Sir Albert Hotel, Amsterdam

Clean rooms, great location, decent service. Amazing products in the room: shampoo, conditioner and so on that felt luxurious.

Not great value for money, pretty uncomfortable small dark room at ground level with a blocked window so you could not see out. Felt a bit claustrophobic.

Stylish rooms that were relatively spacious for an European hotel. Friendly staff, super clean, quiet rooms.

If I were to nitpick bigger bath towels would be nice but other than that no complaints at all!

Staying on first floor in a room above the Japanese restaurant below on a Friday and Saturday night I hadn’t expected loud music until 2am each night- it was difficult to sleep.

This is a good hotel with friendly staff, very well situated in an area (de Pijp) with lots of restaurants and cafés, and not very far from the main museums (within walking distance). Metro is not far away, so everything is well within reach also via public transport.

It is however expensive (as Amsterdam generally is where accommodation is concerned). I had also expected more design elements for a hotel that describes itself as such. The bathroom was also not separate from the bedroom, which is not always pleasant for the person wishing to sleep longer.

Room comfy, shower brilliant, staff friendly

Very dark corridors, which needed a good clean, bedside tables on both sides of bed. Rooms not hugely big. Not sure I liked the bathroom sink inside the bedroom itself.

Great location. The room was very comfortable and quite large for Amsterdam standards. Lovely breakfast with buffet and a la carte options.

The hotel is a bit run down compared to our last visit in 2016: some of the spotlights in the room where missing, remote control for lights wasn't working anymore. There was no proper bathroom in the room but two cubicles for shower and WC. And this is fine, but lights for both shower and WC were very very tricky to turn on or maybe just not working properly, and it's a big problem as there's no other source of light in the cubicles and keeping the shower door open would just flood the entire room. Buffet was great on the first day, quite disappointing on the second one: a lot of items missing and never replaced, salmon gone, donuts gone, even empty plates were gone for nearly 10 minutes. Very much below the standard of the hotel.

Location was good for us, room was nice and comfy.

The main drawback was lack of cupboard. We stayed for a week and lived out of a suitcase which was very uncomfortable!!!!!! No drawers, no space to put clothes besides few hagers. We stayed at room 322 which has connecting room. You could hear everything from room 324 which was weird and uncomfortable as well.

Did not eat the breakfast at hotel as there were many charming places nearby. The neighbourhood has lots of bars and cafes with the museums in easy walking distance and a subway nearby.

The bathroom is not at all private, which was fine for me but could be embarrassing for people not comfortable with that. Small red light district around the corner. Again, this is not an issue and it is easy to avoid.

The bed was comfortabel and I had a good rest.

The room was cold, we used the heater which was in the closet. The room was too dark.

Abit disappointed that we didn’t get shown where the gym was / they didn’t really explain that Izakaya was part of the hotel. We also ordered something to be put in our rooms for our birthday and it wasn’t there.

I think we are just not fans of modern room design the setup of the room was rather inconvenient especially the shower and the sink. Better use could have been made of the space.

We had an excellent stay at Sir Albert Hotel. Rooms were very clean with comfy beds. The breakfast was payed separately but was exceptionally good. The Buffet was complete with a selection of fresh juices. To top it all, a small menu was presented with a choice of beautifully cooked eggs and coffee/ tea. The staff at the restaurant was very pleasant and professional and reminded us the unique hospitality we used to find in SE Asia.

Unfortunately the valet service for parking was complete and unavailable during our stay. We parked in the public underground parking which is only 70 meters away from the hotel though. The daily rate for the parking was 52€, but was very clean, large and secure.

The bed was very comfortable, the room very clean. We were very well located to access all of Amsterdam by hotel bikes, even though we had to brush of the ice from the seats and I needed to go back to get socks for my hands as I didn’t bring gloves

Great location. Staff wonderfull and helpful. Clean, smart, updated look and great feeling. Great restaurant Great size room. Fantastic bed and pillows. Great shower.

Room was luke warm despite putting heating on maximum. 50% TV channels no signal. Smart TV didn't work, despite finding paring signal to mirror onto TV. Light fixture over bed (head) was adrift at an angle and looked like it would fall off at any time. Picture frames not fitted correctly onto wall, very low and balancing on wall fixture. Room ID card stopped working on second day.

At first we were allocated a dark room without a city view where the heating wasn’t working. The staff moved us to a better room which greatly enhanced our stay.

Location is perfect, it’s basically at the heart of De Pijp - so many restos, bars, coffee place. Less than 5 mins walk to the Metro, and 15mins walk to Museumplein. Design and aesthetic is very chic. Room is quite sizeable for Amsterdam standard. Bed is very comfortable

All good. If anything I guess, it was quite pricey. Not saying that value for money is bad, but i might reckon i could find slightly better offering in terms of value for money around the area.
