Everything! The location is splendid, staff is wonderful, the rooms are excellent, cleaning top of the world, breakfast and restaurants first class beyond expectation.

The junior suite was well distributed and spacious. The wash room was big and had practical function spaces. They provided more than what we expected for our child. Nice bed, changing station with amenities that are well thought about. Nice staff. Great breakfast and outstanding services

Impeccable service, beautiful hotel and just overall great experience. We enjoyed the breakfast and the setting of it, everything was put beautifully on display and the quality of it was excellent. We had a 2-night mini break in Hamburg and would have loved to stay longer.

Check in, while we understand the room wasn't ready, it was promised that I would be called when the room becomes available. This never happened.

The shower water couldnt get warm had to stay long cause i had to switch from cold to hot to have warm water .Also the breakfast didnt get a variety of it.But all in all the Service was great .

Beautiful hotel, old class, extremely comfortable

This is a gloriously fancy hotel - not trendy or modern at all, but meticulously clean and beautiful. There is luxury everywhere, from the high-end bathroom products to the plush robes, from the chandeliers to the chocolate truffles. We only stopped here for one night during our travels and didn't have time to use the spa, which is a pity!

We were only here very briefly and, honestly, it was all great. I can't really think of anything to put here. I suppose it would be helpful if there was a plug socket or charger next to the bed...

The Best Hotel In Germany I have ever stayed, far better than eg HH Atlantic or HH Reichshof, also definitely much nicer than eg Berlin Adlon. I was for 17th time in HH and first time stayed there. Promised myslef to come back. Definitely I may recommend it as I tend to spend good 1m each year in various hotels across different countries and my stay in HVJ absolutely belonged to the most spledid ones:)

One minor minus => room door key system frankly speaking not fully reliable/ a bit outdated

Staff attentiveness - attention to detail and the high standard maintained throughout- The Grill restaurant produced a delicious meal - I would without hesitation recommend this hotel.

Location is perfect, staff were amazing, housekeeping was spot on.

A little expensive compared to other 5 star hotels, a swimming pool would've been nice. We had an issue with the heater and wanted to turn it off but had to wait for 2 days cause it needed a technicial to do that and there was none during the weekend. I needed to go outside for a smoke from time to time and the room key was huge and heavy to carry but wasn't worth leaving at it at the reception for 5 minutes everytime. Despite that, we had a wonderful time and would go back again.

Such an iconic place to be... beautifully decorated for Christmas, most outstanding cuisine and bar, immeculate rooms and service. Great shower, supercomfy bed. Fantastic staff, on all levels. Happy to come back.

The master room switch... that diabolical invention... if your spouse uses it to turn off the lights in the room before sleeping, (as I couldn't think of any other way than switching each light off individually, and who does that these days?) a trip to the bathroom at night becomes an adventure... and not a good one... Alternatively, one could use "The Devil's Switch" to turn the lights back on, if only it wouldn't engulf the room in one giant super-nova, blinding everybody for next 4 minutes, whilst having to listen to once screaming banshee of a wife uttering profanities and curses in ones direction... Exchange the master switch please... or set it up that the individual lights can still be operated. In the bathroom for instance?

We gave a deposit using password which is ok but they charged more than deposit without asking to us. It is both illegal and untrustable because they did not solve it as they told so. The same problem happened two times same problem respectively First day this happened they say we are sorry, the system does it automatically and we will solve it. But second day it happened again and they said the same stuff again. Also they still did not solve it yet. Please be careful

the location, as we could reach all destinations in Hamburg with U Bahn and Bus. Also the Reception with help, complicated payment arrangements with foreign currency etc. Room always in excellent condition. And your top floor sun deck for afternoon tea and snacks, as well as your food seating arrangement outside along the Binnen Alster.

The hotel was very elegant and classy and the rooms were really clean and tidy. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is really good very well situated and close to restaurants and shopping area

They need to modernize and upgrade their phone and TV. We couldn’t watch anything on TV most channels are in Dutch and we couldn’t log in to our Netflix or Apple TV as the TV is not a smart tv that was a bit disappointing considering the hotel being a high end hotel.

The beds were not that Comfortable obviously you can’t expect an Hotel Bed to be the same Comfortness as in your House but they truly could have been a lil softer!

Hotel location is perfect for exploring city. Property has lots of F&B outlets and staff were great.

Air-conditioning was not great and seemed to be set to turn off in the middle of the night.

Loved the ambiance of the hotel … it felt like an old palace with beautiful decor and large sizes of the rooms and bathrooms … amazing in every way!

Excellent location. Our room has a balcony facing the lake which was lovely. Staff at the restaurants were all very nice and helpful. Food was delicious.

The receptionists and concierges were always seem very busy. Every time I went to the concierge desk, there was nobody there, so I had to talk to the receptionist instead for the same transport booking twice. Also, on the day of check out, at 9am, there was not a single bellman left at the entrance, so no one there to help with our luggages (There were like 10 stairs between the main hall and the entrance). This was not expected at a five star hotel. In the end, a kind managerial staff helped us to carry some of our luggages...
