Jacobs Inn Hostel, Dublin

Location was super convenient right in the heart of dublin! Nice and close to train and bus stations aswell as being about 30 minutes from the airport. I stayed in a 12 bed mixed dorm only down side was the bathroom was unavailable if someone was showering, and I could hear the music through the floor if it was playing in the bar.

The lady that greeted us at reception was quite rude, said there was an issue but wouldn't elaborate. Spoke to her colleagues in a different language infront of me and my sister so we couldn't understand and let us stand there awkwardly for 10 minutes whilst she did something on the computer with no explanation.

Great location, comfortable beds, clean rooms and great environment at the lounge and bar downstairs. I would definitely stay again

The elevator was down a few times and sucks when your on the 3rd floor and have to carry your luggage

Pods are nice, option lower pod (for a small fee), lockers available, nice and big hostel, good price-value

I arrived too early and needed to get a locker. This was €3, bur when I came back later on, I had to pay €12 extra to retrieve my bags from the locker because I exceeded the time… I stayed in another Hostel the evening before and there it was € 4 fee for a locker for 24h …

The sleep quality was bad due to the pillow. Please change them as the one you provide is not comfortable

All good. Placement of ladders made it a bit awkward scrambling into top bunk but nothing major.

It couldn't be more well located! It's clean and you feel safe because every section has a door code that is given to us when we check in. I also had a locker to keep my luggage. The common area is very cool and during my stay there was a jam section that was better than the pubs I visited in the same evening. Very nice. I definitely will be a guest again.

Great big busy hostel. In a smaller dorm.room was also quiet.

Our bathroom door needs repair that was not quiet. An it's very warm.

The dormitory rooms are super nice! I slept very well in the pods, they are well designed. Storage space is abundant and i loved that the room had it's own shower with an indicator light to tell me if someone else was already using it. Really added an element of comfort to my stay. Rooms were a bit warm but for me it was a plus when you take the Irish weather into account.

It's a bit expensive considering what you're actually getting. I guess that's just European hostel travelling in year 2025. Also the luggage storage should be free. Never seen a place where they didn't offer to hold bags. Lastly, there weren't a lot of communal areas - the lobby area is quite small (and seemed to often be home to neighborhood drunks) and the hangout room has a bit of a juvenile detention facility vibe.

The breakfast was awful over cooked sausages and eggs and hash browns ..too spread out....... every thing needs to be closer together for a more convenient experience of what is available..

The staff was very nice! There was something to do in the bar downstairs every night, which was fun, and with my earplugs in I didn't hear a thing. The location was great, everything was clean and accessible. Would absolutely come here again!

The pod was a bit warm but it also was unusually warm in Dublin for the time I was there. If you sleep with your head near the opening it was totally fine.

Prices for the luggage lockers, if you need to leave your luggage before/after your stay, were a bit expensive as you need to pay by the hour.

My room was spacious and comfortable and they had plenty of hot water.

The 4 bed dormitory was handy as it’s nearly a room with a private bathroom since I never saw any of the other people staying there.

One of the staff members at check in was quite rude and unprofessional.

The idea of sleeping

I liked the facilities and the staff were very nice. Room was clean and it was nice to have the pod so you could have a bit of privacy. Close to the tram station!

The location was a bit off, did not feel safe walking to the hostel in the evening after dark.

It’s got very nice dorms, good shower and bathroom set up. Small kitchen/hang out area. The bar downstairs is good with nightly activities! Was a decent stay

The staff weren’t the friendliest. And I was very keen for music night but it started about an hour later than they advertised. The hot food at breakfast wasn’t very good, the cold food was fine

The sockets in my 4th bed were broken unfortunately. Plus you need to be really prepared that you won’t be alone, like bathroom and all the place for eight people. The roommates might be a bit messy but staff do everything to make your stay more comfortable

Blonde receptionist was about the rudest, most aggressive person I've ever met in hospitality. I get that they might get some rude customers or work long hours but her colleagues were nowhere near as bad. Generally most of the staff wasn't that friendly. Some nutcases in the next street along before you get into the city.

Nice atmosphere, pod style beds, reception, bar and chillout area, and quiet area in the centre 5 minutes walk from anywhere

It is a hostel after all, so do remember to take their free earplugs :)

The rooms were really cool, I booked two 10 bed rooms out with my friends so we had only people we knew in the rooms and it was really nice. The beds were fine, quite private but weren’t hugely comfortable. They get very hot at night and the pillow is very flat. They rooftop terrace was a great hangout spot, a lovely bar and restaurant too. There was good security with lockers supplied in all rooms and also codes to get in and out of the rooms and hallways. The breakfast is an additional 12 euro, but it wasn’t anything too special. Everything you’d need like cereal, toast, fruit, eggs etc. (But not worth 12 euro, so I didn’t avail of it). It was very quiet at night but there was a lot of noise from outside in the morning. Amazing location!! Right in the centre and only a luas away from anything in town.

Basic but clean - & appreciated the locker, cubicle for shoes & the 2 usb connections. Also, the shower room was excellent - & the room entry codes are changed every week for extra security.

The hostel's location is just top - very close to everything in the heart of Dublin. The sleeping pod was comfortable: nice mattress, pleasant duvet, reading light inside. The breakfast food selection was rather basic but enough to construct a kind of a full Irish breakfast. The place felt safe, and the atmosphere inside was nice. Also got lucky - no unruly or snoring neighbors.

- They charge for luggage storage, this is I believe the first accommodation I stayed at that does that. - An open window is the only way to ventilate the room, Dublin seagulls will wake you up at 6 :) - I failed to notice any facilities to cook or even heat up own food.

Hostel was clean and tidy. I don't really stay in hostels much due to privacy reasons but thought the privacy was OK here. There seemed to be a food atmosphere in the hostel.

There was a weird smell downstairs by the elevators and the person below my bed was making weird noises but these are minor details.

Almost all pods were empty, out of the 3 only people there (including me) snored a lot and neither me or the other girl batted an eye... Id recommend When the flow is low to spread then through the room
