Daios Cove Luxury Resort & Villas, Crete

not enough activities for teenagers.

Beautiful resort with lovely beach and pool areas. Deluxe sea view room was very spacious with lots of storage and good sized balcony. Everything was spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Furnicular made getting around the resort easier. Great selection at the buffet with allergens clearly listed.

Only two downsides:
1. Would have benefitted from more staff both at the beach bar area and at the pool bar area. Often would be waiting quite a while for service/could be difficult to get the servers attention as they were so busy.
2. Gluten free options in the a la carte restaurants (and lunch menus at pool/beach) were limited - more options would be appreciated and indication on the menu for what could be adapted to be gluten free would also be helpful. However all staff were helpful re allergens and aware of coeliac disease and the need to avoid traces/cross contamination.

The hotel was exceptional from the very friendly, courtesy, caring and thoughtful staff to the breathtaking views, beautiful spacious and glorious room (mine had an infinity pool on the balcony). Breakfast buffet and a la carte restaurants were fantastic too! They went to the extra lengths to make my birthday really special. I'll be back!

Only that there are no USB port in the bedroom.

High standard overall, great location, nice and clean area including villas, intimate atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff in the entire property & restaurants/ bars, overall good food experience (broad variety for breakfast, many options for lunch) but really worth exploring restaurants in Elunda, stunning views from sea view villas, very well equipped gym & heavenly spa area. Some wather sports options available at the beach. Definitely a place to come back :)

The only point: tight space at the beach, sun beds very close so in high season can be difficult to find a free spot if you don’t come in the morning. Similar with pool area.

Wonderful stay at Daios Cove. Beautiful resort, excellent staff in all facilities, and the food and restaurant quality was a real highlight for us. We are already looking at booking again, can't wait to go back!

Beautiful location, great staff, delicious food, private beach, very quiet room. The spa services were fabulous and yoga class overlooking the sea was incredible.

Water never got warm or hot in shower. Just be aware it is a lot of children

The property is modern and all the facilities worked well. Our room was very comfortable. In Pangea Restaurant the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The fresh food there was generally very good but some of the hot buffet meals were overcooked and meats dried and toughened. However it was usually possible to find something reasonable to eat. We generally took lunch at Ocean and had great service and enjoyable meals.

The site is a little isolated and might suit those who have hired cars best. There is limited space around the Pool and on the Beach so one ends up sunbathing in very close proximity with others and it was not always possible to find a lounger in the sun.

Large, comfortable high-spec rooms/suites (many with individual pools)

Residents’ Club all-inclusive program is top-notch (with high quality food and drinks all included in the price)

Excellent pool, beach and spa facilities

Getting around the property (i.e. to and from your room to the restaurants/beach/pool/spa) is not very efficient and requires either a buggy (which needs to be ordered in advance) or 1 or 2 slow funicular rides. There should be more buggies made available on very short notice, especially during busy periods.

Everything ! The location, structure , super friendly stuff, super thanks to Experience Manager Giorgi. The food is delicious , so far best spot in Greece I have been To !

Food was good overall but could be better

Everything was great about Daios Cove! Its nature &rooms& foods, sea all was great. And the service of the staff was excellent! Especially the ones in the restaurant( we had breakfast & dinner as halfboard) was super friendly, nice, and keep you feel like you’re a guest in their home. Thanks!

Drinks and food extremely expensive for the quality.
Wine and cocktails were mediocre but very expensive.
Food was average and again expensive.

It was our honeymoon, the staff greeted us perfectly. They were so nice, we asked for a room close to the pool and we got it and also we got a bubbly wine and fruits upon arrival.
The room was amazing and the view breathtaking.

The whole time of our vacation, it was very windy which made seating by the pool annoying and seating in the beach almost impossible.. Now of corse the hotel is not responsible for the weather but i think the hotel is built in a narrow area between 2 mountains which makes even small air breeze into an annoying wind.
The prices of cocktails in the pool area match the prices of cocktails in center Manhattan rather then reasonable prices for Crete

Everything - the location, food, staff, facilities and accommodation - all excellent

Couldn’t open the wardrobe door in the second bedroom as a bedside cabinet blocked it. It was a small thing but meant the wardrobe couldn’t be accessed.

Everything, facilities, staff… everything! It’s an experience you’ll never forget!

The place is beautiful. specially the private villas. The beach is nice and clean and it is great that you can order food and drinks to the beach bed. The restaurants are very nice. The staff and the service was also very good.

We were few days in the Villa and few days in a normal room. although quite expensive, the resort is great if you take one of the all inclusive options (the villa for example). The service is great and you can eat in one of the restaurants on every meal.
If you take the normal rooms, the food in the hotel's main restaurant is not good and for every extra you pay a lot. The rooms are good in both options, but if you take the normal room, I would suggest to eat outside the resort.

There are complaints about the breakfast. For such a hotel, the breakfast was, let's say, not up to the standard.

Service was excellent. Facilities and views incredible. The resort is an amazing feat of engineering.

Did not expect the enormous amount of children in mid October. Beach level should have had bathroom facilities.

The beach would benefit from the split between the adults only and families zone.

As part of our honeymoon trip, we intended to know Crete and chose Daios Cove for our stay. But the resort is so good that we didn’t got out of it. The room is spacious, modern and cosi. The pool and beach area and the views are wonderful. The restaurants are excellent, specially the Ocean, where we brightly closed our last night. Do recommend. Finally, the staff is impeccable.

Loved the entire set up, decor, facilities, staff. Was a beautiful, scenic place.
Panos in charge of all restaurants who did the cookery class was amazing as were all the buggy drivers and reception staff and restaurant staff too. very clean and spa and gym were incredible

Tissues inc toilet paper were rough. Maybe because recycled but scratchy to use

Modern, well equipped rooms with great view and impeccably maintained. Staff were attentive and friendly. The gym was fantastic.

It felt very busy, especially at breakfast, dinner and on the beach. On one day of our stay the beach was very dirty but the staff did work to clean it. The kids club was fine for our 5 year old but our boys aged 10 and 8 would have liked a playground and a table football table.
