkable to the train station. Breakfast had lots of tasty options, at night the same area is a lively bar which was a great place to meet with friends.

No electric kettle in the room. Also it is a bit unusual that room cleaning is by request only, something to keep in mind.

Beautifully-designed hotel, giving calm vibes as advertised. Central location in the Sendlinger area means shopping, cafes, eateries and Munich inner city are all within walking distance. Otherwise the U-Bahn station is also within easy reach to access further parts of Munich.

Wi-fi was slow (not suitable for video streaming) and constantly resetting itself. Room real estate was really tight - the only place we could use to open our suitcases was the entrance hallway (beware the luggage size you are bringing on your trip!)

So convenient location. Friendly staff. Had a bike rental at the hotel. Environmentally friendly. Very clean. It was perfect.

Strange solution with a shower. We had a room that was very close to the front door, and we could hear every slam and beep from our room, but thankfully, the staff managed to change the room (thanks for this)

Nice design, friendly café and garden, clean and tidy.

The smallest room is a bit too small and the bathroom is practically inside the room, so showering is a little bit of a nuisance.

Shower was tricky to get temperature setting right. Breakfast is busy and not really enough seating. Pretty much left to.navigate this on our own by staff

We really liked the laid back professionalism. All employees we met were interested, very kind and helpful. We much appreciated the personal touch. The design of the rooms, the bar and restaurant/breakfast-room were a joy

Perfect location in Munich, walking distance to old town through Seldinger Tor, and to transportation. Awesome breakfast every morning and cool rooftop bar at night.

Cool funky vibe! Two bars on site (at least the main floor one is fine for kids to eat at). Rooms are the standard basic setup with a few bonuses like the light around the bottom of the bed that lights up at night when your feet hit the floor so you can see your way in the dark to the bathroom.

We had issues with the air turning off during the night, which then had us waking up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat. Couldn’t ever get it to not turn off. Also, we left something behind and immediately reached out to the hotel but never got a response.

The room was compact. 100% serviceable but compact. Not much room to relax in. The TV also didn't work as the WiFi was poor... but that wasn't too much of an issue as we were out most of yhe day anyway

Elevators can be tricky to catch if they’re busy with the rooftop, but you can take the stairs if you’re in a hurry

The staff were so nice and accommodating, the room was nice and clean, the shower was nice with good pressure and rituals shampoo. Overall we enjoyed our stay

The bed was super uncomfortable and hard, as someone with back problems i ended up having a lot of pain.

Lovely vibe with fantastic staff. Really nice reception and bar area. Close to ubahn and loads of restaurants. The hideaway cocoon was an amazing room.

In our triple room the air con didn’t work and blew out hot air. We asked for it to be fixed on the first day but still wasn’t by the third. We were offered a fan but it never arrived. Room 117 was also above the delivery area and 3am most mornings was a long delivery of something that woke up the kids.

a good restaurant with tasty food

I planned my vacation travel several months in advance and specifically searched for hotels with available parking, as I am not from Germany and did not want to search for a parking spot upon arrival. The hotel does not allow parking reservations, and when we arrived, the parking was fully occupied. We had to park 1 km away from the hotel, which cost €70 for 1 day and 13 hours.

Nice atmosphere, very attentive and helpful service staff.

The night light under the bed couldn't be turned off, a major distraction and obvious design mistake. We had to block both downlights with pillows. The breakfast was not really convincing, average German three-star hotel fare. Not worth the money, as there are plenty of nicer options in the area.
