Food was excellent. Breakfast particularly so - a marvellous spread! Very peaceful & relaxing atmosphere.

Steps. Could be quite dangerous for anyone with mobility problems. Small point - but could be made easier to find Reception on arrival.

Unique decor, excellent service, fine cuisine

Exceeded my expectations. It was a perfect stay. The hotel is surrounded by olive grows, lemon trees and flowers with a beautiful sea view. The location was so serene and our room was a dream. We didn't have dinner there but the food at breakfast was delicious, big focus on local and they even made me vegan Cretan pies to accommodate dairy free (lots of dairy free milks and yogurt available too!). The hotel had wonderful recommendations on things to do, try the hike back from the monastery. Expansive sea and mountain views and lots of mountain goats, a great wander. Absolutely can't wait to return.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

This property is absolutely stunning. The grounds are gorgeous, the pool is fabulous. Every angle is more beautiful than the next. The staff were lovely, especially Irina and Andrew and breakfast was absolutely incredible. And there was a gym which was a nice perk.

The restaurant, while delicious, was a bit on the expensive side

breakfast was amazing - so much choice and freshly made and prepared. really the best breakfast buffet we've ever had, including some local dishes. yummy. hotel grounds stunning and stylish. receptionist super friendly and helpful. room lovely with own front door and patio area, with far reaching views.

evening restaurant menu could change daily for hotel guests? as there is nowhere else to eat nearby.

The layout of the gardens and outdoor spaces is superb. The staff are wonderful, friendly, kind and accommodating. The food is also excellent.

There is no hotel bar so it is slightly sad not to be able to share one’s appreciation of the hotel with fellow guests. Poor Wi-Fi in the room. No dressing table with mirror for drying hair and applying make-up.

We liked everything about this little heaven on earth. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Such a beautiful place Excellent breakfast, lunch and dinners. Extremely friendly staff We plan to return as soon as we can!! Thanks again Kapsaliana team!!

Nice village from an old olive factory, well renovated,good cuisine for dinner and breakfast ,3 degrees less than at rethymnon due to the elevation ,peaceful atmosphere

The food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) options were spectacular. The quality of food and drink were overall outstanding. Staff were very nice as well.

The staff are not particularly proactive. When we wanted to book a massage or yoga class, they asked us to find the person ourselves or wait until they were done to book it through them directly. When we asked about where to go to dinners, or book a boat day trip, they seemed almost a little inconvenienced. And once the water bottles ran out of our room, nothing was ever topped up. It just felt like they were very much reactive and just trying to do the bare minimum.

We had an amazing time at the hotel. It is soooo beautiful, so nice, all the details are well chosen and timeless. Room is amazing, food is delicious, staff is cool, this place is a dream.

Lovely grounds, beautifully restored historic village, great staff and good food!

Very beautiful property, renovated to reignite the soul of the village that once was. Great restaurant - very good breakfast, but also lunch and dinner were consistently good Peaceful vibes Great staff - in particular, Dimitra at reception (fantastic restaurant recommendations), Stelios (at dinner) and Irini (At breakfast) Cooking class led by Adonis and Giorgios was great, as was the olive oil tasting.

A few small points re sustainability - towels were provided daily in plastic bags (non reusable), toiletries were in small disposable bottles rather than refillable ones, water in the rooms was in plastic bottles.

The hotel is so full of charm and character. The renovations have been carried out beautifully. We stayed in one of the original houses and it was simply wonderful.
