Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort, Orlando

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency with my family including my 2.5 year old daughter for our trip to Disney World. Room was a little small (only beds, no table or room for a sitting area) though the entire property was great - very clean and excellent staff who were available and so kind! Excellent location located only 5 mins from Starbucks and about 15/20 minutes from The Pointe, Orlando where many restaurants are located. 15 min drive to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Pros: incredibly friendly and warm staff, great massive pools with delicious lunch food and kids options, lots of do on-site when you need a down day from the parks like boating, rock climbing. Cons: we booked a crib with our reservation and it took us calling and asking the front desk several times to bring the crib up to our room, small-ish rooms, we had a lake-view room and faced a wedding which was pretty loud until around 10pm on Saturday night (as a family with a young child that had just spent a whirlwind 3 days at Disney, we went to bed at 8 every day so it was a little annoying).

Great hotel. Parrot Merlot made a welcoming environment even more special. Dinner was superb with Japanese cuisine and delicious desserts.

Room furniture and bathroom amenities would need some refreshing. Also, breakfast could have more choice.

Have come for years. We like that it is away from Disney. Good restaurants. Service staff is super good. I had to be hospitalized and your staff was supportive in every way.

No big deal but room blaming by 3 would be nice.

I would have liked updated bedroom, it was outdated, nice hotel nice garden but the bedroom looked like a 3 star hotel. everything in the hotel was good and all activities good

We absolutely loved Tim and Merlot. He took time to talk to us a while and let us get pictures. We looked forward to seeing Merlot in the mornings on his perch. We also LOVED Brian, the bartender and the Lakehouse restaurant. We made it a point to buy all our drinks from him as we wandered the resort. He was super attentive, hilarious, very awesome. We Loved the bikes and paddle boats. We used both. And even though we only had 20 minutes till the bikes closed up, the gentleman let us go anyway. He could have said no. That was very cool of him and we made sure to be back on time for him. Wish we remembered his name. We LOVED the waterfall hot tub. It was fabulous. We genuinely completely enjoyed our stay. It was our first wedding anniversary and we haven’t stopped telling everyone all about it. We travel at least 2-3 times a year and this was one of the best stays.

I have zero complaints. Breakfast was a little overpriced and the eggs were a little.. wet. But honestly it wasn’t a big deal. It’s the only negative I could recall.

Needs an upgrade as it’s looking tired. There has been something spilt on the carpet in the main room that made the carpet sticky and sandy. Shower head in the bathroom was more like a trickle than a stream of water.

Superb in all areas. Amazing swimming pool with rock waterfalls and swim through caves Staff excellent and even remembered our regular drinks.

The pool area was amazing. Waterfalls, waterslides, several acres of pool. Even an outdoor movie at night over the pool.

Although I had hdcp parking next to the hotel, the self park was really far away for regular drivers.

It’s a grand hotel with beautiful well maintained grounds and garden. Its spacious lobby ensures it never feels too busy.

The car parking charges are outrageous. $50+ for valet parking plus tips over and above makes self parking more affordable even @$35+ but with such long walks to the lobby with the slopes makes it hard for those of us who are getting old.

I like the fact that you don’t really need to leave the resort they have plenty to do on property.

I don’t like the fact you have to pay for parking I understand valet but there should be a free closer parking area for those who choose not to use valet

The staff, room and facilities were excellent. Amazing choice of swimming pools and all to a high standard. The staff couldn’t do enough for you. Food was very good and service couldn’t be faulted.

Car parking is very expensive, self parking at $36 a day. Some of the pool furniture needed replacing as it was broken and was a safety hazard.

Parking is a hike and valet is $$$. When you add the resort fee and parking fee it adds quite a bit. I would rather have it all included in one price.

Beds were not comfortable, very firm. Staff at front desk were short with us. Hotel is getting dated-feels like it was the spot in the 90s.

Everything! It is literally the most complete and beautiful resort I have ever visited in the United States... it has everything you need for a vacation... beautiful pool, bikes, boats, golf, cinema, climbing, absolutely everything perfectly synchronized.

Bathroom was too small. The combined barndoor to closet and bathroom is not a good idea. The openness to the toilet without it being private is not good. Only one sink in the bathroom is not good.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. We loved all the amenities the property has to offer. The pool is amazing. The overall feel of the property and aesthetics. It is well maintained.

The breakfast buffet for the price point could have been alot better. We had amazing meals and service during the trip except for the breakfast buffet. It wasn’t bad, just not up to par with the rest of our dining experiences. We also did not like the bedding. It was stiff and uncomfortable. We have had better quality sheets at Holiday Inn. The towels were also rough and stiff. I felt like I was drying myself off with sandpaper.

The pool

Their needs to be a time limit per person for the jacuzzis. Theirs only two on site and this resort is massive. We. Any babysit our chairs, but people can babysit the jacuzzis?? That was my only complaint. Everything else was wonderful

Have been staying at the Grand Cypress hotel since the late 90's and always stay there when visiting Orlando. Proper holiday hotel with the timeless and amazing pool area and lake. No other choice for me there. A++

It’s a beautiful property. Everything is kept clean. The outside pool area was phenomenal. My family has so much fun and everything is included, including mini golf, rock, climbing, boats, and paddle boards, and more. There were two free waters in the fridge. The drinks outside by the pool were strong and delicious. All of the staff we interacted with were very welcoming and friendly.

There was some mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Some parts of the pool area were a bit old and falling apart.

Self park far away. Cost of breakfast quite high considering the selection. When paying resort fee some things to enjoy the property should be included such as borrowing a fishing rod for fishing rather than sell them, use of kayak rather then have to rent them ect…

The whole place was amazing!! Great staff and super friendly environment!! Pool was amazing my daughter had a blast swimming through the tunnel and I had fun going down the water slide.

1. Main pool was closed from 8am to 5pm on Saturday for cleaning. This was really inconvenient as we choose the hotel for the pool 2. You need to wait to eat at the restaurant as the restaurant is small compared to the number of guests. They contact you when the table is ready.
