I liked the location, excellent. Very close to the station and other places I planned to visit. Some of the staff were nice, others were quite unhelpful. Rooms were cleaned an other facilities were cleaned.

The breakfast was a bit cold, bake beans cold made me feel like throwing out. I didn't like how ppl checked in at midnight, they come into the room, making noise as if its their private room. Very rude behaviour

The location is convenient, allowing quick access to the city center via the 24-hour ferry service. The building is large, providing opportunities to meet people and participate in many community events.

I don’t want to seem overly critical, but when it comes to comfort, you get what you pay for. The room is very simple and lacks personality, often resembling a prison cell, but that is acceptable. My main concern was cleanliness; the room was absolutely filthy upon my arrival. It seemed like the floor had never been mopped or vacuumed. I stayed there for five nights in a private room, and it was never cleaned during that time. I almost felt like asking for a vacuum cleaner so I could clean it myself.

I just wish the rooms had a table or something that could make it easier to organize belongings before and after using the locker

The location was perfect.

It doesn’t have kitchen. I wanted to prepare my own food and breakfast and I couldn’t.

Staff were very friendly, one of them even showed me how to use my TSA lock which was so helpful! I ordered a pizza and the chef was very kind and the food was great and reasonable in pricing. Location is fantastic! It's right across from Amsterdam central and you can get a free ferry across to the hostel, the ferry is very frequent (I think I only had to wait a few minutes once).

I think the cleanliness could be improved but it didn't effect my stay and I appreciate it's a hostel with many people coming in and out (I shared with 2 boys and I am a girl so maybe that was it).

Locker in the room did not lock

I've been in CLINKNOORD in 2018 and it was amazing, even if I had a private room for 4 people (which we were in the group), now, in 2025, I stayed for a couple of days and it was almost the same, even sleeping in shared room I had a lot of comforts, and it's very near to the centre (just take the boat to reach it, free and 24h available) but still in a very calm area of Amsterdam, absolutely recommended.

Very social and big hostel, there are a lot of things to do, well equipped, the breakfast was amazing, helpful staff - they let us change our room because of noisy kids running around in the hallways and talking loud.

The shower head in the bathroom is static, you cannot open the windows in the room, there was not enough air flow and the walls weren't soundproof, you could here everything from the rooms and the hallway.

The location is really good. And I like the design of shower & bathroom which are separated and installed inside the room.

The water pressure is too low which is difficult to wash your hair.

There was a wide range of activities happening each day, the location is great, and the staff were very helpful!

The staff were super nice and they provided a lot of different activities for the guest. As someone traveling alone, I really liked the trivia night and the open space to do a bit of work after a long day of exploring Amsterdam. It met the expectations of a hostel for sure! Also, the location was great in that you can quickly get to the Centraal Station via ferry, but it is a bit more quiet than being right in the city center.

It was not through the fault of the staff, but the first night there was a large group of high school students that were a bit loud, but again, that is to be expected at a hostel, so less a complaint that just a reminder that - because of the size of the hostel - there are quite a large amount of big groups coming in and out. But the staff handled it quite nicely!

For a first-time hostel visitor, I didn’t expect it to be as clean as it was. Of course, it wasn’t spotless, but it was very nice, and I never thought about it being dirty at all.

My locker in my room wouldn’t lock, and the ones that did were sometimes cumbersome to use. It seems that some lockers have different types of locking mechanisms, so mine may just be a bit different to operate.

Good location, a lot of things to do inside the hostel and easy to meet people if you travel alone.

For two consecutive nights that we were there, they woke us up at absurd hours (3 am and 6 am) very abruptly, turned on the room light and asked me why I was sleeping in the wrong bed, which they gave me from the reception and while they didn't mention anything during the next day, the same thing happened the second night. Unacceptable because we went there as a travelers to sleep and it was their mistake too. Also the guy was very rude. (while it was 3 am!)

Fabulous location as a short boat trip crossing from the Amsterdam central station and great buildings and nice chips shop and by the water. And of course all the places to visit in Amsterdam are easy to access too. Most staff were friendly and helpful like the night guy who helped me print my train tickets as my phone was too old to get the newer train app. People were all nice and discreet so relax atmosphere. Ground floor had few levels of sofas and football tables and ping pong tables as well as big screen for movie nights. Tables in the breakfast area were great to enjoy too during day and evenings. Bar allows you to have nice drinks in the place as not much outside. Beautiful paintings on the walls in common areas and also in our bedroom. Bring colours and happiness to the place ! Breakfast was easy to access and nice to enjoy. And lovely lady at the entrance of breakfast every morning. Everything was spot on clean. Nice activities available, some free and other cheap but we haven’t tried any. They also have storage facilities that you can use and pay for 4h, 12h or 1 day. Very convenient when you arrive before check-in.

The cleaners emptying the bins on 3rd day was nice but didn’t enjoy that they took our empty bottles that were neatly stored on on the unique shelf in the room. You get money when you return plastic bottles and cans so we were not happy to lose the money. And we also used the bottles to refill our water bottles in the room as they were too big for the tap in the bathroom. Also, minimal storage in the room and bathroom. Luckily, we were same family but still, it was a bit annoying to have not much place to keep toiletries bag in the bathroom or to put things on in the room.

The communal activities and group hang out areas were great.

The location is great only a short (free) ferry ride from Centraal station and then a easy walk on the other side. It was nice to be in a quieter area but still close to the main station. There was lots of space to lounge in the common areas. The 10 room female dorm was a decent size with individual lockers that could fit carryon luggage.

The bathroom in the female dorm room had a constant sewage smell. You will need to pay for a locker if you need it before/after checkin.

The lock of the bathroom in our room is hard to open.

It is really good for solo travelers you can meet people from all over the world, there are many activities which are not lame as I expected from a dorm they are really good and fun. If you have any problem or question staff was also the best. The location for me was perfect I traveled to Belgium and Germany by just using ferry as a public transport (Amsterdam Centraal is 5 mins by ferry and it works 24/7 every 5 minutes) Love it here thank you.

I wasn’t prepared for only card theme. To buy drink, food anything they were taking only card. I had only cash and as a student I don’t use credit card so I think it should have been informed before.

The room was big enough and clean, the location is perfect next to the city centre. The staff was very helpful and kind and it had tons of events in order to engage with other people. It was really good value for money and I definitely recommend it.

The location of the hostel is amazing - it’s just a quick free ferry ride from the central train station. It’s really well placed but doesn’t feel as rammed as across the river. There were also loads of activities on in the hostel if you wanted to meet people. The room had everything we needed and was nice and clean. Breakfast was good.

The walls are quite thin so you can hear people on the corridors but people were respectful and it wasn’t a problem. The hostel was also really warm but better than being cold!

The location is nice, it was very vibrant and student-like, they have different events at the facility everyday. The room was basic, but it's a banger considering the price. It's close to the central station (you need to take the ferry but they are very frequent and free) .

My sink was kind of clogged (if I washed my teeth and face in the morning it filled up and I needed to wait several minutes for it to empty). I complained about that in the morning to the reception, they said that maintance would come during the day (I went to visit stuff in the meantime), but in the evening the sink was still clogged.

The hostel is located in a beautiful building with a lot of charm. The rooms are functional and well-suited for a short stay. In addition to twin rooms, there are also dormitory options for those on a budget. A big plus is the wide range of activities offered, perfect for meeting new people or exploring the city in a different way. The common room is a real highlight—spacious, cozy, and well-equipped. The location is excellent. From the free ferry wich brings you from Amsterdam Central Station to the other side of the river within 4 minutes, it is a five-minute walk to the hostel. The service is also impressive, with quick responses to any questions. Overall, a great choice for anyone looking for a mix of comfort, social atmosphere, and a convenient location!

The welcome was a bit cold, but we did arrive during a hectic check-in time, so it's absolutely understandable.

The room small but well furnished, it even had lockers inside the room but also in the lobby area where you could place your belongings if you arrived before the check- in. I absolutely love where it's located it near Amsterdam Central and you can easily get there by using the ferry (it's free).

I didn't spend enough time in there so I can't really say much. I was only when it came time to sleep ,most of the day I was outside so I'm not in the position to say anything negative.

I was there for 5 days and the room wasnt cleaned in 5 days. Ive complanined in the front desk for two days,but the answer is all the same bs

I booked an all women room and i met amazing people here that became my friends in a day! I liked that the hostel was close to everything (even a supermarket at 1 min from there) and that it was in a calm area (we can sleep well). The bed were comfortable, and the employees so nice. Downstairs there is a restaurant, a bar and in the morning breakfast. You can also play games there. It was really cheap and convenient.

The shower was weird and not practical. The room could have been cleaned more thoroughly. There is no microwave (adding one would be better since there is no kitchen).

I want to know more about this building, where could i find some info about it, please? I added some photo's that stirred my curiosity.

location it will be a perfect 10 if it closer to the center you need atleast 10min walk then 10 minutes boat per way. Bathroom sink is clogged

The room was neat and clean, and I appreciated having an ensuite toilet and bathroom. I stayed in a 4-bed female dorm, and it was comfortable and met my expectations. It is also close to Amsterdam central station and the city centre

I had a disappointing experience during my stay. One of the staff members was rude during checkout. The hotel charges to store bags, and when I asked why the timer started at 8 am instead of 10 am (the official checkout time), the staff member sarcastically told me to go back to my room and wait until 10 am if I was so concerned. A polite explanation would have been more professional. The breakfast was equally disappointing. Despite paying €9.90, the quality and variety were poor—just bread, sausage, cheese, cucumbers, bread spread and eggs that tasted bad. It did not feel worth the cost. Additionally, the policy of guests having to lay their own beds is unacceptable. After arriving at 1 am following a long flight, I was assigned a top bunk and had to struggle with exhaustion to make my bed. This level of inconvenience for guests is unreasonable and needs to be reconsidered.

It was an excellent location. Close to the city centre but not directly in it so no loud noises. Comfortable beds and large lockers to store backpacks. The showers were nice and warm with good pressure. (Although water gets all over the floor so you use a scraper to clear it up) Reception is really attentive. I had an issue with a fellow dormmate and I stopped feeling safe in the room and the lady that helped me was an absolute angel. She changed my room to another dorm and walked with me to fetch my bags. Can't thank her enough I felt so much more comfortable in the new dorm.

People enjoy smoking right outside the door so the smell lingers in the entryway so I had to hold my breath each time going past. There also seemed to be someone in my dorm who smoked inside as the locker area stank of weed but maybe they just stored it there? Not sure if the hostel would be able to regulate that though. There was some work going on in the streets which lead to sandy shoes inside. If possible maybe sweep the rooms more frequently.

The staff was very welcoming, always willing to help, with an excellent common area. The hostel offers several activities to bring guests together. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Great location – take a ferry, and in 10 minutes, you’ll be at Central Station.

Everything was fine. The location was good. However, when I first checked in, they gave me a room. And that room smelled incredibly bad. I only stayed in that room for 5 minutes and my head ached for hours, it smelled so bad. I requested a new room and was taken to the new room. The new room was normal and clean. The cabinet locks in the room were broken, but I was given one of the cabinets downstairs. My phone line was not working at the hotel. There was wifi at the hotel.

Nice place friendly atmosphere location is really good very scenic, good communal space with yoga mats places to lay down ping pong and pool tables, nicely tucked out the way but still only 5 mins away from centre as ferries are free and run 24/7 would definitely stay here again.
