Expert reviews

Travel+Leisure review:

“The Rosewood Munich, as it stands now, is the culmination of a project 10 years in the making. And it’s just as spectacular as you’d expect a decade’s worth of work to be. Every space, including the lobby, 132 guest rooms, restaurant Brasserie Cuvilliés, and Asaya Spa, is decked out in muted earth tones, light woods, and pops of royal blues and decadent, emerald green velvet furnishings you simply cannot stop running your hands over.”

CN Traveler review:

“The hotel’s winning combo of repurposed history, inviting public spaces (including beautiful indoor/outdoor courtyards), elegantly appointed large-scale rooms, a sceney jazz bar, and charming spa area with signature Rosewood treatments makes this old-meets-new property one to reckon with.”

All you need to know

Walking into Rosewood Munich really feels like stepping into a piece of history. It’s housed in not one, but two stunning landmark buildings: the old Bavarian State Bank headquarters and a baroque aristocratic palace.

The design hits the sweet spot between old-world grandeur and modern luxury: think frescoes, marble staircases, creative artwork from local illustrators, and bespoke furnishings that still feel warm and lived-in.

Because it’s right in the heart of Old Town, you’re just a short walk from Marienplatz, the Residenz, the Bavarian State Opera, and all the historic hotspots.

When it comes to relaxing, Rosewood Munich doesn’t disappoint. Their Asaya Spa is a proper oasis with treatment rooms, saunas, an indoor pool, and a great gym.

The food is equally classy but not stuffy: there’s Brasserie Cuvilliés serving Alpine-inspired dishes with a twist, plus Bar Montez, which brings some live music and really cool cocktails.

Service is super personalised too. Butler service, local touches, and thoughtful staff make you feel less like a tourist and more like a guest in someone’s beautifully restored mansion.
