I would like to share a positive experience of staying at Ecomama hostel. It was always clean and quiet here, which created a pleasant atmosphere for relaxation. I especially liked the variety of mini-events held here, as well as the presence of a cozy café. The girls' room provided good amenities, including a hairdryer and straightener, which was very convenient. Also, the common cute large hall, where you can relax and socialize with other guests, is an attractive feature. The hostel's excellent location adds extra points to it

However, it should be noted that the presence of a shared toilet and shower with men was not entirely comfortable. Additionally, it was somewhat chilly at night

good location. close the popular area and you can walk to Central train station. And no dug smell. good price in Amsterdam. public area is very good. big kitchen and have free tea coffee and some free food. cooking convenient.

it’s better if have a curtain on the bed

It was nice and comfortable, clean and with a nice common area, even with some activity on Saint Patrick’s day. Also the coffee bar at the reception was nice Great location The people working there or the fellow travelers you meet were interesting and pleasant people

The common area had a good atmosphere and nice decor, everything was very relaxed and friendly, and the place has a good ethos. The location was fairly central, easy to get everywhere in Amsterdam, and there was a market right by the nearest metro station with a few alternative/hippy style clothes stalls that I was really pleased to find. There's also an ekoplaza (organic supermarket) close by. The room was comfy and had everything we needed, and there were a couple of nice touches like ear plugs and a map with recommendations of places to visit.

The room was quite bare in comparison with the decor in the common spaces, so we only really went in there to sleep. We'd booked a cheap basic room and we got what we were expecting (it looked like the pictures) but they could easily add a bit of colour to the room or a picture on the wall to make it a bit prettier. The bottles for shampoo/conditoner/shower gel were all empty. I didn't realise until I was already in the shower, so I managed without them, and I'm sure the staff would have refilled them if we'd asked.

The atmosphere was really cosy and the staff were amazing. I’d enjoy talking with people there and the way everybody treated me.

The beds squeak that’s the only thing I didn’t like and also some curtains for beds would be nice.

The kitchen is one of the best I have seen. Lots of equipment and space. It's also an open space on the rest so it's nice. The decoration was quite original. Beds were comfortable but missing some curtains.

Missing some plugs in the open space to work. Unfortunately when I was there the vibe was a bit "dead". The common spaces are big and it felt there wasn't enough people to fill it.

Location, room, the hostel itself. Kitchen was an outstanding facility.

Stayed in a 4 bed dorm. The room was suitably sized with two bunks parallel to each other with a sufficient gap between the two. There was a light, two chargers, two USB and a shelf for each bunk. Location was great - 10 minutes to Central station. 5 minutes to a AH supermarket. The kitchen was fully equipped with induction hobs and everything you needed to cook (although I didn't use the facilities). The ensuite bathroom to the dorm was clean and spacious. The building was exactly what you could expect from the concept and quite different to a chain hostel. I liked it. Plenty of space and a nice quiet vibe. Bed was super comfortable with a nice cozy duvet and firm pillow.

A few more hooks are needed in the bathroom and in the room. Lockers are very small, suitable to fit a carry-on bag but not a suitcase or larger sized bag. No privacy curtain on each bunk bed. This would be a welcome addition as people come in after midnight shining their torch, which can be disturbing. Towel hire was relatively expensive.

The cat was adorable! And the place was very easygoing and had a great aesthetic. People were lovely too!

3 things I didnt like. Late check-in at 16, never met with so late checkin in hotel or hostel, and coffee place opens at 9 am. Which is late for someone who needs first thing coffee after waking up at 8 am. And one more..if u want to keep your baggage there until checkin time, u need to pay 6 eur.

The location is excellent. Walking distance to so many things. The room was clean and comfortable.

The common room noise travels up to the rooms. This isn’t too bad during the day, but sometimes guests didn’t respect quiet hours.

No hot water for taking a shower. Just warm water. No place to leave your luggage for free.

Our food was stolen from the fridge twice, labels didn't help. Also there was no shampoo and shower gel in the shower which is disappointing.

Friendly staff as well as other guests, with chill vibe and asthetic. Loved it! They even had a large kitchen available, could put stuff in the fridge and make tea whenever.

Was a little hard to find, front of the place is s bar/cafe. Look for the sign that says something like “F%$# I need a coffee” if you don’t find it :p
