Four Seasons Hotel, Mexico City

Paseo de la Reforma, 500 Colonia Juarez, 06600 Mexico City, Mexico. (show on map)

The Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City is a serene, hacienda-style retreat located right on the historic Paseo de la Reforma. Designed by Wimberly, Allyson, Tong and Goo, the hotel is built around a stunning, lush interior courtyard that serves as a tranquil oasis, shielding guests from the city’s vibrant energy.

A defining feature of the property is its dedication to local craftsmanship. Following a major project to showcase Mexican artistry, the rooms now feature bespoke pieces from artisans across the country, ranging from hand-painted basins and forged metals to intricate wood-carved credenzas. This focus on “handmade luxury” creates an authentic atmosphere that feels deeply rooted in Mexico’s cultural heritage.

The hotel’s social life centers around its popular gastrobar, Fifty Mils, and its elegant outdoor pool, which overlooks the treetops of the courtyard. Guests often find the Sunday brunch, which features unlimited champagne, to be a highlight of the local dining scene.

Its location is perfect for those wanting to explore the city’s rich history. You are just steps away from the iconic Angel of Independence monument and the vast Chapultepec Park, which houses world-class attractions like the National Museum of Anthropology and the historic Chapultepec Castle.

Whether you are here for business or to soak up the local art scene, the hotel offers a perfect balance. It manages to feel like a private, peaceful sanctuary while keeping you within easy reach of the most important cultural landmarks in the capital.

Expert reviews

Fodors review:

“Among the most luxurious hotels in the capital, this eight-story hotel was modeled after the 18th-century Iturbide Palace–it even has a traditional inner courtyard with a fountain.”

Featured as Fodor’s Choice in Mexico City.

Frommers review:

“An oasis of elegance and fine living, the Four Seasons is not only one of the best hotels in the Distrito Federal, it’s considered, by many, to be one of the finest in the nation. That evaluation starts with the rooms, which are immaculate, decadently over-sized (and high ceilinged) with a serenity that comes from the fact that most surround a lush, fruit-tree-and-orchid-laden courtyard in this colonial-style building.”

Featured as Frommer’s Exceptional Choice in Mexico City.

Forbes review:

“With marble foyers, a dramatic winding stairwell ascending from the lobby to the second floor, and a stunning courtyard garden with a classical fountain and patio sprinkled with umbrellas, Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City provides a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.”

Telegraph review:

“A comfortable, classy hotel with restaurants and rooms galore that’s also played host to royalty, politicians and pop stars. With Fifty Mils, it also has one of the city’s coolest new cocktail bars, while the hearty, knockout seafood at Zanaya is anything but stuffy.”

Lovely weekend but definitely on the pricey side

Breakfast was amazing, great selection and quality of food. Staff are very accommodating. The location is good for Chapultapec but you'll need to get a taxi to Roma and Condesa. We arranged a guided tour to Teotihuacan and the guide they provided (Francisco) was unbelievably good.

They will charge you the most expensive rate for breakfast (which is not included in the price of the room) even if you don't eat from that part of the buffet. The hotel will charge you a handling fee for taxis and other services (I don't know if that's common in North America but wouldn't really be where we are from).
