The Peninsula Hotel, Beijing

the deposit has still not been refunded to my bank account (it has been a month and a half since checking out of the hotel)

Only the room and its digital systems in the room and nothing more. They were flex for offering upgrade and late checkout.

We booked this hotel because of the rooftop lounge, when we arrived they told us it was closed. There is no lobby lounge so you don't feel like you are in a hotel but rather a mall with tables. The breakfast is limited and poor quality. we ordered a taxi to the airport and then cancelled it and the hotel insisted on paying, they suggested we go to the Forbidden City on Monday and it was closed. The Chinese restaurant tastes bad.

I am always in traveling First country and first hotel - police arrive to room. Checking passports, rooms and luggages It is very bad for hotel. I didnt stay and checked out.

Every think was good

Located in centre of Beijing, you will have Western food available which for me was perfect as i was missing my native food. The staff is super friendly and nice, the hotel super fancy and accessible. Definitely recommend!

We loved everything! From the second we alighted from our vehicle at the hotel, our experience at the Peninsula has been nothing short of FANTASTIC. As soon as we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted by a bevy of staff who were already waiting to receive us. They handled our luggage efficiently and ushered us warmly up to our room to complete the check-in procedures. I booked two rooms for me and my family. The rooms were spacious, beautifully appointed and exceptionally clean. Staff was always eager and happy to assist with any questions we had. I had to purchase a few essential items for my 6 month old baby while we were staying in Beijing and the concierge team went above and beyond by purchasing the items for me on their mobile phone via an app (similar to Ubereats or Instacart) and personally delivering the purchased items to my room when they arrived. I am blown away by the Peninsula and the exceptional service and stay we received. Well done to the entire team!

Still difficult to communicate efficiently in english sometimes Visits and cars organised by the hotels were overpriced and not great. The outside look of the hotel is quite ugly

Location - the best: walking distance from everything that is in center (shops, walking zone, sights). Rooms - we got a free upgrade - much appreciated - we had wonderful 2 bedroom room with cinema hall and wardrobe zone. Service - is perfect. Gym - very nice and big by city hotel standards (pool i did not try).

Breakfast zone: 1) right in the entrance hall 2) food is placed at different spots across whole area - quite unconvenient to go with a plate here and there.

Everything was great. Perfect and very friendly service. Nice, quiet and spacious rooms with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Ticketservice available. Breakfast with a lot of choices for every taste. Perfect location for sightseeing and shopping. Subway very close. Transferservice if needed. Rooftop bar with interesting cocktails. Large indoor pool for relaxing. It was for us the perfect place for some intense sightseeing days. Beijing had far more to offer than we thought before.Thank you for a very nice time! PS one recommandation. Book your tickets some days, weeks before you arrive if you have special interests.

There is no bar, rooftop bar only available in summer. Also breakfast is served in the lobby lounge, giving it zero atmosphere. I have also had better breakfast buffets at many other hotels. However, the pancake from the a la carts menu was the best I had in china.

I stayed at the Peninsula first about 30 years ago & loved the facilities. The Peninsula provided all necessary supplies in the room, from jogging map, full stationary, tea pot with warmer basket, etc. The renovation was extremely well done, attention to details in all aspects was not spared. Clear labels on all the equipments inside drawers. Full stationaries included high lighter, even nail setter was provided. Two types of bathrobes, functional sitting room, lots of panels for lightings for people with different living habits, user friendly smart boards for easy communication. The staffs are attentive and easy to communicate. We were able to swab for a full in room dining breakfast (before regular available time) for the breakfast buffet since we had an early morning flight. The staffs at breakfast and check in counter were both very friendly and clear with instructions. I was most pleasantly surprised how they preserved the old world charm & thoughtfulness.

Breakfast choices may not as much as some other hotels provided however, the selections are carefully considered and very good. I love the breakfast provided. I've been upgraded to a two-level room which is wonderful. The room is big and well designed and comfortable.

This is the best hotel that I have stayed ever. They prepared everything before I arrive. Especially Steve at front desk welcomed me and kindly assisted my family until we get into the room.

The breakfast is really bad. Been staying at Bangkok Peninsula before, can’t compare at all. Today is 1.1, the breakfast location changed to B1, we found that the buffet options were limited , not many choices . For Ala carte menu, my mum is vegetarian, there is no vegetarian option at all and when we ask whether they can customise a bit the staff told us unable to do it and ask us eat the buffet dishes. However, very limited choices for buffet menu. When we sit down, we are offered tea/ coffee , I have to chase for 3 times and wait for I guess more than 20 minutes for the tea. The service level is bad can’t compare with the service level in Bangkok. Overall , disappointed breakfast. Lack of human touch compared to Bangkok Peninsula.

Recent renovation has produced an exemplary finished property with the most modern, luxurious and well appointed rooms and definitely the finest hotel rooms in Beijing! staff always friendly and helpful and eager to assist

The lobby got crowded with selfie takers each evening owing to Chanel expo and it was an inconvenience but the staff went out of their way to assist.

I didn’t care for the feature on curtains, lights control system. The power outlets inside the end table by the bed are badly designed. Once you plug-in, then you can’t close the drawers.

A wonderful week in Beijing thanks to Peninsula. Everything was perfect. The staff was wonderful to help us out with our twin toddlers and went out of their way every time. Location is super, close to lots of attractions and many good restaurants around. Will come here again for sure next time we're in Beijing.

This is the best hotels we've ever stayed! The staff is very attentive and detail-oriented. One day we came back to our room with extreme heat exhaustion and I asked for cold towels, the staff made sure that we had extra water and cold towels every single day for the rest of our stay. The room is spacious, and the breakfast has a great selection (and quality food). We also loved the rooftop bar! It is a nice place to have a nightcap at the end of a busy day.

Breakfast can be better located at the restaurant downstairs like a few years back. Your French restaurant is excellent. Services very good and inexpensive.

Quality and genuine willingness to help of staff at all levels and very central location close to most attractions. Starting with Fergus at concierge who arranged all of our train tickets for the duration of our stay not only in Beijing but for all of our stay in China and rushed to get them ready for our trip the next day. Viski and Sunny at breakfast also need mentioning in addition to all the rest whom we did not catch their names during breakfast. And last but not least, Mr. Alan who is the night manager smoothing out any possibilities of things that might go wrong on the morning we left Beijing, sending one of his colleagues with us to the trainstation just to make sure all went well (colleague’s name also Alan who was also most helpful). All in all best service received ever and we travel quite a lot. Thank you Beijing staff, for top class service and making our China trip most memorable.

The best service I have ever received. The staff is very very polite, attentive and always looking for ways to personalize the experience! I would love to highlight a reception staff member Polina, who provided the most detailed explanations, helped with finding our way around which can be very tricky if you are not fluent in Chinese and managed to make this experience a firm 10/10 for us!

The rooms were clean and the breakfast was fantastic. I would also like to thank Jane for the warm welcome and the help she gave us and which allowed us to fully enjoy our stay in Beijing.
