Hotel Alexandra, Copenhagen

Location excellent We stayed in room 457….twin room at the front of hotel The room was very nice,the only issue was that there was a slight smell coming from the drain in the bathroom floor. Our check in experience was superb We were advised that there was work going on at the back of the hotel and that other customers had complained of noise from the building starting at 7am each morning We were offered a room at the front and everything was superb I did not get the receptionist name at check in but she was so helpful and friendly to us .

Musty smell at times in bathroom

The location was excellent, the staff were very kind and super helpful.

The room was a bit too warm and there was no way to turn down the heat because it was coming off the pipes going through the room.

The breakfast was delicious but it was limited to 1 dish for the price.

I asked for a room with a view. My view was construction and there was a hammering noise that started at 7am. And there was either a very short hair or pubic hair on one of the pillows.

I loved the bike outside, the complimentary wine inside (happy hour) and the restaurant next-door. Those little extras made this hotel stand out. Tak.

I have only kind words for this gem 5mins walk from the central station.

I liked the mid-century style, the location, the wine hour:), and the breakfasts next door (not included but excellent).

I was placed in a sub-par attic room my first night when other twin rooms were available (I asked to be moved the next day as I arrived too late to deal with it the first night).

Great staff, excellent location.

The 50s decor mixed with Scandinavian style. The room was just what was needed with all the bedding and seating you could need. Even being on the main road you could still barely hear the traffic. The little wine hour in the lobby was a real treat.

The only thing was the shower head which I made mention of to the staff.

The room was compact and cosy, like the pictures. The radiator gave good heat and unusually the windows did open. Ideal for solo person, comfortable bed, coffee machine and electric kettle. Check in was quite quick, having to put some details in to an iPad. Check out was literally just drop the key off. Staff really friendly and helpful. Metro station just across road and Netto 3 mins walk.

The lights in the room are a bit odd, you have to have the main lights on to enable the bathroom light to work. The extractor fan did not turn off in the bathroom but did not hear it, had to keep that door closed so that the heat in the room wasn't sucked out. I was specifically told at reception that if I wanted room cleaned / freshened up to put the sign on the door. First day it wasn't done. second day they did everything bar replenish the coffee which is what I wanted - spoke to reception who gave me more. Not big deals really. The thing that will possibly bother most people if something is going to is that you can hear low level bass of music into early hours but it's not clear where this is coming from, as don't hear it when stepping outside, This might bother people trying to sleep although it didn't bother me, I was in a main road facing room so perhaps a rear facing room may not have this issue. I've just had an email AFTER this review was posted trying to charge me 1000 DK for smoking in the room that 'the housekeeping had noted' - needless to say there was NOT smoking in the room.

A real design hotel with all furniture and equipment in genuine Danish design from 50's and 60's. Cool atmosphere. Complimentary drink in the bar in the afternoon. Helpful, cheerful personnel. Very good location in central Copenhagen.

Room was really cramped with bathroon 'in the room'. Expensive breakfast though good and generous. I also had to wait half an hour for breakfast.

room was alot smaller than how the pictures make it seem. wifi is not reliable, could not maintain a single, nor is the wifi password provided in the room. rooms are could use better lighting.

Rooms are great but getting a little bit tired

Location was great, a short walk to Radhuspladsen and the main shopping street. The bed was surprisingly very comfortable. We had superior room and it was a good size for two people.

Occasional traffic noise from the room as the hotel is on the main road. The walls between the room are quite thin - one can hear conversation from another room. The hotel still uses traditional physical key; hence a request to drop off keys for potential loss of key. The front desk staff at check-out was not attentive at all.

No fridge and microwave in the room. Internet was poor.

Loved the ambience and the friendliness of the staff. The hotel has a touch of old world charm.

The style is nice, the breakfast is good

Wi-Fi is very slow, limited connection. The bathroom is really old fashioned and small. Sink is still dirty.

Unfortunarely the room that was initially assigned to me had a running toilet. The receptionist was really helpful and instantly gave me a new and bigger room. The exterior and interior are quite old fashioned which I liked. The bed was comfy and the bath room had everything I needed. Luggage storage is free of charge unlike in other hotels. Neutral: The breakfast is really good. But it needs to be noted that it's not your average hotel breakfast as it's not a buffet. Instead you get to select one of several meal options at the cafe right next door.

The location is in fact really good as it's basically in the city center. However, the bell tower is not too far away either and rings until late at night which can still he heard if your room faces the street. While the room is generally quite well isolated, I'd still suggest to bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. One other downside, the room did not have any USP ports.

The door to our room wouldn’t open from the inside. They quickly changed our room but a bit surprised that the issue wasn’t found earlier

The location was fantastic. Very easy to reach from the airport by public transportation, especially by metro (stop 3 min from the hotel). Central and super close to Tivoli, safe area. The hotel has beautiful interior design and the staff was very nice. I would stay again and recommend to others.

It’s in the city center , close to central station and tivoli. The rooms are designed with very nice furniture. It had a cozy feeling

We arrived early and we left our luggage at a very smelly room, really damp area. Our friends stayed in a standard single room, their bed and room was a bit small. A tall person would not fit in the bed . My superior single room was nice and cozy

The complimentary glass of wine between 5 and 6 was a nice touch

The only negative is there was building working going on outside of our room it was quite noisy quite early in the morning. However there was ear plugs provided. Also the room got very hot.

Staff were exceptionally friendly. Rooms are well decorated and bed is very comfortable. Was on the cold side, but it was December and this subsided after the first day. Is currently building work going on, although this was at reasonable times and did not disrupt us. There is a secure room to store luggage before/after stay and the free wine hour was a lovely touch. The location is excellent, right next to metro and 5min walk from train station. Journey to the airport was 20mins door to door. Would definitely stay again. Let us check in early too

It was a bit cold initially, but once reported to staff things did improve and we were offered a supplementary heater. The noise from the renovations wasn't ideal, but there is nothing I could expect the hotel to have done about it

Hotel Alexandra is located in a great location. Just a short walk to Tivoli. Evening complimentary glass of wine in a relaxed area by reception each evening was a very nice touch. The hotel was also nice and quiet.

Design of the room. The view and the cleanliness. The location is super convenient to walk in the old center or go somewhere by train/metro.

I understand this is an old building, but the electric supplies looked just not safe to use. The only place to use the kettle was on the floor.

This is a fine hotel in a great location. The twin beds were surprisingly comfortable. And a very unique design (from US). They used this funny box spring supportive mattress with a thinner mattress on top. The water pressure and heat in the shower were top notch and there were some closets to put our stuff. The staff were friendly for the most part and the free wine hour was a nice touch. I had breakfast there twice and had some delicious food. Appreciated the working elevator. Great windows in the room overlooking other apartments.

This was not what I expect of a four star hotel. The facilities were older and there was no working HVAC unit in the room. We had a teeny little radiator that didn't even heat up that much. Thankfully, we weren't too cold, but if you like a room to be warmer than 65f degrees, then you might want to stay somewhere else. There was considerable construction going on in the courtyard outside our windows but thankfully, they didn't start until after 7am, or 9am most days.

Very pleasant place with exceptional design in the center of Copenhagen. The breakfast is really recommended.

Location was good. Near trainstation, Tivoli and city center. At room was possibility to iron and make coffee/tea.

I was first two nights in this hotel another room because my own planning changes. That room was very good. In this room wifi didn't work well. In my opinion bathroom was not nice. The upper path of the wall was glass. I was there alone but the room was for two person. You can see if the another is taking shower or sitting on the toilet seat. Also if you don't cower window, have lights on and sitting on the toilet seat, people from another house can see you 😂

Very cozy room for one person. Bathroom was big and level for make up was large. Room was quiet. Location was also good. Near trainstation, Tivoli and city center. At room was possibility to iron.

Good location and stylish hotel

Curtains didnt block out any light and limited sound proofing to the busy roads/ area outside. Also our wifi did not work the entire time were there - even after discussing with the staff multiple times

Bed was comfortable and the room as well as bathroom was a good size. GREAT location!

The barroom was not the cleanest. Had hair on the floor in the corners.
