Hotel Fabian, Helsinki

An excellent hotel to stay in while exploring the old town of Tallinn. It is also within a reasonable walking distance from the ferry terminal. The breakfast buffet was good with lots of choices. Our room was quite large and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful especially when we had a 4am departure to the airport. We would definitely stay here again.

We totally enjoyed our stay here. It is close to most attraction, if not by walking then public transport. We had a large room with a window that could be opened. The bathroom was large and water hot, and lots of it. Really enjoyed the breakfast there was a lot of variety. Nice to see pastries come straight out of the oven.

The location was perfect for us, near the old market hall. The staff was amazing. The breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious, cozy, and well-equipped.

The main hotel entrance did not directly open onto the street. Felt like you were turning into an alley. It was perfectly safe, but took me a while to get comfortable with this.

Staff is exceptional and very friendly and helpful. The room we had was awesome. Very spacious and comfortable, with a sitting area and even a dining room table, which comes in very handy. It felt like home, even if we were only there for 2 nights. We've been traveling all over the world for many years and Hotel Fabian is easily in our top 5. We hope to return to Helsinki soon and when we do, we will be staying at Hotel Fabian. Thanks to the team for a great experience. Oh, did I mention the breakfast? Despite not having a hotel kitchen, it was one of the best ever. And the complimentary espresso machine (just ask staff nicely for an espresso and they'll be happy to help). Cannot fault our stay.

We had some flushing issues in the toilet. Nothing major but we forgot to mention it on check out.

Wish there was a sauna, but the lack of one gave us an excuse to explore.

We stayed at the Fabian in 2011 and 2012 with our young daughters and my parents while living in Tampere for two years. We loved it then and absolutely loved it again this year. We chose a Lux room which was so spacious and decorated beautifully. The breakfast (which we have dreamt about for the past 14 years!) did not disappoint. Now that one of our daughters lives and works in Helsinki, we come once or twice a year, and usually stay in an apartment so we can cook. This year we booked a place 45 minutes away so needed a hotel for the first night. I’m so glad we chose the Fabian. We will make plans to stay here again!

All properties in Helsinki are expensive so it’s hard to say this is value for money. It is however a good spot and I’d return on a future visit.

Hotel FabianI was well-located to downtown which made it easy for us to get around. The staff was probably the most friendly hotel staff I have ever encountered in my life. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the shower was very large. This was likely one of the biggest rooms I have ever had in Europe. I really loved that they had a guestbook that “lives” in that room and to read the different notes over time was really cute. I have never seen this in a hotel before and I thought it was a really nice touch.

The lobby was very small and not really a good place to gather. While I felt the bedroom area was super clean, I felt the bathroom walls needed to be washed. I could see toothpaste splatter from previous guests which was a bit gross. They do not provide you with lotion. The room was quite warm and it took us a minute to figure out that the thermostat on the wall did not control the heat but that there were manual knobs to turn the heat down. Lastly, I did order a bottle of prosecco for a special occasion to be in the room upon arrival and that was done but the note made my husband feel like the hotel gifted it to him vs the fact I paid for it for him. Just a little something to think about for the future.

Fabulous location in the centre of Helsinki and close to public transport, and yet very quiet, calm and peaceful. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was freshly made and delicious.

Hard to control the air conditioning. Window in the hotel room wouldn't open. And, there was no sauna in the hotel!

Good range of dishes available for breakfast. The porridge and berries was excellent. Very well appointed spacious room. Great location if arriving by Silja line ferry, only 5 - 10 minutes walk from the Olympia terminal building.

Nowhere to hang our towels to dry, so had to leave on the floor to be changed.

Fabian was exceptionally welcoming and the best place we stayed at throughout our entire trip of 3 weeks. The food was superb and a variety of options and better than expected.
Fabian treated us like family. Every staff member was extremely pleasant, kind and helpful.
