Could not fault anything location,staff very friendly room spotless staff think of everything from a glass of champagne on arrival and presenting you with a small candle to take away with you

Spacious room, wonderful shower.

Had to change quilt cover because the original was dirty. Replacement quilt cover had holes in. Duvet was old and very lumpy. Coffee machine not working correctly.

The location is perfect to explore the city. The champagne bar is fabulous with lovely views over the city. All the staff at this hotel are wonderful, in particular, the staff at breakfast and lunch were exceptional. The champagne bar does get busy on an evening so best to book a table in advance! They make a lovely cocktail and we always felt relaxed and chilled even with lots of people around. Our room was clean with a complimentary mini bar and snacks that were restocked each day. Brilliant.

The pillows were awful, very lumpy and thin. The mattress was also very thin and uncomfortable. Not much natural light in the room due to our room looking out over the back of a building and a pub. Had to keep the window door closed for privacy.

Friendly staff. High quality decor, fixtures and fittings. Efficient air con/heating, comfy, spacious bed, in-room facilities, especially the powerful shower (overhead one was my fave), the coffee machine and milk frother and the complementary mini bar, topped up daily. Great location for the Christmas markets and the historic city.

Not enough hooks in the room to hang dressing gowns and wet towels etc. and an imperfect poached egg at breakfast (the breakfast was lovely otherwise).

Location was excellent and very welcoming staff. Rooms are exceptionally clean and well designed. Extras like welcoming glass of champagne and courtesy bar fridge in room made it a great experience.

The location is perfect for travelling by trains that right next to train station. Complimentary mini bar in the room is awesome! Room is modern and clean.

The aircon is noisy that has an annoying humming sound.

This hotel was weird in the best way, I really liked it, it’s about 50m from the smaller back entrance to Waverley station on the Royal Mile side, staff were great without exception, Keeley in the bar was especially kind and helpful, they seemed to have the time and the social skills to chat and make conversation, great as a solo woman traveller, the room was tiny but had more than what I needed and expected. Fancy Dyson hair dryer and free snacks and slippers were great. When I’d adjusted my mindset I even enjoyed the bathroom in the hallway set up, it made the area lighter and brighter. Very good location for shopping and eating. It’s one of those hotels with no ground floor presence it’s all upstairs including reception, great views from the bar area. I preferred this to the Malmaison where I usually stay. The only improvement I can think of would be earplugs and flannels. I heard a bit of celebration noise from the street but Scotland qualified for the World Cup that night so it was understandable. The bed was very good and the shower was good.

The bacon was smoked, dry and overcooked but I was at the end of the breakfast service, everything else was so nice I didn’t mind.

Our room was so spacious and comfortable with everything we needed, including a Nespresso and a kettle and even milk in the refrigerator along with other snacks and drinks. We had fluffy robes and slippers and our room was so quiet. Really made our very busy days into restful nights. And the staff was lovely.

Next time I might opt for a room with more natural light!

Every detail has been thought through from the generous size of the closets to the lovely hardwood floors. I was particularly grateful for the sleep mask with warming properties, which helped me combat jet lag, and the variety of (free!) items in the mini bar. The room could be darkened completely, and the temperature was easily and effectively controlled. I selected a room with a bath and separate shower, and each was lovely and served its purpose well. The room was absolutely silent at all times of the day and night, despite facing a relatively high-traffic street. And Waverly Station could not be more conveniently located! Views are outstanding, especially as the Christmas markets open. While my room was on a lower floor (which was fine with me, as my priority was the bathtub), the views are always accessible through the windows on the 7th floor in the bar/dining room. Gary, the concierge, was so kind and helpful -- he made me feel welcomed and right at home from the moment I arrived.

It hardly seems worth mentioning but I appear to be the only person in the world who doesn't understand how to use espresso pods. I'm returning to the hotel in a few days, and I plan to ask for more detail on how to make the gadget work.

Our stay was exceptional. Location was perfectly situated right across from the train station but we never heard the trains. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was absolutely amazing! If you are going to Edinburgh I highly recommend staying at this property.

I lived the room’s attention to detail and the solid materials used to build it. It was comfortable and offered lovely lighting. The mini bar was great with local beverages to try and fresh milk for tea.

The staff were not clear that we needed to go back to the reception to receive our welcome glass of bubbles. When we went to enjoy our complimentary glass of champagne, the maître’d was not very helpful or communicative . We walked in towards the bar, he stopped us abruptly. He and another person were deep in conversation so we didn’t notice that we needed to stop and be greeted before sitting down. I said that we would like to have our introductory glass of bubbles and they took us to a table and gave us the menu. The service was confusing. I had to explain to the waiter that we were after our complimentary glass and he sent us to the reception desk to claim it, with a quick ‘they’re not the full measure.’ I went to reception and there was a kerfuffle because they had run out of glasses. It was just very clunky service that lacked finesse of more experienced hospitality. I said that any glass will do. It doesn’t have to be the right size. In other words the bar manager could have made it a more seamless and charming experience by anticipating our needs and adapting to the situation.

Had a great time here. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Free drinks on arrival and bar fridge in room with snacks. Very comfy bed and great shower. Would highly recommend this wonderful accommodation Thanks team.

Location was great, decor was outstanding. Free mini bar was a bonus. Very comfortable rooms. Well worth the stay.

Lovely hotel in a very convenient location, just across the road from Waverley station. Very clean, comfy modern room and, completely complimentary minibar which is unheard of. Also Nespresso coffee maker and kettle. Really friendly and helpful staff, you also get offered a glass of champagne at check-in. Would definitely stay here again :)

Great location across the road from train station, 5 mins walk from Royal Mile. Spotless, great room with soundproof windows, comfy bed. Plenty of choice for breakfast & amazing. Staff exceptional, very knowledgeable of the area.
