Andaz Hotel Prinsengracht, Amsterdam

The hotel is in a good location on the Prinsengracht, friendly helpful staff, cool interior, good bar/restaurant. Pleasant room, great shower, nice balcony with views of hotel garden and Amsterdam roof tops.

No Iron to accompany ironing board in the room, when one arrived it didn't work! , but eventually sorted. Had a problem with the safe electronics going dead, so couldn't open it to get stuff out, again eventually sorted by maintenance team. Room TV wasn't smart so no Netflix Prime capability.

Great location. Pretty lobby. The rooms have interesting decor but they’re not very functional.

Decor fun and funky, location great for exploring Amsterdam on foot. Staff recommended excellent restaurants in walking distance. Helped with taxi arrangements to airport. Wish we were able to stay longer. Breakfast at hotel restaurant excellent. Tasting in bar that evening was fun too!

Front of house staff not very clear with communication. The holding of an additional 50% of fees for over a week does not befit the hotel and is not ‘normal’.

Lengthy delivery of service, like we had to call a few times for our coffee pods to be replenished. Rooms are quite worn out, especially the carpets. A refurbishment is due. Beds not very comfy and cleanliness needs a bit of attention.

Great location for both sightseeing and more intimate city walking: no crowds, channel-located, lots of shops and food nearby. Amazing design and comfy beds.

The day we were supposed to leave the maid woke us up at 7-30 in the morning knocking the door, ringing the bell and then just walked into the room saying: "You leaving today?" I was shocked since we were sleeping and there were no reasons for stuff to wake us up :-(

The location is perfect! The rooms are great. If you can get a room on the canal, it would be an added of bonus.

Staff was a little stand offish when helping. They were not rude but it made us want to avoid asking for any guidance during our stay.

Staff was amazing. Decor was fun and location was perfect.

Room service breakfast was disgusting. There are two restaurants: one is new with Michelin star chef. I didn’t try alas. The other is the bar restaurant and that food was not good either. Also didn’t like that the sink and shower were in the same room as the bedroom. Some places that works. I just stayed in a heavenly hotel in Athens wherein that was perfect. This felt sterile and kind of creepy.

Fun and quirky. GREAT front desk staff at check-in! Massages at the spa 10/10! The genever tasting was great! Breakfast buffet was well worth it!!! Great location, quiet and felt safe. Loved the room and the decor all thru-out the hotel. The garden was lovely. We got a kick out of the doors automatically opening when you approached and appreciated it every time!

A little pricey but a great stay!

This property is upscale. The rooms are totally artsy and fun. The lobby and restaurant have good food and nice cocktails. There are also a couple good wines by the glass. That could be improved, just order the most expensive wine by the glass. Excellent location in the center of everything!

Staff were very welcoming, the location is fantastic. Not too far from the museums and town centre.

The location is convenient to everything we wanted to see in Amsterdam and in a picturesque part of the city with lots of small bars close by. Mostly though, I loved the atmosphere of the hotel. Andaz has chosen a creative-forward direction but they have blended this perfectly with functionality and comfort. The lobby and bar are warm and inviting and while we did not dine at the hotel, we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in the bar area. We stayed in a Garden View room which felt like a home away from home and appreciated the layout and space available to store our luggage out of the way and feel comfortable. The room featured a complimentary mini bar, handy walk-in closet to hang our coats as well as ample space and sit down mirror at the vanity for makeup/skincare. The room was spotlessly upon check in and each day after room service and we both found the bed comfortable with quality linen. This will be our preferred hotel upon return visits to Amsterdam.

Beautiful hotel amazing location

Location, location, location. Location of the hotel is superb. Right next to the 9 Streets District littered with tons of wonderful shops and restaurants. Walking distance from pretty much anywhere in Amsterdam. Quiet at night. Even though the room was not large, the design of the room made it efficient for two people to use.

1. Hotel sauna was shared between men and women so can't go naked in it. 2. Leaking handheld showerhead caused the water pressure to weaken 3. Didn't like the shampoo/bodywash offered, hard to rinse off, woud have preferred bar soap

A sink in the middle of the room

Orange juice container was often empty and needed several reminders to be refilled. Not what I expect from a 5 star hotel. Also, main staff member asked me to choose anything from the menu and when I made my choice she told me I could get the item from the buffe instead. I insisted several times that I preferred to get the meal cooked before she finally agreed to take my order. Why ask me to choose from the menu and then insist I get it from the buffe instead? Then it should not be on the menu at all. Apart from this minor detail (you did ask) I am very happy with the hotell and this is still my goto hotell in Amsterdam.

No natural light in room. Hotel could not accommodate a late check out.

The location, room set up, customer service and cleanliness. The breakfast was very good.

I didn’t like the late room cleaning which occurred after 4pm. Also the drink servers were inconsistent with the pouring of wine. One lady was pouring half the required amount of sparkling wine into the glass compared to the other pourers who were providing the correct amount.

Room was nice. Had one looking over the canal. Hotel Lobby was fun.

Was very expensive. Maybe not a room over canal would have been fine.
