City Backpackers Hostel, Stockholm

Loved that you could use the facilities prior to 2pm check in and easy to store bags. In four bed female dorm that looks right into a restaurant courtyard, good to have a window seat for bags. Kitchen facilities are good and well set out with fridges per room. Felt more chill than party, I enjoyed reading in the lounge. Location is really easy to get around, got a bus straight from ferry outside property and walk 10 mins to get the train at the main station.

The additional fee on top for bedding is really inane, especially when you have to make it and strip it down yourself, which if you arrive late or leave early is super disruptive to your dorm mates. It’s mandatory so why charge separately? Lockers are not big enough for more than a large carry on bag. Shower was broken and they are all downstairs through the kitchen.

The staff was kind and the beds were comfy. The location is good, walking distance from the center and the train station. It's nice that you can be social if you want, but don't need to.

The place was like a maze, hard to find nearby toilets and showers. The rooms next to the court yard have very loud music on some nights. While luckily people seem to stick to the 23:00 silent rule, some nights it's impossible to fall asleep before that.

The place was very clean. The reception was helpful and welcoming, making check-in and questions super easy. It also had a sauna which I really enjoyed. On top of that, the other guests were friendly and kind, which made the atmosphere even better. Would definitely recommend!

Maybe the Toilet way too small and sometimes without toilet paper 🧻 lol 😆 I guess as a backpackers you must bring atlist 1 just incase for the busy #2 😉

I know is not the property to blame but my room was very disorganized by the people that was already staying there. It would be good to remark that rooms should be tidy.

Really cosy welcoming feel. Plenty of bathrooms, good kitchen facilities, really friendly staff. Our first stay in a hostel and we thoroughly enjoyed

I loved the proximity to the train station, and the communal kitchen was nice and large. The room was also comfortable and clean.

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of the “no shoes” policy and wish that had been broadcasted more obviously as I was making the booking, so that I knew to bring slippers. Also didn’t love the wild-goose-chase search for showers scattered in random nooks and crannies (there’s a reason there are maps everywhere!). Lastly, no one enforces the posted quiet hours. Still, these were minor issues, all things considered.

The hostel has a very social atmosphere. It wasn't difficult to meet people and make friends. There were also plenty of places to work or relax as well as free coffee!

The beds creak loudly when you move, which I found quite annoying. Definitely recommend bringing earplugs as the door can also be a bit loud when people enter or leave the room.

The bedcovers were fantastic. They were supclean.

there were sølvfisk on my bed :/ too many repetitive emails conveying the same information, I got bombarded with messages with the exact same info.

The place is close to all the main places in the city

The only thing i didn't like that there wasn't an option for single gender rooms, that all rooms were shared. If you have trouble sleeping or are a light sleeper, i don't recommend this place, because there's a possibility for you to be woken up by someone's snoring as i was.

Great location (walking distance from Stockhom Central). Nice common areas to hang out. Kitchen is well equipped and there is enough space to store your own food. The reception area is very nice, offers free tea and coffee from 9 to 14h, then it turns into a bar however. It might be good to know beforehand that you have to take your shoes off once you enter the hostel; I liked thst because everything feels clean and cosy. Bathrooms were a bit tiny but clean and there were enough.

Be aware that the major part in (incl. Litchen and common area) of the hostel is in an labyrinthine basement with no windows or natural day light. The information provided by staff at check in is quite basic.

The hostel was clean and secure (other people have noted the multiple coded needed but as long as you keep a photo of them to hand it’s not a problem), the beds were comfy, and I met some really cool people here! The location is super close to the airport train which is really handy.

This is a social hostel only when guests put in the effort with other people - I think more effort should be made with free daily/weekly events. Layout was very confusing, especially downstairs - individual toilets and showers all scattered around

The location is great, if you need a place close to the central station. The overall atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. Having a sauna in a hostel is great, though this time I didn't have a chance to use it. Used it before though, extra points for the cold water bucket thing. Anyways I had a very short stay over, needed a place near central station, and this was a good spot the purpose. Also had some quick but nice encounters with fellow travellers.

Had some confusion with communication regarding of the payment, some messages came from the hostel's system some through booking, so wasn't sure how and where to answer, and there was a moment of risk of cancellation (from their part) even though I had paid, but eventually we managed to get over the confusion, so no harm done, I'm happy for the stay.

The reception staff was kind I felt reassured knowing that it was popular even at night.

The showers are unisex so I was a bit worried about safety.

Sleeping in an 8 beds room can be uncomfortable. With people snoring and rolling around.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. It was quite comfortable and clean. I felt that both I and my belongings were safe (although I did have to buy a locker padlock on site). Many people from different parts of the world were staying there with me, so I can say that this hostel is very international and perfect for those who are looking to make a lot of new connections

I’m quite introverted, so I was surprised by how social the guests at this hostel were. Within the first hour of my arrival, about five people had already started conversations with me. Because of this, I lacked personal space and felt anxious when I was in common areas, like the kitchen. In general, a high level of social interaction isn’t a bad thing, but I wasn’t prepared for it

Sauna was under refurbishment, so I couldn't use it. Besides, there is no compensation for that.

The staff were friendly, the accommodation was clean and nice, and close to the train station. I was satisfied with the size of the bed and the room.

One drawback is that you have to take off your shoes inside the building, so bring indoor sandals.

It’s my first time at a hostel on my own. What I like: Warm vibe upon walking in. Warm and welcoming staff! Everyone’s awesome. Bedroom was very clean - sheets very clean. Bathroom was very clean and spacious enough for 6 stranger ladies to use. Ample locker provisions both inside the room for backpacks and outside the room for big luggages. The kitchen was clean although I did not get to use it. There is an outdoor resto bar garden with live band adjacent so it’s fun at night The location is perfect! I totally love my experience and I’d ho back and recommend this place to everyone.

Maybe add electric outlet in the bedroom, and the common room some or maybe have a charging station for phones at the common area. A bit more night light in the bedroom will be nice - just pin light.

the rooms underground, or I should say these are not suitable for rooms because there are no windows and some just neighboring to the social space, which make sleeping uncomfortable. otherwise, the rooms at ground floor is ok to excellent.

They nickel and dime the f out of you. Charging for sheets? Come on. Needing a Rolodex of codes just to go to bed is also nuts. Different codes for each door plus your bedroom, and of course don’t forget to bring the code guide with you down the Soviet bunker looking hallway that leads to the showers, or you could get locked in the shower area at 1 am with no way to get out. Luggage storage is free but requires going through a third party website, and then yet another code. It just felt like they see guests as a burden rather than making us feel welcome.

Comfy bed. Great communal areas. Loved the fact you could help yourself to pasta. Easy check in process after 8pm.

Could do with a shelf on the top bunk a for your nightime bits. My room backed onto the courtyard of the Nomad so particularly one night it was really loud music and talking right outside my Windlesham until gone midnight. But I was fine with earplugs. The map was a little small and hard to figure out…took me while to find my room.

Laundry was out of order and no showers in the first floor

Good location and easily accessible. There was after hour access if needed, which was great for travellers. The apartment room was brilliant and comfortably slept a family of 5 or 6. Great value for money; especially with free access to the sauna and free pasta.

Only concern was how loud it was in the evenings. The hostel is located right above a restaurant with live music, which played well into the night. Whilst our family are great and heavy sleepers, this would likely be an issue for anyone with young children or any light sleepers.

- No windows as written in the description but also no windows in kitchen and main common area downstairs - My bed was making A LOT of noise and wasn’t stable when the person below was moving. You can expect less comfort in a hostel but this bed was really noisy and I would wake up as night when the person below was moving….

I did not like that you have to pay at the door for sleeping things. That should just be part of the price from the start.

Amazing stay, the showers and wc’s were seperate and clean. Because there were no shoes allowed, everything else was clean as well. Also enjoyed the free pasta!

It is very well located, close to all you need and even so, it is a nice quiet area in front of a park. The rooms are quiet and clean and the facilities are nice and appropriate. There is a sauna and free pasta so you can cook your dinner!

- location was good - big kitchen for whoever wants to cook - nice design - there’s an interior yard

- bathrooms weren’t the best - no bed curtains - big socialising area but so quiet and no actual socialising - rooms had only half a window and street level

We got the requested family room. It’s a bit noisy with the bar next to it, but worked very well for us. Hostel got a lovely atmosphere.

The female room was really big! I actually had a good sleep and found the beds pretty comfy. Unfortunate there are 2 bunkbeds that are built into the wall that are hard to get in and out of but you can choose your own bed so just be cautious. I thought the facilities were nice and clean, I always saw housekeeping cleaning every morning. Lots of extra bathrooms and showers that were private as well Loved how the kitchen fridges were separated by rooms instead of one mass fridge. Location was a bit of a walk if you're going to areas near the Vasa Museum, but public transit is really easy to use

I wish linens were included!! the kitchen could be busy at times but thats just hostel life! Also always wish the bunkbeds has curtains
