Hotel St. George, Helsinki

Very well located, this is an excellent hotel to stay it. We loved our room, attention to detail was obvious and breakfast was very good. Spa facility was top notch and we used this a number of times. Security strong, which is welcome.

Takes a bit of getting used to the various lifts and levels to get around the hotel - not that intuitive or well signed. Although understand the reasons for it, clunky system to have to check first before using the pool and sauna facilities. Having said that, we had no problems each time we did want to use.

Everything was good but the room did not have drawers, or tables to put suitcases, also the window was the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel

Everything excellent

The location is excellent. High quality coffees at the breakfast (including takeaway lattes) were great. The cocktail bar, while expensive, was excellent. Spacious room, Japanese remote controlled bidet toilet gets the thumbs up every time. The Spa and sauna were just right. The restaurant downstairs (Boon Nam) is excellent, make sure you enjoy the tasting menu at least once.

One drawback to having a street side window on the weekend was the noise during the night. Despite the room being fairly quiet, loud motorbikes were revving their engines and setting car alarms off. Perhaps an even greater level of soundproofing is needed on those particular rooms. The gym (open 24 hours btw) was very small, which is a shame, because there is excellent equipment inside.

We had two rooms which were next to each other with a private hallway so became a suite type affair, the only slightly odd thing was that the boys twin room was twice the size of the room for adults

The property was okay but looks a bit outdated in the common areas. I have booked this place as a recommendation because of the spa facilities, however I was shocked when on arrival I have been asked to pay an additional 20 EUR in order to enjoy them. I would expect a 5 star hotel to allow you to use the spa and gym facilities for free irrespective of the room category.

Lobby and common area facilities look a little outdated. Paying an additional fee to access the Pool and Sauna in a five star hotel is simply not acceptable. Pool is also very small.

I love the spa, especially the hot sauna and cold pool. My wish is though that it would be open longer than until 21.00. Breakfast is amazing and the staff so friendly.

The only thing I can think of that could be improved, is to put the cutlery on the breakfast table on the cloth rather than directly on the table. That seems a tiny bit unhygienic.

A modern and exceptionally clean hotel with prompt and courteous service from all staff. Very comfy bed and large walk-in rainfall shower. Great breakfast and creative cocktails at the bar.

€60 for a buffet breakfast is too expensive, as is €35 for a double whiskey. There was no storage in the room for our luggage and clothing. The view out of the small window was different to what was shown on booking.com’s website.

Everything was 10/10. One of my fav' hotels!

One of the best hotels in Helsinki, though pricey. We had a comfortable room with a nice view over the park, a huge bathroom and great bed. The spa was so nice and the wintergarden-lounge was beautiful. Superb breakfast!

Staycation babymoon late May was just perfect! We had an ateljer room with balcony (and tub) and it was definitely worth every extra penny. Enjoyed breakfast and sunset drinks both at the balcony. Also the room itself is very lovely and atmosphere is so serene. Spa area is lovely but small. We went there around 10am saturday and were able to enjoy it with only couple of other people present, so I do recommend considering the timing.

The breakfast and service at the breakfast was very good. Rooms are clean and functional.

Crowded spa and requirement to book in advance as well as 45min time limit. Also being asked to do self checkin and checkout is not that common in 5 star hotels.

The location is good,. In general, clean and okay..

Some of the reception staff were cold and not helpful (with the exception of Anna and one other person). At check-in we had to carry all our heavy luggages to the room by ourselves, no porter helped, no one showed the room. There was no concierge desk. The only lounge of the hotel was rented out for private events so we had no place to sit and spend time at the hotel. They charged us for my husband’s massage appointment that we tried to cancel more than 4 hours before. I on the other hand took my massage and was surprised to have been assigned a male masseur without being told anything in advance. They must’ve at least asked me! Finally, after checkout they tried to charge us extra for a housekeeper’s comment that smoking was made in the room which was absolutely not true.At the time of entry we were told we can smoke in the balcony and there was even an ashtray and my husband only smoked in the balcony once or twice. Never ever inside the room. We were very disappointed by this baseless accusation after our checkout.
