The Edwardian Hotel, Manchester

The room was clean and very comfortable with all the amenities we expected. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choice. The location is perfect for the parts of Manchester we tend to visit.

More drink sachets required in the room, we used all the milk when we arrived in 2 drinks. When we asked for more they were delivered to the room.

2nd time staying and love everything. The techno gym added a lux touch to the stay. Always top tier with them can’t fault the hotel.

The hotel was really lovely and all the staff were extremely polite and friendly. The breakfast choice was really good too.

The only thing I could fault was the lack of access to the 3rd floor by stairs as I don't use lifts.

Been staying at this hotel once per year for the past 7 years: same problem with the hot and cold water in the sink! It’s either too hot or too cold! It’s a shame, really, that such a hotel still cannot figure out how to fix such a basic issue. Also, it’s been the same in-room dining menu for years. Definitely can do better in terms of variety and taste.

Yeah it is a 5 star, I sincerely enjoyed my stay, staff were polite and everything you need is in your room.

I had special requests to surprise my boyfriend with some gifts that the hotel offer and it was executed perfectly we had such a lovely time the hotel couldn’t have been more accommodating

The staff, the decor, the ambience. Everything was amazing. They even left a slice of the most delicious cake for my daughter's birthday.

The room was stunning with a very comfortable bed. All very clean with beautiful decor, it’s a classy hotel and staff were very helpful. Breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from and the spa facilities are amazing it was such a calming experience, which is what I needed.

I had a slight issue with my room card not working trying to get back in my room, but staff were more than helpful to sort this.

The room was fabulous. The bed was extremely comfortable and the view was great. Loved all the little personal touches and the luxurious feel of the hotel. Room service was great and the man who delivered it was lovely. We really enjoyed out stay.

The only downfall was that we couldn't use the pool. Due to my daughter being 11 we were not allowed in at the times when we were free. We were told to call up to see if the pool was busy and if it wasn't then we could come down. This was at about 8 pm as we had been out all day. But then when we rang, the person who we spoke to said we couldn't come down as it was busy. We felt a bit disappointed as my daughter had been looking forward to it and wasn't going to be jumping in or messing about so we felt we missed out a bit. I understand hotels have rules about children but it just was a bit of disappointing aspect to our stay.

The breakfast food is good and the experience at breakfast is run extremely well by excellent staff, who are attentive and very professional. Great experience and ambience.

We were on a bed and breakfast deal at the hotel, but they charge an additional amount for some breakfast items e.g. waffles, pancakes and brioche french toast. The eggs Benedict had no extra fee and was excellent.

Location is great and breakfast was good

Rooms were fine, but we paid for a superior room which was just like a standard room - not sure why they’d class it as superior. The spa & pool is only available in pre-bookable hour slots - so actually not available when we wanted it. It also isn’t managed so was still really busy.

truly enjoyed my stay with my boyfriend, whom I treated to a late birthday celebration. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety of options. We loved the spa facilities and the relaxing massages I booked for us. The location is perfect — right in the city centre with everything within walking distance. It is a bit on the expensive side, but worth every penny. We loved it here and can’t wait to come back! The hotel staff was exceptional from the beginning of our stay up until we left.

We liked everything no complaints

Clean, modern, fantastic central location, what you expect from a 5 star hotel. This is one of only two hotels I have stayed in where I can sleep well on day 1, usually takes 3 days to be able to sleep properly. This is the 4th time I've stayed in here and the same each time.

Comfortable room, great location and really friendly staff. Good facilities, although on this occasion we didn't use the spa - but it looked fantastic. We were able to walk up to 20 minutes, to all the things we wanted to do and see in central Manchester.

It is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. The breakfast was very good, but the hot offerings (bacon, eggs, beans, etc.) could have been better. Decaf tea in the room (as well as the other offerings) would have been good.

Location was ideal. Staff were very helpful in upgrading our room due to my husband having had a knee operation.

Location, staff helpful and very polite and Spa facilities were wonderful.

The bar closed earlier than l expected. We were not ready to leave whist enjoying our cocktails. So left the hotel to spend money at another location.

Location is brilliant for city, exceptional service love the front of house cannot do enough to help on check in. Leaving baggage before or after is no problem no matter how long. Stayed twice now and for special occasions it will always be top of my list

Luxurious hotel great staff and facilities

If I was to be picky and I do mean picky as this hotel is excellent. We ordered room service/breakfast great standard of food but coffee and toast were cold and butter was almost frozen. Wouldn't let that put anyone off this is a great place to stay

Exceptional service, welcoming experience, beautiful surroundings. Our room was gorgeous and the bed linen, mattress, pillows made me feel like I was floating in a cloud - very luxurious. The spa facilities were the icing on the cake - a calm, zen space to hang out and relax, swim, sauna and steam. I can’t fault this place and if you are after a frictionless stay which makes you feel like a million dollars then I can’t recommend this place enough.

Gorgeous downstairs - looked stunning! Lovely bedroom and I loved the bathroom. Great toiletries! Fantastic cocktail bar. Friendly staff.

A lot of waiting for lifts - might be better to dedicate individual lifts to set floors rather than all three lifts for all 14 floors. We had to wait an additional 30 minutes for our room to be ready but we were given free drinks to compensate. Some biscuits would have been nice with the tea and coffee in our room. One pair of slippers in our room had definitely been used by previous guests - very off putting!!
