The chill area, the comfort of the bed, le location

Cold water in the shower, door of the dorm very noisy, staff could have been more friendly, all the extras that you need to pay if you want to store your bag, Check in earlier etc…

Just the box room was not for me without windows

Good location close to the center and the Centraal Station. The prive room with 1 double bed was good enough for a night to stay. I saw 1 person from the stuff, the check in and check out had to be done through a touch screen monitor. Clean room and it has been quiet.

The water shower had no pressure and you had to keep pushing the button to stay open. The soap and shower gel smelled really bad for my taste, maybe it's a good idea to bring your own. Didnt see any stuff around except the really morning hours.

Clink Mama provides excellent value for money. It is very well located, and staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The place is clean and well maintained.

The bedrooms (twin bed) was like a celler, without any window or ventilation.

Everything was good, except room mate who snores and wakes up every now and then.

It’s located pretty near to Amsterdam main city area which is okay for me because I wanna sleep properly away from the touristic places. Also, it’s near to Waterlooplein station, two stops from Amsterdam Centraal. From there, you can go there by walking. Pretty cool thing about ClinkMama is the kitchen where I met lots of people while preparing my food. I also had board games to play with other backpackers. It was the best place to stay for Christmas, we were treated with Dutch food by the boss😊. Stuff are super kind, and helpful. And Tommy the cat is friendly, but sometimes he’s moody🤣 If I come back to Amsterdam, I’ll definitely book here again.

My bedside didn’t have electricity which made it impossible to charge my phone or other electrical devices. They offered some help though, which I really appreciated it.

Location is beautiful

Super cozy and very warm also nice staff enjoyed movie nights however the beds aren’t the most comfort tho other than that it’s lovely

The staff were very friendly, and the design inside the hostel was very cool :)
The bed was quite good and the view of the river in the morning was very nice.

I will say that my main and only issue was the bathroom. I think the boiler doesn't match the number of people within the building because, in 4 days, I had mainly cold showers. And it was around 0 degrees outside, so when I got back to the hostel, I was looking forward to having a warm shower.

Located near Central station, there are some grocery shops nearby, that is very comfortable, very good cleanliness

Toilets are quit close to sink, so sometimes it’s not comfortable

I liked that they include robes in your room. The room was a good size and the shower was big.

The bed felt thin and could feel the bars of the frame and you have to push a button to turn the shower on every couple minutes and only one temperature

My room was facing the canal and the it was very peaceful. The girl that checked me in was super nice.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable, and the atmosphere was great. Everything was nearly perfect, and I truly appreciated the warm hospitality.

I’d like to share a concern regarding the bed reservation process. Before check-in, I contacted the hostel to request a bottom bunk due to my back issues and the fact that I had a long stay booked. At first, I was told it would depend on availability, but later I received an email saying I could guarantee a bottom bunk by paying an extra fee.

When I checked in, the staff showed me to the room and mentioned I was “lucky” to get a bottom bunk—there was no mention of the additional charge. I also asked other staff during my stay, and they told me I didn’t need to pay anything. Because of this, I assumed it had either been waived or was not required after all.

However, at checkout, the manager, Mila, told me that I still needed to pay the fee. When I explained what I had been told earlier, she said, “We are all human and can make mistakes.” I completely understand that mistakes happen, but I don’t understand why I, as the guest, should have to take responsibility for this miscommunication. I followed the instructions, confirmed my request, and even checked with multiple staff—but in the end, I was told I must pay or risk being blacklisted. That left me feeling disappointed and uncomfortable.

I truly like this hostel, and the team has been very kind and welcoming throughout my stay. I just hope that in the future, all charges and special requests are clearly communicated at the time of check-in, and that if mistakes do happen, fair and respectful solutions are offered rather than placing the burden on the guest.

Local and staff, also they do have water 24h day available in the bar which is helpful when you arrive late at home and need to hydrate after a couple of beers

My room was not smelling well when I got in there (shared room), I opened the window and it got better. the toilets could be cleaned more often.

the location is perfect! walking distance to everything. the canal view from our room was luxurious, it was a nice touch to find maps in the room, the atmosphere of the hostel is relaxed, friendly, quiet. we liked the DIY and eco friendly interiors and fully equipped kitchen - we cooked every day, that saved us lots of money :) it felt like home

It is near the centraal station, felt safe and the staff were okay (didn’t stay too much to notice anything anyway) but would definitely go again.

Maybe for future options they can consider having a bathroom in the room, it was crazy and a bit uncomfortable meeting men in the bathroom. But maybe I’m just too reserved.

Stunk of weed, front entrance bit hard to find as you enter through a cafe. Private twin room felt like a box as now windows

It was very clean , quiet and the best part was no smoking inside the premises. I was worried about smelling the skunk odor and I was very happy to see the signs everywhere .
It was very quiet and clean. I could sleep into the morning and woke up when I wanted to .
I liked having the kitchen - I could cook home cooked meal.

Wish there were some activities such as karaoke or a cooking night.

Spacious, full kitchen, everything you need and two big supermarkets are around corner, great staff.

The door handle makes loud noise when opens/closes, if you sleep in a bed next to the door you won’t be able to sleep till everyone has settled in their beds (till very late).

Friendly staff, and very cool common area, with comfy sofas, nice little garden and big communal kitchen where guests can cook! This made all the difference for me, especially since it was a 4-night stay and I could have healthier food/save money via cooking in the kitchen! You can leave your food in a big communal fridge, and there is even a box with free ingredients that you or other guests can leave. Also sustainability seems to be big part of the way the hostel is run, if this is important to you. Nice location!

In my room for two of the nights there was a noise coming from the room, ventilation, radiator system or something similar. The furniture looked a bit worn off and/or dirty.
It would also have been nice if there were lockers that you didn't have to pay for, but this wasn't much of a problem.
The showers and toilets were perfectly ok and clean, but maybe there could be more of them.

Quite close to the city center and main attractions. The possibility of socialising with other people. We had umbrellas in our room quite useful for the rainy days. Fully equipped common kitchen.

The bad was very uncomfortable, the mattress was thin and placed directly above the frame consisting in some metal profiles spaced at around 30-40cm, it was horrible. There ware no power outlets close to the bad. In the bathroom there was no possibility to set the water temperature for the shower. There is no luggage room but they have some lockers for which you need to pay the small one was 6 euro for 6 hours.

The staff was very kind and helpful. We needed early checkin and they easly help us. The location is great. The place was very clean and at night was quite and peaceful. The kitchen area is very clean and well complete with all you need.

We need more poweroutlets in the rooms, specially if you pay for a private room. We were told was a queen bed but was more like a double bed.

The Dryer wasn't working but they helped sooo lovely with drying the clothes by Hand and put each single one on hangers and took care of it, washes it again even after it became a bit smelly in the first time because of no tumble drying! (the manager herself did it...) Love for them by Jesus
