Hotel The Peabody, Memphis
Expert reviews
“Even if you’re not staying here, it’s worth a stop to see this 12-story downtown landmark, built in 1925. The lobby has the original stained-glass skylights and the travertine-marble fountain that is home to the hotel’s resident ducks.”
Featured as Fodor’s Choice in Memphis.
“The Peabody Hotel has long been a Memphis icon: it’s the most elegant hotel in town and it’s just up the way from Beale Street. After a major renovation that ended in late 2013, the rooms gained contemporary touches that include boldly patterned rugs, geometric mirrors, sculptural-looking headboards, keyless card systems, and soundproof, energy-efficient windows.”
Featured as Frommer’s Exceptional Choice in Memphis.
“The Peabody is a Memphis landmark. Perhaps best known for its signature ducks that march twice daily to splash in the hotel’s fountain, this grand hotel is also a shopping destination (it’s the home of Lansky’s, Elvis’ favorite clothing store).”

Exceptional
The atmosphere. I love classic old hotels and the Peabody was elegant and beautifully appointed. Staff was unfailingly polite and helpful. First class and first rate.
Cocktails were exorbitantly priced.

I proposed to my girlfriend and the staff were exceptionally friendly and supportive. I can’t thank the Peabody staff en
The historic aspects of the property has been maintained to a high degree! What a visual experience. The rooms were older in some respects but again well maintained. I enjoyed the restaurant, the stores, and the Duck Walk.
I don’t have any complaints

The Peabody is a classic hotel with a lot of class.
Our room was quiet and comfortable. The location is great for exploring the downtown area as well as easy to access other areas of Memphis by car. The staff was always so nice and professional. We ate breakfast at Capriccio twice and ordered room service a couple of other times- food was always delicious.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Peabody. I did ask for a nearby dining recommendation at the Concierge and did not find their one choice interesting or helpful. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay very much.

Wonderful
Peabody is an institution . A professiinally managed piece of living history . But what always stand out here are the staff. They go above and beyond in every instance and on every occasion. They are what make the Peabody experience the best
Fix the iconic rooftop sign ! Its the most photographed , after the ducks , and not great that it’s missing the ‘T’ on ‘The’!

Very relaxing and comfortable.
The spa services.
The check in process. I booked one room and then booked a 2nd night and they did not treat it as a continuous stay. I was checked out then back in without being told. I wanted to pay with cash but my Credit card was charge and I am not sure if I was charged correctly yet because there are more than the $85 on the card that is pending from the Peabody. I will have to wait a few days to see if I was charged correctly

The Peabody Hotel is Memphis at its best.
Staff was A+++. Facility beautiful.
Chez Philippe was a disappointing ripoff. The “Four Course Dinner” consisted of two minuscule appetizers, each a tablespoon of food, a 1/3 size entree, and a tiny dessert. Tablespoons of food served on huge plates and bowls only magnified the absurdity of the ripoff. Total bill including the tip: $615.00 for a party of three. We all left the restaurant still hungry. Pathetic situation that reflects poorly on an otherwise grand hotel.
