Zara Continental Hotel, Budapest

The breakfast was good and varied. Good service, excellent location.

.they charged me for using the minibar after I left the hotel, even though I didn't use anything. One drink was open and I didn't drink it. I contacted the hotel through Booking.com and they didn't want to refund my money. It's a shame they don't trust the customer. It really disappointed me.

The Hotel is very central and clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms and beds were also comfy and the room is spacious.

The only thing that could have been better is the breakfast. To be honest it was a bit of a disappointment. I was expecting more variety other than ham and meat. The boiled eggs were also not cooked at all. They were fluid and inedible.

The check-in process was a bit challenging, as the lobby staff member didn’t speak fluent English, didn’t understand everything I said, and wasn’t very patient. He eventually started acting quite unfriendly. This was the only negative experience we had at this hotel. the pools are very very small but do the work :) in addition - its was so hot in budapest and the air-condition in all our 4 rooms was super weak :(

The hotel was welcoming and the interior is beautiful. The location was excellent - near some great bars and restaurants and a short walk to the river. The highlight was the fitness suite and the pools on the roof.

Pools were small, felt crowded with 4 people in them.

It's an elegant place, the staff is very professional. I loved the roof terrace with the swimming pool and a place you can tan. The room was quiet and the bed was really comfy and it's a tiny thing but I liked the little shoe sponge they give out, was a nice touch.

Lovely pretty building with lots of public areas to sit in. Staff were great. Breakfast was excellent. Having a pool and spa was a bonus.

Air con was noisy and had difficulty doing the job.

The aircondition in our room was extremely noisy! The breakfast room was very crowded although we tried to show up at different hours.

I liked the room (standard with double beds) it was small but nice. It was clean and simple. The roof top area and pool were really small but we always got a lounge chair so not a problem.

I didn't like that for a couple of days the griddle was broken so no eggs or omlets. Also if you came during the busy time alot of things were out not just a couple. And some of the staff were not very nice. Had some mornings there were no plates and had to ask and the attitude was bad. Also personally I would have like to have some veggies like cucumbers and tomatoes.

Fantastic location. Welcoming staff and an amazing modern facility to allow you to enjoy your staying in Budapest. I was very impressed with the beautiful view of the city from the roof.

I loved that the staff was really friendly and they made sure we still have the reservation jn order even our flight was cancelled and we were 1 day late. the rooms were clear and the breakfast was super nice, the location is close to everything , walking distance from many atractions.

It was in a central location but very quiet. There were so many breakfast options. The outdoor pool was busy but so quiet and relaxing. We were always able to get a chair. The WiFi worked well.

The room was a bit small

There was nothing I would say I could complain about the hotel everything was very good in all aspects. The staff in all areas were exceptional the room more than comfortable the breakfast delightful we had a relaxing break.

Honestly there is nothing I could say I did not like about the property all our expectations were fulfilled.

The towels in the room and by the pool were small and well used. The bed was very soft. The room was cleaned daily but coffee etc wasn't always replaced.

Beautiful building and room, though the room was not very big (but absolutely comfortable). Nice rooftop swimming pool. Pretty close to the metro – only one stop away from Keleti train station.

A bit crowded at breakfast, but ok – depends on time, I guess. Somewhat more vegetables for breakfast would be good (there was some, but some empty, and not very much). Though it is meant as an extra service, I would actually prefer not to have a piccolo insisting on bringing the luggage to the room. I guess it is because of my culture (Scandinavian) this feels a bit awkward. He was very nice to talk to while going to the room, though.

The location is very central and the building was beautiful, although not as grandiose as in the photographs. The staff could have been nicer but they were helpful enough. The elevators only work by touching your keycard to the sensor. That's a bit of a nuisance. My room was quite small but clean, amd the bed was comfortable. The view was disappointing. I managed to re-set the air conditioning as it was too loud and the room was way too cold for me. The rooftop pool was amazing, however I could only spend a very short time there as it only opens at 9 and I needed to leave soon after. I wish i could have stayed there for longer. The breakfast was nice. The building is a historical one and guests can read about it in the lobby. The beautiful copper/ brass entrance is one of a kind. The interior is beautiful.

At breakfast people had to wait for tables and staff seemed a bit too slow to clean up. They made the guests wait around holding their plates.

excellent location, room was gorgeous. Breakfast was fantastic - massive selection at the buffet. The pool on the roof was the reason I booked this hotel for my city break and it was perfect.

The location is central to all the touristy places.Most places could be gone to on foot. Its a well maintained building. I was surprised the hotel is 15 years old. The room was spacious, good value for money.There were mirrors everywhere.

The breakfast was the same all the days we were there, found that boring The gym opens at 9am so it meant you couldn't hit the gym early.Also the gym could do with newer equipments

The Continental is right in the heart of Pest and walking distance to most of the main sights to see. We felt very comfortable walking to and from the hotel. The breakfast service was exceptional, especially considering the volume of people it served. My wife and I enjoyed the variety and the quality of the food, as well as the pretty little outside area where we ate each day. The pool/sauna area was really nice but far too small to accommodate the number of guests the hotel serves. They need a much bigger rooftop pool and more places to sunbathe, but if you used the facilities outside of the peak hours, it was very relaxing. The staff at the spa were excellent and they were extremely personable and made my wife happy. The room was good, not great, and the bed was very comfortable once you removed the thick winter blanket they still used in the middle of the July heat and requested sheets from reception. The bathroom in the room was very small but functional. Nothing special here, nothing to really complain about either.

The staff was hit and miss. The spa staff and the restaurant catering were exceptional, I'd go so far as to say both were fantastic. We truly enjoyed both experiences and these hardworking and friendly staff members really sold the whole experience to us. The front desk was at best middle of the road, with a couple exceptions. They rarely acknowledged you as you walked in and out of the lobby which felt odd to us, but they certainly weren't rude. They just seemed uninterested. The bathroom in the room was so small that you had to open the door, close it, open the shower door, close it with only the smallest of space to walk. The shower sprayed water all over the floor and the door stop in the already small area was positioned directly where you enter and exit the shower. Very uncomfortable design, but it is what it is. We don't like to complain and we made it work. You asked what I didn't like, though 😜

Great spa hotel! I really enjoyed the wellness facilities: gym, indoor pool, outdoor pool, sauna. The staff are professional and quick to help with anything. My room was clean and comfortable, the a/c was good but loud (I had earplugs so wasn't a problem). The cleaning staff every morning were so good, they are a credit to the hotel! Breakfast was great, lots of options, even an omelette bar! Fantastic location, close to ruin bar district and public transport. Overall I loved my stay and I will be back!

Not much! I did notice the breakfast on Sunday wasn't up to their usual standard, maybe they ran out of some fresh ingredients. Make sure to bring your own hairdryer, the one in the room is absolutely awful. I got so desperate I went to a nearby hairdressers to get a blow-dry!

Loved the room, pool was fantastic, swam every day. Cafe and bar lovely, staff couldn't have been nicer. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back

The meal in the restaurant ARAZ was poor value for money, small portions and expensive for what it was.

everything from the room, location, ease of access to the metro and variety of restaurants within the area. breakfast was great, with a lot of variety, even with the continental breakfast for room service. the bar was also incredible.

the only thing i did not like was the bathroom. i found the shower was very small (not a lot of room to move around).

It would be great if, when booking a parking spot, guests received a map or directions on how to reach the parking area. This would greatly enhance the experience, as the underground parking allows direct access to the hotel lobby - which is very convenient! Unfortunately, I had some trouble with this: parking near the hotel is quite difficult, and I had to go to the reception to find out how to properly access the garage.
