Hotel The Savoy, London

The service was superb > especially the room service. Could not fault it. Food excellent. Beds so comfortable and room is the quietest in London! So kind to leave chocolate for my husbands birthday. That made his day. The doormen were brilliant too.

The tea was too weak for me. Toast was not toasted enough. We had problems with the final bill and there were extra charges on it, but the receptionist did sort it out. I also think we should have been told about the extra daily service charge of £35.

I loved the pool, steam and sauna rooms, the bedroom was very Luxurious and amazing, the hotel was amazing, the bed was very big and a very comfortable nights sleep

We went to the American bar - chatted for ages, then as soon as we sat down (empty might I add) we were told that we couldn’t have a drink because of our clothes - please note I was wearing a 2500E Chloe coat and 5000E bag! So hardly shabby but because I had leggings with my 1000E cashmere jumper NOPE.. literally embarrassed and walked out.. luxury is not what it used to be it can be unique and different - keep up with the times!!! We were staying and was rare op as we had baby sitter.. so was disappointing.

What is there to say about The Savoy that hasn't already been said, a thousand times before. Not our first five star experience, but our first time at The Savoy and it did not disappoint in any regard whatsoever. From first arrival by car, being greeted by the concierge, who took our luggage and whisked the car away, to the impression as you enter the building, the reception staff, ambience, decor and the almost unquantifiable atmosphere of a top class establishment. Far from aloof, every member of staff we came into contact with was warm, welcoming, friendly and seemed very much aware that they were part of the history of The Savoy and that it was incumbent upon them to maintain the very highest of standards. We will definitely return and cannot recommend The Savoy highly enough. Simply fabulous.

A stunning property Christmas decorations were wonderful.

Room was quite small considering the expense. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable however not a lot of storage for large suitcases.

The hotel is stunning - this was my third stay here. The doormen, restaurant staff and health club staff were absolutely brilliant. The swimming pool was also fabulous - the three kids all enjoyed the heated pool and the jet.

It was exceptionally busy so check in was a little haphazard. We couldn’t check in as the system wasn’t loading so we didn’t get any kind of check in briefing. I’m not sure I actually signed anything as I had prepaid. That was the only slightly disorganized part of our entire stay.

Absolutely lovely staff and a really magical place to spend a few days just before Christmas. Highlights include the view from the room of the river and Big Ben, the 'snow' they have outside in the evening, the pool, the smiling, incredibly helpful team who work there and the brilliant location - we could walk to the West End, to Somerset House for the ice-skating, to great restaurants... it's all on your doorstep.

I can't think of anything. Obviously it's expensive, a real luxury to go there but you know that in advance, so it's not like it's a surprise.

We would have liked to sit in the reception area for a coffee on our return in the evening, but were told no you need to go to your room!!!

Difficult to complain about the Savoy. It's the Savoy. An amazing hotel without an overbearing or sycophantic approach to guests. Made to feel most welcome. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys and can occasionally afford, the finer things in life!

We also ate in the Savoy Grill. It's impossible to suggest anything that isn't wonderful, although a lesser checkout charge would be welcome. That said, you get what you pay for.
