Guesthouse Brody House, Budapest

The location is great, and the room is gorgeous.

No elevator

OK, I did not expect this level of style ! The room was beautifully decorated, massively influenced by the history of the hotel - artists' residence. Each room is themed on each artist with works of art throughout and making up the overall decor. Our room was large, high ceilings, quiet, and had every facility I needed ... or could even imagine ever needing! The 2 ladies on reception were very helpful and friendly. Additionally, I am happy the room had no TV. It was a welcome change and a TV would not fit in place in this artistic environment. For a longer stay, the dishwasher, washing machine, oven etc, would be great, however our 3-day was too short for these. There is nothing at all to fault - it is not a modern, sterile, hotel, ... this place is beautiful, charismatic, and very stylish.

I loved being at Brody House. The room was fabulous and extremely spacious. I had a wonderful time staying here. The location is excellent, and you can walk to all the places. There are lots of good places to eat nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved the building itself - it isn't like a hotel - you feel like you're part of a story. The whole property is incredible. I will recommend this to others.

I loved everything about this place! The only point to note for those who are slightly older or have challenges climbing stairs is that my room was on the 2nd floor, and you have to climb several stairs to get there - this wasn't a problem for me - but for slightly older people - it might be a challenge.

Amazing atmosphere - rooms with a lovely urban vibe, very tasteful, full of small artsy pieces. Cool late-night bar idea!

Great central position opposite the museum, close to public transport and restaurants. Gorgeous historic house decorated in quirky style with a bar, access to a laundry and kitchen. Totally unique!

The breakfast provided was vegan/vegetarian, lovely food but may not suit everyone. We were not aware of this when booking. Also no lift so suitcases need to be carried upstairs (very minor issue when staying in such a unique property!)

This place is absolutely charming and so well executed. From the staff to the rooms, decor and the honesty bar it was right up my street. If you want full service hotel, with a restaurant and room service, then its probably not for you, but if you want something unique and quirky in a location that cant beaten I cant think of anywhere better

The atmosphere of the place was incredible! We are definitely going to come back when we visit Budapest again.

In addition to great service and perfectly clean rooms, you get the character and the atmosphere that is often missing even in the most luxurious Hotels. There is no Hotel in the world like the Brody House.

Bródy house is a beautiful place to be. Beautiful art and decor and the staff are friendly and welcoming, especially Anna and Mary. We absolutely loved it there and it made the weekend trip to Budapest all the more special to stay at Bródy House. I shall be taking some style ideas for my own home with the decor! Loved that we had use of a kitchen area also and honesty bar and help yourself to free tea and coffee. The bed was super comfortable and it all felt very relaxed and home from home in a very stylish way. Excellent location could get to the Danube and walking tour meeting points and pls the sights in a short walk. Would love to stay here again.

There was nothing we didn’t like. However the bath mats were extremely slippy on the polished floors so had to take care. Perhaps a rubber backed mat would be safer.

Loved how the charm and elements of the old building were preserved, after being skillfully renovated. The atmosphere was very cosy. Staff was incredibly sweet and helpful. Also appreciated that we were provided with some lists of recommended places and with information about the art that surrounded us.

Brody House is an amazingly unique place to stay in Budapest. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking at the properties right now! Artful rooms, cleanless, staff, breakfast, the atmosphere of the hotel, facilities etc. 10 / 10

Design of building and decor

Lack of interaction with staff and security of rooms. Conflicting info on websites, no manned bar with limited facilities

The hotel is super beautifully and uniquely designed. The room we got was substantial and adjoined very comfy and homey communal areas which we were at liberty to use. The bed is super comfortable and the shower as well. The bathtub in the room is a wonderful touch. And just the overall design is fantastic. The hotel also provides with with lots of local recommendations for cafes, restaurants, culture via a qr map. Really great touch!

Our room was not cleaned, the sheets were left unchanged (for our entire stay) and towels were infrequently changed as well. We had to request that the room be cleaned several times during the stay which to be honest felt kind of awkward… and frustrating to have to continuously ask for. The breakfast is also pretty bare bones. Cute. But very basic.

The room (pg) was wonderful! It was big and perfect for relaxing in the bath, after a long hike in the cold. The relaxing area was also very nice. The downpoint was that there were random private party’s that were very loud till early in the morning. They don’t tell you that on their site, but (sometimes) trough an e-mail with an apology. The hostess Marie and Anna made our days with their kindness and service.

There were 2 spontaneous party’s that were very loud.

Staff could have been more helpful. When asking about Hungarian food options in neighborhood I was basically told to google. It’s more guest house and less hotel which is fine. Except all over the hotel are awards for best guest house under 100 euros and I paid 225 euros which is too much for nespresso coffee (staff was late in am when I wanted a cappacino) and to be told “I eat at my grandmothers for Hungarian food look at google”
