Klaus K Hotel, Helsinki

Location, people, breakfast.

The bed was very comfortable. The hotel was perfectly located to access trams as well as within walking distance to sightseeing locations like the Skywheel, churches, museums, shopping. The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day, and twice during my stay I needed an early morning taxi and the front desk assisted me very quickly.

The proximity of the hotel to transportation was great. All our restaurant options were within walking distance. The staff was very accommodating and helpful.

The cleanliness of the floors was an issue with the constant traffic from outside. This made the floors dirty but this did not distract from our stay.

Everything was neat and cozy. After having travelled through Finland the weeks before and having stayed in different places it was super nice to have a comfortable bed and a nice shower. It was even better to be able to order my dinner to the room and it arrived very fast (needed some spices but still rather good)!

Only luxury complaints here... The Netflix on my tv didn't work and I also couldn't connect my phone to use the screen sharing option. I was missing a shoe-iron (shoe-horn?) in the room. The control knob on the radiator fell of when I touched it so I couldn´t turn down the heat (my room was super warm all night) and when I let the staff know they said someone would check on it after I would check out in the morning. Would have been nice if they had checked on it right away but I just opened a window to cool down the room (sorry if the electricity bill was very high)...

Extremely helpful and efficient staff. Warm, clean and comfortable room with lovely shower-room. Great location.

The staff was amazing and very helpful all the time :) The room was very cozy. The breakfast was riched with many options and flavors. The location was great, near to everything in the city center.

A small issue, was only inside the bathroom, when you took a shower the water was going outside.

The hotel is located in a very central street of Helsinki, it's very convenient to sigth seeing and walking around the centre. Breakfast is really reach and diverse. Asked for a phone charger at the reception and they borrowed me one.

The fan in the room didn't stop making a very settle but conitnuos noise despite me turning down the temperature at the termostat.

Location was ideal! Nice breakfast selection including gluten free. Exceptional breakfast serving staff.

No real decaf coffee. Reception staff not trained to concierge ability. Not geared toward tourist service at all. Could not give directions. Not familiar with established cultural attractions.

The hotel is in a good location. Out front they have a restaurant Toscanini which has great service and excellent food. The breakfast is a large buffet on the 2nd Floor. The food is fresh, well cooked, prepared and laid out in a pleasant room. Coffee is very good. Staff at the hotel are very pleasant and helpful. My room though small was comfortable. The bed and pillows were just right. I got a good nights sleep every night.

The room I had needed some touchups for scrapped or chipped paint. Shower in the room could have been bigger. Would have preferred a wardrobe over an open bracket/rack hanger unit. The hotel has 2 elevators but only one goes to the ground floor. In the morning the elevator that did not go to the ground floor was the only one working. As I use a cane this meant that if I wanted to get to the lobby I often had to walk down the wide stairs. The hotel has minimal marking so the first 2 days I was there I had to use Google Maps to find my way back often finding I was close. I realized that there was a sign pointing to the restaurant on the main cross street so that was the one I followed

Weird smell in the hallways

This was my second stay at Klaus K, and I'd go back again! The Italian restaurant downstairs (Toscanini) is excellent, and it's definitely worth dining in - or ordering room service. Location-wise, the hotel is very central, on a beautiful tree-lined avenue. The staff are friendly and professional, and there is secure luggage storage.

The hotel lifts were a little temperamental, with some only stopping at some half-floors, so that took a little getting used to! And I think I had breakfast at the end of a sitting, as it was a little bare - but I'll go earlier next time.

Breakfast was great with loads of choice. Great location, easy access to all the sights and museums.

The décor in the room was a bit dated and I would have preferred to have the use of a table in the room. Friday nights was quite noisy.
