Zoku, Amsterdam

Everything!! A brilliant concept. Home away from home with everything you need. The staff were friendly and helpful. The reception, lounge, bar, garden terrace were creative, fun, beautifully decorated and warm. We had the Loft XL and stayed for 11 nights and it was big enough and comfortable. Loved the pantry at the end of the passage if we needed more towels, dishwashing tablets, ice buckets etc. They have really thought of everything.

The breakfast is great! I do feel the rooms are a little overpriced. The bed was comfy and showerer roomy!

You couldn’t see TV from the bed which we enjoy falling asleep to. And this visit our TV reception was so bad we couldn’t even watch it.

The place is very nice, modern with an urban vibe! We stayed in a loft which was like a small supernova apartment with a full kitchen, fridge, microwave etc!! The breakfast is AMAZING, and the staff is superfriendly. will stay here again on my next trip to Amsterdam! They walk to the very city centre is 15 minutes or so. We spent a lot of time in De Pijp which was supernice!!

Room was nice. Two things missing that would have improved the stay were a luggage rack and box of facial tissues

The staff while they were all very nice, weren’t very helpful when it came to recommending outside restaurants near the hotel, their answer was oh I don’t know.

I wish there was a way to see the TV from the bed

A blend of art, culture and comfort. Rarely I’d give a perfect score, but Zoku was everything and more you’d expect from a stay that’s redefining the industry. Super cozy, central, very hip. Not the most luxurious but definitely the most efficient.

Breakfast was excellent. The top floor offers plenty of space to relax, dine, and enjoy beautiful views over the city. It’s a great apartment hotel, and the location is ideal. Just 10 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station and 5 minutes from both the metro and tram.

The cleaning was not great. Acceptable, but not satisfactory. The sofa had stains, and so did the toilet (which appeared to be permanent rather than due to poor cleaning). There were also stains on the bed, under the mattress, and some hair and dust.

Staff was great and room was clean and cozy.

More food options would be an excellent way of improving the customer’s experience.

Incredibly well designed little studio. It provided everything right down to dish cloths and clothes pins along with a few basic home office supplies…scissors, hole punch , stapler. There was an open closet down the hall for extra supplies if one needed them. Easy to access. It has a lovely rooftop garden where you can sit overlooking the city with a beverage or snack, as well as inside comfy seating and a friendly bar and little cafe. We did not purchase meals, but it appeared to be a popular spot. Nice neighborhood between 2 canals and 5 min walk from the Amstel River and a metro/tram stop. 10 to 20 minutes on public transpo from museums and Centraal Station. Grocery 7 min walk. Plenty of eateries and pubs in area. Really couldn’t ask for more.

At $400/ night after taxes etc, it seem d a bit pricy , but perhaps that was the expected cost for the area we were in.

The door between the hallway & elevator was noisy when people were coming/going. Would prefer a cold/continental breakfast option at a bit lower cost

We liked everything about this hotel. The location, comfortable beds, the rooftop restaurant. The fact that it had a kitchen was also great for longer stays.

The staff were friendly and very helpful.

The only thing that we didn't like was that our bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly when we got to our room.

This is like a "tiny apartment", all the usual bits on the ground, a bedroom on the pull out mezzanine. It was cute! Possibly not appropriate for the elderly given the stairs, but totally okay for younger generations. The customizable apartment vibe was lovely, change the decor. The communal area is buzzing with coworking vibes, and doesn't get in the way of breakfast or drinks, it's a good idea to make money beyond normal streams so I'm down with it. Breakfasts are pretty european with a hint of hipster, the fact they even do avocado is truly magnificent. Hummus for breakfast, mind blowing!

The lifts can get a bit congested. But nothing to be concerned about

Great hotel. Cool vibes, cool room, very clean, comfortable, modern, kitchen, all amenities. 6th floor is gorgeous and the greenhouse from the elevator and lots of outdoor sitting spaces was awesome. Super nice and friendly staff.

My key stopped working several times so it was a pain to have to keep going up the elevator to get it switched many times, even right after switching it, but it didn’t ruin the trip. Our adult children thought it was a really cool place and loved having their own rooms.

A little metro journey from the main part of the city, but it wasn’t bad. Totally worth it. Our keys kept malfunctioning.

Fantastic location, homely loft room, really convenient luggage storage for day of departure. The free Welcome drink is such a good idea and meant I spent a whole evening unexpectedly in the bar and stayed for dinner, as the team was so welcoming and the space was fantastic. The breakfast was also great so would recommend adding. I was a solo traveller on a short trip, but could see this working well travelling with others or for longer stays, especially if you’re working on your travels - great co working facilities too.

It’s a little expensive.

our stay was great! the staff was very friendly. we were able to check in a little earlier than anticipated since the room was ready. at arrival there is a free welcome drink voucher which you can use anytime during your stay on the rooftop bar/cafe.
the room was very nice and cozy. great amenities. the rooftop bar/cafe/terrace is very nice on a sunny day.
the location was okay, walking distance from a lot of attractions and also close to the metro and tram (about 7 minutes). there is a locker room to leave your belongings after checking out, which was really useful.

we will gladly stay at zoku again next time!

Incredible rooms and rooftop area. Really lovely staff, very helpful and welcoming. Quiet, relaxing terrace for smoking and sitting around open 24/7 was amazing.

The stairs up to your bed are a little wobbly and slide back in when you climb them sometimes.

Everything was super-clean and good quality. The rooms are soundproofed so you don’t hear any noise from outside the building. There were lovely touches to the room like an umbrella for rainy days and herbal teabags. Zoku also have a pantry on each floor with extras like pillows, yoga mats and other things you might need like extra mugs and glasses. The sixth floor holds the reception, bar and dining spaces. This is accessed across a conservatory-like walkway with beautiful plants and views across the city. This is a really special space where people can hang out and has a friendly atmosphere with comfy sofas. The staff are absolutely the best thing about Zoku. They made us very welcome and were friendly and professional. The breakfasts are outstanding.

Loved the whole design of the loft

Checking on 6th floor as a claustrophobic person it was a walk!

Location is great, amenities are great and it's a very quite area.

The room was not clean at all. Refrigerator was dirty, the room was very very dusty. I had to go buy allergy pills because of how dusty the room was. And to top it off, they do not accept cash.

Room was spacious and well equipped. Location excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly.

A bike pump for the rental bikes would be useful.

The space upstairs for working, relaxing and eating was absolutely brilliant - really enjoyed the diversity of spaces and ideas.
Loved our room - great use of space, clean, sense of fun. Perfect.

Great staff, good bed

Lovely Place and good location. We opted to upgrade to the 'loft' apartment which was very nice. Didn't get a chance to use many of the facilities but overall it's a nice place. The restaurant and co-work area on the top level is cool too.

Only thing that would be great to include is if there was a toaster in the kitchen!

Located 3 minutes from Theater Carre. Most of the center of Amsterdam can be reached by walking. Otherwise, alternate options of transport are close by. The lounge area at the 6th floor, with the restaurant and bar is very cosy & colourful and therefore a great place for a drink or have lunch or diner. The loft we stayed in was great! Everything what you need is in there!

You can only have breakfast between 8.00-10.00 am and therefore the breakfast area becomes very busy between 9.00 and 10.00 am in the weekend. It would be great if the time could be extended during the weekends.

I love this hotel. The reception/cafe/restaurant/work space area on the rooftop is delightful. It has nice restrooms, storage, and shower. My unit was great. I stayed in one of lofts. It is wonderful (though it can be a bit tight for two). Room had everything I needed. Minifridge is not that mini, which is great. Plenty of kitchen items. Amazing shower (one of the best water pressures in Europe). There is plenty of lighting. They have ice machines on every floor, which is rare in Europe. I even used the rings.

Guests have little control over the room temperature. You are only allowed to change the room temp by 3 degrees celsius up or down.
