Location

No microwave, no ice machine, elevator very slow, floor in room was wet.

I was pleased with the breakfast offerings. The hotel has a charming, albeit slightly dated, decor and is conveniently located near a bustling street filled with attractions. I liked the view of my room.

The decoration and facilities of hotel are a little bit old. The in-room service was lacking; during our stay, they only changed the towels and replenished the toilet paper without cleaning the room.

Clean and quaint. I like older city buildings refurbished into classic hotels.

Parking was a bit pricey but it was better then parking on the street I guess.

Excellent location, very friendly staff. Great rooms. Nice historic feel, while the rooms are modern and clean. Can highly recommend! Loved the lobby!

The staff was exceptional. Jenny at the bar was so great, personable, smart, and efficient. Anna, who was also helping at the bar was wonderful. Holly at the front desk was very helpful and gave me a list with restaurant recommendations that I really liked.

Valet parking cost is incredibly expensive. Only 4 hangers were in the room and I called down for more which were never delivered. Drinks were good but expensive.

Prime location in the Houston downtown area. It’s a walkable distance from every bar/club you’d want to visit in main street.

I loved the design of the hotel and the room, especially the room layout. Very nice size room, tub, shower, and sink.

However upon walking in the room it smelled like a toilet/toilet water just as it did in the lobby. As well as attention to detail being lacked when it came to the cleanliness of the room.

The hotel was really nice, very vintage. Neat architecture.

Showers had no bench for women or handicap. Buffet was overpriced, and the food was not very good. Bed was like sleeping on a rock, not comfortable.

The Icon is a true icon. A hotel with a real authentic atmosphere. The rooms are spacious. The staff mis super helpful.

The hotel is a little outdated. It could use a facelift, but must keep its feel and looks.

Beautiful Hotel. Great location in downtown. The staff was really nice with checking in. The valet service was great. The room was a wonderful 65° so that was awesome! It really was a good stay.

There was no hot water in the shower, and the bathroom didn't seem like it was clean as in wiped down.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms and the hotel itself were beautiful. The bathrooms are gorgeous and spacious! Location was also great.

Breakfast was convenient but pricey ($54) for a child and one adult.

The ICON hotel is centrally located, and thus quite convenient. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are quite luxurious. Lots of storage area. Very comfortable bed. They have room service breakfast, though the food wasn't very good. Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. Their showers have amazing water pressure!! My room had large shower AND a soaker tub- I appreciated that. Bottled water offered free of charge in the rooms. Other people report they paid for Wifi, but that was not my experience- it was free and fast.

My bathroom had 2 shampoos and no shower gel. The alarm clock had been set by a prior guest, which maintenance hadn't realized, so I was woken up at 5:30AM- not ideal, but they did offer me free breakfast to make up for this situation. The hallways of the hotel look very dated, a contrast to the renovated rooms. Breakfast buffet selection was okay, but by 9:30 most things were cold and no longer fresh.

Great location, parked the car with valet and was able to walk to all destinations. Room was clean and spacious, nice environment over all.

No ice machine on floor had to ask since mini fridge in room didn't keep anything cool. Overnight frontdesk clerk seemed annoyed when I returned from concert and keycard wouldn't let into my room.

That breakfast was only for 2 people (per room) and we were a family of 4. So only had breakfast one of the three days that we were there.

Breakfast was offered for about $24 a person downstairs. I purchased a room with “breakfast included” thinking it would be room service style, however it was buffet style. A good regular hot breakfast, but I would have definitely been able to find something more unique downtown for that price.

The hotel is very nice. I loved being so close to everything we were in town to do. For reference, we went to the opera and House of Blues. The metro rail is right there and very convenient. Usually hotel beds mess up my back but this one was super comfy. The staff were very helpful.

I regret buying breakfast in advance and I felt it was really for convenience. The continental breakfast is overpriced for what it is. I wish we'd skipped it and found breakfast outside the hotel for that price.

The room was clean, very nice and comfortable. The location was ideal and there were many places of high quality to eat within walking distance. There is a beautiful bar in the hotel itself however I did not use that. Very nice place. Price is a little high but this is the norm these days for quality, convenience and location.

Halls were quiet. No smoke smell. Staff was attentive. Lobby bar was excellent with a small selection. Hotel is around the corner from downtown strip full of nightlife. Leave and grab a drink from a local bar or nightclub.

Room 708. Bed was lumpy, jet tub was broken. The absurd amount for overnight valet when there is no self parking around. Breakfast; some pancakes were burnt. Elevators were out of service for a short period.

Beautiful historic hotel and rooms, great gym, downtown is pretty dead on the weekends aside from sat night. But I was aware of this fact when I booked.

Valet staff is great, front desk could maybe be a little more hospitable depends on who you get. At this price point, you really expect service... otherwise you might as well air bnb.

The room was nice and clean. My favorite part it the bath w/jets featuring the window to still see into the resting area.

The parking situation isn’t ideal. There’s valet for $45/a night but no self-park option. My guest and I had to park at the next block and walk with our bags, food, etc.

The ambience of the place was great. We had one of the best breakfast since we've been traveling. Dress was our server and was very friendly. We had the bartender, and she made sure we were satisfied
