The Edwardian Hotel, Manchester

A hotel of quiet luxuries. We had a lovely clean and quiet room, despite facing the road outside where there are many bars. Location could not have been better and pool was wonderful. Staff were also very nice :)

One of the lifts was broken during our stay. Not a massive issue for us as we were on a lower floor and could take the stairs but there was a wait for the remaining lifts.

All the staff were really friendly and welcoming! The room was light and spacious. Excellent location, especially for Lane7, peaky blinders etc. Spa was beautiful, definitely one of the best hotel spas in the city...great facilities and really relaxing!

Clean, easy layout, central location

I really liked the gentleman on the front desk. He was really helpful and kind. I can’t remember his name, but I would like to give a big thank you to him. He also checked me out in the morning and again was just as pleasant and friendly. Pool was great. Guests were great. Room was great. Great location.

Only with a lift being out, time taken for lifts was longer than you would expect. However I unbderstand these things happen and improvements are being made

The Spa facilities were excellent and the hotel was very clean and smelt lovely in the hall ways. The ice facilities were a nice touch and I mentioned on the booking that it was my daughter’s 21st and a cake and card was put in our room as a surprise which was lovely.

The lift situation… it took over 10 mins to get access to the lift which is not acceptable in a 5 star hotel. The staff on reception didn’t smile and I think for the price of the stay breakfast should have been included.

Great location and fabulous conversion of an iconic building. Loved the pool and spa area - it’s quite small so you have to book an hour slot though which may be inconvenient Lovely breakfast.

A bit style over substance. Seems to be designed for tall guests so the in room toiletries were fixed to the wall at inconvenient heights - I’m average height and found them ok just. Tiny cups to make tea/coffee so the tea ended up over strong. Low and v firm mattress- not the most comfortable . Light switches on only 1 side of the bed. Together with blackout blind made it quite tricky. No door to basin so impossible not to get up in the night without waking partner. Room service didn’t answer after midnight.

A beautiful hotel, amazing pool, gym and spa and excellent breakfast. In a great location and all the staff were so welcoming and very helpful. A wonderful bar and restaurant and the decor in all areas was lovely

The room was really good. Spacious, clean, great view.

No hairdryer. Prior to our stay, I contacted twice regarding balloons and organising them to surprise my husband for his 30th but got no response both times.

The staff were very friendly, with the breakfast team particularly welcoming and attentive. Breakfast itself was varied and plentiful. The bar had a relaxed, inviting atmosphere, and my room was comfortable and clean — the upgrade to a suite was very much appreciated.

The lifts took a very long time to arrive and it wasn't easy to find or access the stairs to use as an alternative.

The Spa was very crowded.

The staff were so helpful and attentive. They very kindly upgraded my room for free for my birthday, and the staff gave me a birthday card on the day when I went for my spa treatment. The hotel is beautiful, in a great location, the food and drink was tasty and the spa was so relaxing. Couldn't have had a better stay.

the lifts are a bit slow so that can be frustrating but it is an old building so I suppose its not that easy to fit modern fast lifts

The lifts were a pain only 1 working and every time you come to go down it was so stressful tuck ages up and down

All of the staff were attentive and helpful. We were checked in by a lovely receptionist, Kyaw.

We enjoyed everything. However, the lifts were not adequate for the number of floors there are. We did have to wait ages and then the lift would be too full for us to get in.

Amazing everything

Fantastic hotel right in the middle of everything we wanted. Our room was lovely, modern and comfortable. Will be staying again for sure.

The lift was a little frustrating as we wanted to go down on check out but as it was busy the lift went up first and stopped at every floor even though full. A small thing that wasn’t a big deal but if in a rush I suggest taking the stairs.

Lifts are being upgraded so down to 2 lifts in use. Can be a lengthy wait at peak times to get from bedrooms in the higher levels. We were on floor 14

The rooms were spacious, bed was so comfy. Robe and slippers were a nice surprise. Staff were always helpful, happy and smiling, nothing ever to much trouble for them. Spa was spotless and very relaxing.

Thought the breakfast was overpriced, had to wait for coffee and tea but the waiter said they were having trouble with the machine, so maybe just a one off. He was very apologetic and a lovely man very chatty.

I dont like not having a door to the washbasin area from the bedroom. I would prefer privacy from my partner when I brush my teeth etc We asked to change room as ours was initially a bit scruffy and with a view that was not as great as when we stayed last time. However we got a much nicer room and view very quickly, and a later check out when we asked too.

Great spa, nice spacious rooms. Location was perfect and the bar was lovely as well.
