Serenissima Boutique Hotel, Crete

Breakfast. Location. Quiet Room. Balcony.

Staff were polite but not overly helpful or friendly. Room was on two levels so constantly up and down. Bed uncomfortable. Not a 5 star hotel.

Nice and comfortable place to stay in a lovingly restored 16th century Venetian house with Ottoman additions. Despite being in a busy part of town, it’s very quiet once inside. The night porter, staff at breakfast (Petros) and Vasssilis (who checked us in) were all very helpful and courteous.

1. Breakfast took a very long time to come. 2. Our junior suite was lovely and comfortable but had no view. 3. Despite being a junior suite, the room only had one armchair and no other comfortable chair to sit in and relax. 4. As mentioned by another reviewer, the staff decided to start cleaning the courtyard with a jet hose at a very early time in the morning making a lot of noise, which lasted for a few hours, thus disrupting the peace and quiet of the guests. No apologies were given. 5. On the day we checked out, the lady at the front desk ignored us for 20 minutes as she was busy chatting to some newly arrived customers, giving them information about where to go, what to do, etc. I had to interrupt them as our pre-ordered taxi was arriving soon and we needed to check out and get directions where to meet our taxi driver. 6. The hammam highlighted in many reviews is no longer functional, and the restaurant is permanently closed.

Lovely quiet elegant hotel in great location near Venetian Harbour with extremely friendly and helpful staff

An outstanding boutique hotel right in heart of Chania. As Chania can be quite busy and hot it was awesome to walk through the doors at the end of the day to a quiet oasis. The staff were lovely and full of helpful information. They booked our transfers for us and checked everyday to ensure we were happy with our vacation. The room was great, quiet, clean, and comfortable. We could not have asked for any more than Serenissima delivered. Truly outstanding.

It was so beautifully presented and conveniently located close to restaurants, bars and the waterfront but still a short walk out of old town. Staff were very helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations.

Great place in the heart of the old town, just a min away from the old harbour. The room was clean and cozy. Polite staff and ready to assist. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay and the young lady that served it was super kind and smiley. Will book again this place next time at Chania!

Everything about this hotel is fantastic. It’s located on a little side street , but right in the beautiful old Venetian harbour. The staff are super helpful and friendly, the à la carte breakfast is entirely satisfying (it actually makes the normal buffet brekkie seem ridiculous…). The entire building is an aesthetic delight, tastefully renovated, it’s impeccably clean and the rooms are extremely pleasant, you almost want to just stay in the room… This is an absolute gem of a small boutique hotel - warmly recommended.

The only sad thing is we couldn’t stay longer… 😎

Caroline at the front desk was amazing, she took the time to help us with lots of great advice on several occasions, and her smiling face was always fantastic when we arrived back at our fabulous oasis. A beautiful little hotel in a perfect position in the old town. We had an apartment with French doors opening to a wonderful sea view. The staff were exceptional, breakfast was an excellent buffet, and we loved everything about our stay. Would definitely book again.

Stylish and unique with excellent breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Easy to access good restaurants and free parking at Talos Square 5 minute walk only.

Superb breakfast a la carte, made with great care. Fresh orange juice, excellent coffee, homemade delicious cakes, excellent omelets etc.

The noise from streets during the "late party hours" can be disturbing if you prefer to have the windows open (like we do).

Location and amenities

The location was great, close to the harbor and a variety of restaurants. The breakfast was great as was the service.

It would have been nice if the restaurant had been open, but then I understand the issue which was left over from the COVID shutdown.

Everything was wonderful. They did upgrade us to a junior suite, which may have influenced my opinion, but staff are amazing as is position!

I would give this hotel a ten out of ten! I booked this hotel a year before our trip and when I saw the pictures online I was blown away! It is even better in person than it is online! I couldn't stop taking pictures of the place! It is extraordinary! The staff is exceptional as well! When we arrived, the concierge had walked to meet us at the drop off location, to ensure that we could find our way back to the hotel! What hotels do this? When we were leaving, the female concierge again walked with us, to show us where to meet our driver! (the streets are very narrow in the Chania and cars/taxis cannot fit down every street). Chania itself is an extremely beautiful old city with loads of charm! There are only seven rooms in this hotel and it has been lovingly restored to the highest of standards! The rooms are palatial with vaulted ceilings and they are exceptionally clean! The breakfast was a full breakfast, with a menu etc. and it was free! The location is perfect as it's right in the heart of the city. So all in all, there's a reason it's rated #1 on Trip Advisor for hotels in Chania. It was one of the prettiest hotels I have ever stayed in!

Would not change a thing! Every one of the people that work there are exceptional and the hotel is gorgeous!

Great location in the heart of old town. Great service including a great breakfast every morning. The rooms was spacious and very comfortable. Chania is a great tourist town - clean, great things to see, and not overcrowded. Will definitely be back.

The staff were really kind and very helpful - they booked me a massage when i arrived (which was heavenly) and called to say i could check in early. The location is brilliant, the room is stylish and very comfy and the breakfast was great.

The location was great and the staff were friendly.

The beds weren’t comfortable and the pillows rock hard despite the fact that they had a pillow menu it made not difference. They were all bad. The bath/shower combination without a shower curtain or glass meant that water went everywhere. Not a good design at all.

We were met by VASSILY and escorted to the hotel. He was considerate, knowledgeable, and courteous as was the rest of the staff at the desk and at breakfast---which was delicious every day.

The hotel is very centrally located in the old town, pedestrian area near the marina, shops and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious, lots of it and lots of choice. There is a really nice feel to the hotel, very restful and quiet away from the busy streets.

We experienced a bit of noise from other guests (not the hotel's fault) and we missed having a mirror in the bedroom (in addition to the one in the bathroom).

The hotel is very beautiful with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast is superb, the best we have ever had in a hotel, the stuff is very nice and extremely helpful. The location is very good
