Excellent pillows

No coffee machine in the room. We were not warned at the horrendous overcharging in the in house Thai Restaurant. Mediocre food at 168 euros. Was charged $57 euros to simply change the date of our stay. Would warn anybody thinking of booking here that the room is very overpriced- not of value at this price point.

The pictures were different than I reality

The hotel itself was fine, but our room was freezing cold during the entire day. We complained to the staff who said they would fix it, but nothing appeared to have been done. Needless to say this did nothing for the experience.

The room was really cold and they tried to fix to no avail so we ended up behind given a portable heater. We had to call and request for a kettle which I thought is a standard in rooms.

The breakfast and service at the breakfast was very good. Rooms are clean and functional.

Crowded spa and requirement to book in advance as well as 45min time limit. Also being asked to do self checkin and checkout is not that common in 5 star hotels.

Some of the reception staff were cold and not helpful (with the exception of Anna and one other person). At check-in we had to carry all our heavy luggages to the room by ourselves, no porter helped, no one showed the room. There was no concierge desk. The only lounge of the hotel was rented out for private events so we had no place to sit and spend time at the hotel. They charged us for my husband’s massage appointment that we tried to cancel more than 4 hours before. I on the other hand took my massage and was surprised to have been assigned a male masseur without being told anything in advance. They must’ve at least asked me! Finally, after checkout they tried to charge us extra for a housekeeper’s comment that smoking was made in the room which was absolutely not true.At the time of entry we were told we can smoke in the balcony and there was even an ashtray and my husband only smoked in the balcony once or twice. Never ever inside the room. We were very disappointed by this baseless accusation after our checkout.

The plunge pool wasn't available, the breakfast offerings weren't great, and the room was very crowded.

Amazing location. The room was very good and whilst not huge was perfect for our stay. The spa was fantastic and I had a hot stone massage treatment which was exceptional. The breakfast was delicious. The bar menu was not very big but the staff were great and accommodated our requests. We didn’t get to try the in house Asian restaurant as it was closed for the summer.

All the carefully thought-out design features, so that everything in our room was easy to operate and very comfortable to stay in. (eg lighting worked well and switches were in the right places). Also loved the art/design fusion with lots of interesting artworks in public areas (eg large hanging Ai Weiwei sculpture).The staff were very friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast staff were exceptional.

Very good breakfast with freshly made eggs. Room was spacious, loved the soda stream in the room for making sparkling water.

Room cleaning was not perfct when we arrived, something left from previous guest and they more or less missed us the next day simply as we had do not disturb on only until after breakfast. By 11 we switched to make up the room and by 5pm they hadn't done it and we needed some fresh towels. Which they did bring.

The indoor garden!

Very well located, this is an excellent hotel to stay it. We loved our room, attention to detail was obvious and breakfast was very good. Spa facility was top notch and we used this a number of times. Security strong, which is welcome.

Takes a bit of getting used to the various lifts and levels to get around the hotel - not that intuitive or well signed. Although understand the reasons for it, clunky system to have to check first before using the pool and sauna facilities. Having said that, we had no problems each time we did want to use.

Everything was good but the room did not have drawers, or tables to put suitcases, also the window was the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel

Everything excellent

The location is excellent. High quality coffees at the breakfast (including takeaway lattes) were great. The cocktail bar, while expensive, was excellent. Spacious room, Japanese remote controlled bidet toilet gets the thumbs up every time. The Spa and sauna were just right. The restaurant downstairs (Boon Nam) is excellent, make sure you enjoy the tasting menu at least once.

One drawback to having a street side window on the weekend was the noise during the night. Despite the room being fairly quiet, loud motorbikes were revving their engines and setting car alarms off. Perhaps an even greater level of soundproofing is needed on those particular rooms. The gym (open 24 hours btw) was very small, which is a shame, because there is excellent equipment inside.

We had two rooms which were next to each other with a private hallway so became a suite type affair, the only slightly odd thing was that the boys twin room was twice the size of the room for adults

Reception staff was neutral and indifferent. The room is small. Very cold floor in the bathroom, the room doesn’t has radiator or smart floor heating. Had to ask to change the bed linen twice.

Food from room service was GREAT and location is very nice. Bed was great. Spacious room. Breakfast was decent, nice healthy selection. Breakfast staff and room service personnel are very professional and friendly.

Welcome to the hotel was like I had to excuse myself that I need to check in, sad first impression. Unprofessional reception staff, no customer contact, politeness poorish and unpersonalized, Reception standard low, absolutely not 5*. Room with thin connected door was noisy. Room had no coffee machine or kettle. Nobody to help with luggage.

Rooms are small. Travel adaptor would not fit into socket beside bed, Desk in room barely fits a computer and notebook, sink in bathroom was tiny, shower door didn't close properly and breakfast range was poor. overall very disappointing and not 5* worthy.

amazing breakfast

double bed of 140cm for adults is too small. impossible to have a good night sleep. bed size was not clear when I booked. Pillows are too big for my taste. staff attention was poor. swimming pool not allowed for kids (<16). that was not mentioned or not clear when booked.

Location, decor and breakfast

Staff at reception when I first checked in were not helpful when I asked where I could go WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE to get a pre-departure Covid test the following day (I was only staying two nights). I went back a few hours later and a second staff member recommended two places and I double confirmed with her that they were nearby. The next morning I booked online and paid a large fee for one she had recommended only to find out quickly thereafter that it was a 30 minute taxi ride away from the Hotel. So then I had to ask a third staff member to help me cancel the appointment and get a refund -- he succeeded, but only after I had wasted about an hour. He was able to recommend a place nearby. After my test I went to try to get some lunch at the St George Bakery -- I was short on time so I ordered some soup to take away. It took them about 25 minutes to make the soup and pack it up, which seemed abnormally long. Anyway, they finally gave me the bag and I took the elevator back up to my room. Before I could get to my room the whole bottom of the bag broke open and the soup (which was bright green) gushed out onto the hallway carpet in front of my door -- I entered quickly, but the soup was still spilling and the entire front hall of my room, my purse (which was hanging on my shoulder) and one of the chairs in the room was covered with soup. It was really bizarre to think that a restaurant cannot properly pack a take-out order. I put the ripped up bag into a plastic bag of my own and brought it back to the cafe -- fortunately they did not try to blame me, but there was nothing they could do to help. A poor woman from housekeeping in the hotel had to spend about 40 minutes trying to clean everything up. And I had to explain to reception what had happened and asked them whether or not I would have to pay compensation -- luckily they did not require it, but some of the carpet and furniture were in fact ruined.
