Great location and fantastic customer service, the receptionist couldn’t help us enough and ensured we felt very welcome and special.

Very comfortable room, excellent bar and good restaurant. Staff charming and helpful.

The bath/shower was a bit hazardous for an 81 year old (me). It needs a grab handle to make getting in and out easier/safer. Otherwise all good.

It was absolutely stunning! The architecture and decor was beautiful. The bed was also incredibly comfortable!

This is an amazingly beautiful property and I selected it for that reason and its location. But it was the staff -- every single person I interacted with -- were outstanding. I was pleased over and over again when I asked a question or for assitance.

Unfortunately we were upgraded and was appreciated as our first visit the room was impressive comfortable but we found out later the trains are very loud noisy and the building rumbles as it next door literally so last train I think was nearly midnight and next must of been 5am roughly so not much sleep could also do with a fan in the room we did mention this at reception the lady said sorry and hoped we have a safe journey home next time will ask for a different room

This hotel is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fabulous. There are lots of nice touches- eg fresh milk in room, social hour in bar. The gym is well equipped.

Great experience all round - the staff were very helpful, the rooms were great, the bars were ace and the breakfast excellent.

The card switch on entry for powering up the room was intermittent.

The entrance is a wow moment which my son loved. All the facilities are impressive.

Breakfast seemed disorganised but tasty and plentiful.

Lovely stay - you are so welcomed from the very first minute that you walk in. Lovely room and really comfy bed. I was near the lift which was annoying as you could hear everything but overall a lovely stay. Great location too. You are only a stroll away from everything. Make sure you check out the bar downstairs - lovely cocktails!

The location, beautiful lobby, the scent and the spaciousness of the room.

The drainage during a shower, the lack of instructions on how to make a service call ie. no card/information left next to phone, but then again it could just be our room that was allocated to us.

Myself and my husband arrived half an hour before check in, the front of house was fantastic, welcoming and checked us in immediately. Very friendly and approachable ladies on the front desk - nothing but praise for them. We paid for a King Room and I was very satisfied with the size and cleanliness of the room. It was perfectly presented and stocked of all complimentary refreshments, a member of staff even brought fudge to our door within 10/15 minutes of arriving as a welcome to the room. I received a text from the front of house to check I was happy with the room and I was. The shower was very hot once you gave it a minute, very handy having the hair products and hair dryer available in the room too. The hotel itself was magnificent, truly magical. It did remind me of a grand bank from many years ago. I recommend taking the stairs if you are able as that was a sight in itself. We ate at Refuge in the evening, we ordered two small plates, a big plate, two extras and three desserts. A bottle of cider and a cocktail. We spent around £149 with a service charge that we were more than happy to pay. The service was on point, food was exceptional and the speed was good. You didn't feel rushed even though the dining room was very busy. Nothing bothered you while you were eating which I loved. I requested extra tea bags to be sent up to the room and this was done without a fuss, the gentleman again was very friendly and couldn't do more for us. Breakfast was truly great, nothing was too much, the food was again exceptional and unlimited. I highly recommend eating here. A late check out was ideal, and the hotel even offered to store our bags for the day if we wanted to enjoy Manchester. Wonderful service!!

I didn't realise we would be as close to the trains as we were, this was beyond the control of the hotel and entirely my mistake as I should have researched better beforehand. There was a pane of glass missing from our window which is why it seemed louder than it should have been, this is the only reason for my review of an 8, otherwise it was perfect.

My only criticism would be that the bed mattress was a little soft and uneven.

The architecture was stunning to look at. Size of the rooms was fantastic. Comfortable beds. The complementary drink hour was the icing on the cake. Also breakfast was excellent.

The bathroom light wouldn’t come on without the main light being on in bedroom. Which was annoying thru the night. There was no telephone in room so had to have one installed.

The hotel was very beautiful and the rooms were large with lovely high ceilings. It was also in a fantastic location and the facilities such as gym and restaurant were excellent

The aircon in my room was either too cold or not cold enough so temperature was an issue

Great comfortable room. Everything I needed for one night stay.

There was a bit of noise in night from taps plumbing that kept me awake a little but this was only downside. You could hear street noise but typical for this location I guess.

I loved the historic building and features. Rooms had an 70's retro feel.

I feel like the food options (lunch /dinner) were limited in the hotel but local have so many places to eat. However breakfast selection was great!

The room TV didn't work and the AC was strong at breakfast. This cooled the food very quickly.

Excellent location for travel, as opposite the train station. The building is beautiful to walk around inside & out & everyone that works there was very helpful & friendly

THis hotel was above and beyond my expectations, rooms were spotless and the hotel itself was beautiful. The staff were very professional and also very friendly. I will be back next time I travel to england.
