The PuXuan Hotel and Spa, part of the same Urban Resort Concepts group that introduced us to the exceptional PuLi in Shanghai, is a significant enhancement to the city’s hospitality industry.
The edifice, a creation of the Beijing branch of German architect Ole Scheeren, is a stern and respectable structure that remains thoroughly modern – a commanding image for the future’s business hotel.
The interior of the lobby and communal areas are more welcoming, abundant with intricate details and earthy tones, along with displays of various Chinese art and craft traditions. Meanwhile, the rooms and suites veer towards a gentler aesthetic – sharp visuals are balanced with soft textures and superior luxuries.
Numerous chambers provide a view of the nearby Forbidden City, with Tiananmen Square just a brisk fifteen-minute stroll away. You’re also in close proximity to the Wangfujing retail area.
